  • This paper analyzes security threats in Security Enhanced (SE) Android and proposes a new technique to efficiently protect application data including private information on rooted Android phones. On an unrooted device, application data can be accessed by the application itself according to the access control models. However, on a rooted device, a root-privileged shell can disable part or all of the access control model enforcement procedures. Therefore, a root-privileged shell can directly access sensitive data of other applications, and a malicious application can leak the data of other applications outside the device. To address this problem, the proposed technique allows only some specific processes to access to the data of other applications including private information by modifying the existing SEAndroid Linux Security Module (LSM) Hook function. Also, a new domain type of process is added to the target system to enforce stronger security rules. In addition, the proposed technique separates the directory type of a newly installed application and the directory type of previously installed applications. Experimental results show that the proposed technique can effectively protect the data of each application and incur performance overhead up to or less than 2 seconds.

  • TIn analysis as the first step of S/W development, security requirements of identification and authentication, ID and password management, authentication process, authentication method, ete. should be defined. Identification is to uniquely identify certain users and applications running on a certain system. Authentication means the function to determine true or false users and applications in some cases. This paper is to suggest the security requirements for identification and authentication in analysis step. Firstly, individual ID should be uniquely identified. The second element is to apply the length limitations, combination and periodic changes of passwords. The third should require the more reinforced authentication methods besides ID and passwords and satisfy the defined security elements on authentication process. In this paper, the security requirements for the step of identification and authentication have been explained through several practical implementation methods.

  • Smart grid is a modernized electrical grid that uses information and communication technologies to gather and act on information, such as information about the behaviors of suppliers and consumers, in an automated fashion to improve the efficiency, reliability, economics, and sustainability of the production and distribution of electricity. However, with the advent of cyber crime, there are also concerns on the security of the infrastructure, primarily that involving communications technologies. In this work, we make an in-depth investigation on the issue of security services and network loads on Smart grid. Through simulation, we analyze the relations between security services and network loads. The experimental results of this study will contribute toward designing an advanced Smart grid system that offers better quality of services. Also, the approach proposed in this study can be utilized to derive new and valuable insights in security aspects.

  • As the social and financial damages caused by APT attack such as 3.20 cyber terror are increased, the technical solution against APT attack is required. It is, however, difficult to protect APT attack with existing security equipments because the attack use a zero-day malware persistingly. In this paper, we propose a host based anomaly detection method to overcome the limitation of the conventional signature-based intrusion detection system. First, we defined 39 features to identify between normal and abnormal behavior, and then collected 8.7 million feature data set that are occurred during running both malware and normal executable file. Further, each process is represented as 83-dimensional vector that profiles the frequency of appearance of features. the vector also includes the frequency of features generated in the child processes of each process. Therefore, it is possible to represent the whole behavior information of the process while the process is running. In the experimental results which is applying C4.5 decision tree algorithm, we have confirmed 2.0% and 5.8% for the false positive and the false negative, respectively.

  • According to recent statistics published by the National Industrial Security Center, former and current employees are responsible for 80.4% of companies' technology leakages, and employees of cooperative firms are responsible for another 9.6%. This means that 90% of technology leakages are intentionally or mistakenly caused by insiders. In a recent incident, a credit card company leaked private information, and the person responsible was an employee of a cooperative firm. These types of incidents have an adverse effect not only on a company's assets but also on its reputation. Therefore, most institutions implement various security solutions to prevent information from being leaked. However, security solutions are difficult to analyze and distinguish from one another because their logs are independently operated and managed. A large number of logs are created from various security solutions. This thesis investigates how to prevent internal data leakage by setting up individual scenarios for each security solution, analyzing each scenario's logs, and applying a monitoring system to each scenario.

  • Due to the advance of Internet, offline services are expanded into online services and a financial transaction company provides online services using internet baning systems. However, security problems of the internet banking systems are caused by a lack of security for developing the internet banking systems. Although the financial transaction company has applied existing internal and external standards, ISO 20022, ISO/IEC 27001, ISO/IEC 9789, ISO/IEC 9796, Common Criteria, etc., there are still vulnerabilities. Because the standards lack in a consideration of security requirements of the internet banking system. This paper is intended to explain existing standards and discusses a reason that the standards have not full assurance of security when the internet baning system is applied by single standard. Moreover we make an analysis of a security functions for the internet baning systems and then selects the security requirements. In this paper, we suggest a new protection profile of the internet baning systems using Common Criteria V.3.1 from the analysis mentioned above.

  • Is need Remote Access through internet for business of Ubiquitous Computing age, and apply OTP for confidentiality about inputed ID and Password, network security of integrity. Current OTP must be possessing hardware or Token, and there is limitation in security. Install a Snooping tool to OTP network in this treatise, and because using Cain, enforce ARP Cache Poisoning attack and confirm limitation by Snooping about user password. Wish to propose new system that can apply Tokenless OTP by new security way, and secure confidentiality and integrity. Do test for access control inflecting Tokenless OTP at Remote Access from outside. and could worm and do interface control with certification system in hundred. Even if encounter hacking at certification process, thing that connection is impossible without pin number that only user knows confirmed. Because becoming defense about outward flow and misuse and hacking of password when apply this result Tokenless OTP, solidify security, and evaluated by security system that heighten safety.

  • Electronic medical records in the hospital information system are the important evidence related to the crime and are subject to search and seizure. In the case of a large general hospital, it is possible to search for seizures through cooperation of the staff, but it is impossible in small hospitals. The investigation agency copies the database of electronic medical records and then selects relevant content. This approach has an issue of excessive search and seizure. In this paper, we propose field selection procedures and methods for electronic medical records while ensuring integrity, reproducibility, and chain of custody. Currently, it is necessary to study the procedures and methods of search and seizure of medical information system so that it can respond to next changing cloud hospital information system.

  • CSD is IEEE Stan없rd 802.15.4b based Container Security Device which is proposed by the U.S Department of Home Security. It is mounted inside the container to sense opening of the container door. ConTracer is the CSD which is developed in this research whose major features are sensing door opening status as well as history inquiring on internal environment and shock to the container by mounting the temperature/humidity/shock sensors. Moreover, its RFID frequency bandwidth uses 2.4GHz 10 correspond actively to the radio regulations used by different countries. This. paper introduces the development trend of CSD, compares the ConTracer which is developed thru this research and other company's CSD, and introduces CSD System which is designed and established using ConTracer. Finally, the implemented CSD System is verified by applying the demonstration service to container distribution between Korea and Japan.

  • RFID is Playing a central role in ubiquitous technology according with the advent of the ubiquitous era, and the development of an RFID reader is also emerging as an important technical development field. In this paper, we developed a hardware system which is able to make use of the 13.56MHz RFID infrastructure being used as a transportation card, a credit card, and so on as well as the 125KHz RFID infrastructure being used in security company, and which is applicable to a location identification, an entrance and exit control, and security control over the TCP/IP communication. The existing local RFID methods have some problems which bottlenecks such as administrative problems, technical problems, and so force frequently occur because a casual server is placed and operated in a company. Hence, in this paper we developed an RFID multi reader which is connected to a central administrable server over the TCP/IP in order to solve these problems, and we make it be possible to keep an security control and be easy to install, transfer and administrate RFID infrastructures.
