  • This study investigates the effect of information about risk on investment decision making. The model was constructed with two independent variables and two dependant variables. The first independent variable deals with whether information about risk is provided or not. The meaning of information about risk is the degree of uncertainty for investment decision making. The other independent variable involves attitude toward risk, such as the degree of tolerance for risk. Two dependant variables are concerned with the effect on investment decision making, such as the degree of riskiness of decision making and decision confidence, respectively. This study deals with the investment decision in options on stock indices. The findings of this study are as follows. The more the degree of tolerance for risk, the more the degree of decision confidence. This means that risk-taker has more desire for achievement than risk-avoider has. And the message alerting risk of investment decision making takes little effect on investment decision making.

  • Objective: The objectives were to investigate correlations between energy digestibility (digestible energy [DE]:gross energy [GE]) and various fiber types including crude fiber (CF), total dietary fiber (TDF), soluble dietary fiber (SDF), insoluble dietary fiber (IDF), neutral detergent fiber (NDF), and acid detergent fiber (ADF), and to develop prediction equations for estimating DE in feed ingredients and diets for growing pigs. Methods: A total of 289 data with DE values and chemical composition of feeds from 39 studies were used to develop prediction equations for DE. The equations were validated using values provided by the National Research Council. Results: The DE values in feed ingredients ranged from 2,011 to 4,590 kcal/kg dry matter (DM) and those in diets ranged from 2,801 to 4,203 kcal/kg DM. In feed ingredients, DE:GE was negatively correlated (p<0.001) with NDF (r = -0.84), IDF (r = -0.83), TDF (r = -0.82), ADF (r = -0.78), and CF (r = -0.72). A best-fitting model for DE (kcal/kg) in feed ingredients was: 1,356 + (0.704 × GE, kcal/kg) - (60.3 × ash, %) - (27.7 × NDF, %) with R2 = 0.80 and p<0.001. In diets, DE:GE was negatively correlated (p<0.01) with NDF (r = -0.72), IDF (r = -0.61), TDF (r = -0.52), CF (r = -0.45), and ADF (r = -0.34). A best-fitting model for DE (kcal/kg) in diets was: 1,551 + (0.606 × GE, kcal/kg) - (22.1 × ash, %) - (25.6 × NDF, %) with R2 = 0.62 and p<0.001. All variables are expressed as DM basis. The equation developed for DE in feed ingredients had greater accuracy than a published equation for DE. Conclusion: All fiber types are reasonably good independent variables for predicting DE of swine feeds. The best-fitting model for predicting DE of feeds employed neutral detergent fiber as an independent variable.

  • Since the majority of streamflow during dry periods is provided by groundwater storage, the streamflow depends on a basin moisture state recharged from rainfall during wet periods. This hydrologic characteristics dives good condition to predict long-term streamflow if the basin state like groundwater recharge is known in advance. The objective of this study is to examine groundwater recharge effect to monthly streamflow, and to attempt monthly streamflow prediction using estimated groundwater recharge. The ground water recharge is used as an independent variable with streamflow and precipitation to construct multiple regression models for the prediction. Correlation analysis was performed to assess the effect of groundwater carry-over to streamflow and to establish the associations among independent variables. The predicted streamflow shows that the multiple regression model involved groundwater recharge gives improved results comparing to the model only using streamflow and precipitation as independent variables. In addition, this paper shows that the prediction model with the effect of groundwater carry-over taken into account can be developed using only precipitation.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is conducting of predictive models that considered multicollinearity of independent variables in order to carry out more efficient and reliable predictions about differential pressure in seawater reverse osmosis. Methods: The main variables of each RO system are extracted through factor analysis. Common variables are derived through comparison of RO system # 1 and RO system # 2. In order to carry out the prediction modeling about the differential pressure, which is the target variable, we constructed the prediction model reflecting the regression analysis, the artificial neural network, and the support vector machine in R package, and figured out the superiority of the model by comparing RMSE. Results: The number of factors extracted from factor analysis of RO system #1 and RO system #2 is same. And the value of variability(% Var) increased as step proceeds according to the analysis procedure. As a result of deriving the average RMSE of the models, the overall prediction of the SVM was superior to the other models. Conclusion: This study is meaningful in that it has been conducting a demonstration study of considering the multicollinearity of independent variables. Before establishing a predictive model for a target variable, it would be more accurate predictive model if the relevant variables are derived and reflected.

As a result of multiple regression analysis, First focus is on ODB. In the Model 1 with independent variables, e-Government, SW Market size and government efficacy are significantly positive effect for ODB. In the Model 2 with independent variables and moderating variable, e-Government, SW market size and social capital are significantly positive effect for ODB. In the Model 3 with independent variables, moderating variable and interaction term, e-Government and social capital are significantly positive effect for ODB. Second focus is on OUR Index. In the Model 1 and the Model 2 e-Government is significantly positive effect for OUR Index. In the Model, e-Government and SW market size ${\times}$ social capital(interaction term) are significantly positive effect for OUR Index. And in path analysis, only ODB alternative model show Government efficacy with social capital has full mediation effect. In OUR Index alternative model there is no mediation effect with social capital.

  • This study is about an analysis of the relation between the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits when coping with several types of disaster and the degree of cognition of damage by disasters in the method of multiple regression analysis. The dependent variable is the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits and the independent variable is the degree of cognition of damage by disasters such as heavy snow, typhoon, heavy rain, heat, and yellow sand. A survey of graduates of metropolitan area high-schools has found that there are no difference between girls and boys of the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits when coping with disasters. This study finds that the independent variable, which are playgrounds, animals and plants, streets and roads, altitude and incline, gives positive effect to the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits when coping with typhoon or heavy rain in order. The study also finds that the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits when coping with heavy snow is affected positively by streets and roads, playgrounds, altitude and incline in order. It also shows that there are factors that has an effect to the degree of cognition of student's acts within limits when coping with yellow sand and heat. This study proposes suggestions to facility plans based on these facts discovered.

  • This investigation analyzed differences in sexual experiences between general and multi-cultural adolescents using the 7th data of youth health behavior online survey and examined effects of fathers' education and sex education on these differences. Specifically, sexual experiences were assigned as dependent variable, multi-cultural background as independent variable, and fathers' education and sex education as moderating variable. Effects of independent and moderating variables were examined using SPSS 20.0 to perform GLM (General Linear Model). As a result, a main effect of multi-cultural background was verified along with the regulation effects of fathers' education and sex education. Specifically, multi-cultural adolescents had more sexual experiences than general adolescents and the effects of fathers' education and sex education were more significant with multi-cultural adolescents than those with general adolescents. While fathers' education and sex education of general adolescents did not make a big difference in sexual experiences, multi-cultural adolescents whose fathers' education levels were low and those who were not taught sex education had more sexual experiences.

  • This study proposes a method to evaluate the level of 'soft-hard' of color quantitatively by evaluating the shape with edge sharpness automatically and by evaluating color in the color image scale in a drawing in art therapy using a computer. The dependent variable is the rank for the color experts to rate the level of 'soft-hard'. The mean and standard deviation of Value(V), and Chroma(C), colors, main color, clusters, length of edge, and sharp line rate of edge are considered as the independent variable. The appropriate independent variables to explain the dependent variable are selected through the step wise regression analysis. The inter-rater reliability of two raters is checked and the validity of developed system is verified by the rank correlations coefficient between the ranks of rater's and system's. This system can be used to evaluate of the shape or color in a drawing objectively and quantitatively for art therapy assessment, and to give the useful information to the fashion, textile, interior industry as well as color psychology and art therapy.

  • With regard to the culture in cities this study aims to essential understanding and systematic approach to the culture. The "2011 Seoul Survey"report has been used to find out causality among the related variables. In the first place 'satisfaction of cultural condition' was operationally selected as a dependent variable for regression. For the purpose of controlling confounding factors for ceteris paribus effect correlation analysis was done between the dependent variable and all other variables respectively, which resulted in two groups of variables: group (1) - 6 variables of very significant correlations(p-value<0.01) and (2) - the other 6 variables of significant correlations(p-value<0.05). Then hierarchical regression was adopted to these 2 groups to analyse $R^2$ increment, statistical significance of independent variables, and multicollinearity(VIF; variance inflation factor). At last a regression model specified by group (1) as independent variables(they are 'social trust', 'satisfaction of walking condition', 'happiness index', 'preparation against old age', 'satisfaction of traffic condition' and 'hours for internet') shows that only 'social trust' variable has statistically significant and substantially strong effect on 'satisfaction of cultural condition.' This finding should be accepted on the following understanding; (1) urban culture has a collective attribute formed between people and society, (2) culture is somewhat telling and hearing stories and the confidence between tellers and hearers is essential in the mutual response and (3) stimulus is received by relationship in company with sense, emotion, thinking and action. In spite of restrictive external validity this finding can be used as a direction for promoting culture and a basis for related policy choice in cities.

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of face sensitivity on the major selection and job efficacy of tourism related majors. Therefore, we analyzed the questionnaires of 315 students who majored in tourism at a two - year university in Seoul through multiple regression analysis. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the eating factor of the A sense of shame substance, which is an independent variable, did not affect the selection factor of the dependent variable. In the study in which the major selection was made as the independent variable, And did not affect efficacy which was significantly correlated with job satisfaction and self-efficacy. Therefore, it is expected that positive attitude and guidance to the tourism industry will have a positive effect on career planning and career maturity level after graduation.
