  • Magnetic field distribution of rotating flux type Low-Tc superconducting (LTS) power supply with respect to the applied current on exciters is investigated in detail by using Finite Element Method (FEM). LTS power supply consists of two exciters, a rotor, a stator and superconductor foil attached to the inner surface of the stator and LTS load. The current pumping of LTS power supply is induced by partial-quenching and recovery of superconductor foil. For this reason, magnetic flux density on superconductor foil must be sufficiently greater than the its critical magnetic density. In this analysis, the normal spot on superconductor foil appears more than 10A of excitation current. The results of this analysis are calculated and compared with the experimental results.

$La_{2}O_{3}$ 치환된 PMN계 세라믹스의 유전 및 전기적특성에 관한 연구 (A study on Dielectric and Electrical Properties using PMN Ceramics with $La_{2}O_{3}$ substitution)

  • The dielectric and polarizable properties of 0.85Pb$Mg_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}$)$O_3$-$0.125PbTiO_3$-$0.25BaTiO_3$ Ceramics have been investigated as a addition of the amount of $La_{2}O_{3}$($0{\leq}x{\geq}0.05$). The Temperature-dependant electrostictive characteristics of 0.85PMN-0.125PT-0.25BT relaxor ferroelectic system were improved by enhencing the extent of the diffuse phase transition(DPT). This was achieved using PMN-PT-BTceramics by the partial substitution of La at the Pb site. The curie temperature and the maximum dielectic permittivity decreased by substituting $La_{2}O_{3}$ and the electic field-related hysteresis phenomena decreased with increasing $La_{2}O_{3}$ substitution amount. It is showed decreasing in induced strain for electric field with increasing $La_{2}O_{3}$ substitution.

브러쉬 코팅 공정을 이용한 용액 기반 BiAlO 박막의 제작과 액정 소자에의 응용 (Fabrication of the Solution-Derived BiAlO Thin Film by Using Brush Coating Process for Liquid Crystal Device)

  • We fabricated BiAlO thin film by a solution process with a brush coating to be used as liquid crystal (LC) alignment layer. Solution-processed BiAlO was coated on the glass substrate by brush process. Prepared thin films were annealed at different temperatures of 80℃, 180℃, and 280℃. To verify whether the BiAlO film was formed properly, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy analysis was performed on Bi and Al. Using a crystal rotation method by polarized optical microscopy, LC alignment state was evaluated. At the annealing temperature of 280℃, the uniform homogenous LC alignment was achieved. To reveal the mechanism of LC alignment by brush coating, field emission scanning electron microscope was used. Through this analysis, spin-coated and brush coated film surface were compared. It was revealed that physical anisotropy was induced by brush coating at a high annealing temperature. Particles were aligned in one direction along which brush coating was made, resulting in a physical anisotropy that affects a uniform LC alignment. Therefore, it was confirmed that brush coating combined with BiAlO thin film annealed at high temperature has a significant potential for LC alignment.

Probabilistic service life of box culvert due to carbonation of concrete cover

  • More underground structures are increasingly being constructed such as box culverts for electric power transmission, and the life extension of these structures is very important. It is well known that the steel embedded in concrete is usually invulnerable to corrosion because the high alkalinity of the pore solution in concrete generates a thin protective oxide layer on the surface of the steel. Recent observations in the field and experimental evidence have shown that even steel in concrete can be corroded through the carbonation reaction of cover concrete. Carbonation-induced corrosion in concrete may often occur in a high carbon dioxide environment. In this study, the risk of carbonation of underground box culverts in Korea was evaluated by measuring the car¬bonation rate and concrete cover depth in the field. Then, the carbonation-free service life for the cover depth of the steel was calcu¬lated with in situ information and Monte Carlo simulation. Additionally, an accelerated carbonation test for a cracked beam specimen was performed, and the effect of a crack on the service life of a box culvert was numerically investigated with Monte Carlo simulation based on experimental results.

  • 본 논문에서는 현재 가장 많이 사용되는 조명용 LED광원에 대한 EMI특성을 측정 분석 분석하였다. LED 광원의 자기장 유도전류와 각각의 인입 전원선에 대한 잡음 단자전압 등을 측정 및 분석하였으며, 향후 LED광원 관련 규격 제안시 참고자료로 활용될 것으로 판단된다.

  • 본 논문에서는 전기철도에서 발생하는 대지전위와 통신회선의 잡음에 대한 실험적 증명에 관한 것이다. 대지전위차가 발생하는 곳에서 전력유도잡음전압과 케이블 평형도 등을 측정할 경우 계측 오차가 심각하게 발생되는 것으로 나타났다. 측정결과, 고속철도 인접한 곳의 통신케이블은 시스층에 지전류가 많이 흐르는 차폐 케이블보다 일반 케이블을 그대로 사용하는 것이 잡음피해를 보다 줄일 수 있음이 실험 결과로 확인 되었다.

Electrical Characteristics of Flat Cesium Antimonide Photocathode Emitters in Panel Devices

  • The Cs3Sb photocathode was formed by non-vacuum process technology. An in-situ vacuum device was fabricated successively with flat cesium antimonide photocathode emitters fabricated in a process chamber. The electrical properties of the device were characterized. Electron emission from the devices was induced by photoemitted electrons, which were accelerated by an anode electric field that was shielded from the photoemitter surface. The electrical characteristics of the devices were investigated by measuring the anode current as a function of device operation times with respect to applied anode voltages. Planar blue LED light with a 450 nm wavelength was used as an excitation source. The results showed that the cesium antimonide photocathode emitter has the potential of long lifetime with stable electron emission characteristics in panel devices. These features demonstrate that the cesium antimony photocathodes produced by non-vacuum processing technology is suitable for flat cathodes in panel device applications.

Effect of nonionic surfactants on the electrorheology of emulsions

  • In this study, we consider the effect of nonionic surfactants on the rheological responses of emulsion systems under the action of a uniform do electric field. The model emulsions consist of a less conducting dispersed phase and a more conducting continuous phase. When the shear flow is weak, the positive viscosity effect is produced due to the formation of chain-like morphology. The nonionic surfactants used here generate two distinctively different effects. Specifically, first, the steric hindrance induced by the surfactant molecules renders the structure unstable, and thereby reduces the degree of positive viscosity effect. Secondly, the presence of surfactant molecules also prevents the rotation of the dispersed droplets by anchoring across the interface or by decreasing the size of dispersed phase. The second effect suppresses the negative viscosity effect.

마이크로파 소결법을 이용한 Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3계 적층형 세라믹 액추에이터 제조 (Preparation of Bi0.5Na0.5TiO3-Based Multilayer Ceramic Actuators Using Microwave Sintering)

  • A comparative study has been attempted for microwave and conventional sintering of lead-free $Bi_{0.5}Na_{0.5}TiO_3(BNT)$-based multilayer ceramic actuators(MLAs). It was found that microwave sintering (MWS) could be successfully applied to the co-firing of piezoceramic/AgPd MLAs with a 10 times shorter firing cycle as well as $100^{\circ}C$ lower firing temperature ($850^{\circ}C$) for sufficient densification than conventional furnace sintering ($950^{\circ}C$). Furthermore, MWS-derived specimens showed better electric field-induced strain than that of CFS-derived specimens by effectively suppressing interdiffusions between ceramic and electrode layers.

차단기 적용을 위한 초전도체의 합성 (Electric Properties of High-Tc Ceramic Superconductor for Breaker)

  • This aim of this study was to develop a process for creating bulk single-crystal YBaCuO superconductors in a high magnetic field. To support the bulk unidirectional growth of $YBa_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$, $SmBa_2Cu_3O_{7-y}$ seeds were planted inside YBaCuO composites and samples were produced by melting, enabling the growth of two YBaCuO superconductors. Due to the magnetism generated inside the superconductor of the upper sample, the magnetization inside the superconducting single crystals was evenly distributed, the sharpness of the induced magnetic force was improved, and the superconducting magnetization were significantly improved. This approach is widely applicable for the production of superconducting wires and current leads used for DC power breakers.
