As the business environment is rapidly changing with globalization and complexity of information flows, the uncertainty is also very increased for project environment. Although many studies have been conducted to find out the critical factors for project success, there still exist different views to define project success. Furthermore, implementing success formula for one project does not necessarily guarantee a success for another project since there are other elements that impede the success of project. In this regards, it is imperative to examine what are the barriers to project success. This study aims to examine the barriers that impede the success of project. Past literature was thoroughly reviewed to collect and develop a preliminary list of elements that affected project performance negatively. Experts were interviewed to refine the list and the final list of the measurement items were developed. A survey questionnaire was developed with the final list of measurement items, and a survey was conducted on the practitioners with project experience. After the survey, an exploratory factor analysis was conducted on the final list to extract the component dimensions which in turn formed the group of project barriers. The exploratory factor analysis provided ten factors, which are difficulty of process management, failure of project feasibility analysis, cost overruns and lack of cost benefits, unclarity project plan, strategic consistency error, stakeholder conflict, inaccuracy of requirement definition, disturbance of communication, technical environment change, negative attitude of top management.

There exist residual stresses and deformations in welded structures because of nonuniform temperature distribution. The thermal elasto-plastic analysis is necessary to describe the behavor of the structure during welding. In this paper, we calculated the residual stresses and deformations of the welded beam using the I-dimensional layered beam theory. In the previous 1-dimensional analyses, there were restrictions that the equilibrium conditions which were effective only on beams with infinite length were used, and the boundary conditions could not be considered adequately. But, the layered beam theory based on the incremental finite element method, can overcome these restrictions. On the other hand, in the 2-dimensional analysis, the computing time is large because of many degrees of freedom, and there was inaccuracy in the calculation of welding deformations. However, the layered beam theory can take into account the variation of properties along the depth, and can reduce the degrees of freedom considerably in comparision with the 2-dimensional analysis, and shows good agreement with the experiments.

A Ku-band low noise amplifier has been designed and fabricated by using 0.25 um SiGe BiCMOS process. The developed Ku-band LNA RFIC which has been designed with hetero-junction bipolar transistor(HBT) in the BiCMOS process have noise figure about 2.0 dB and linear gain over 19 dB in the frequency range from 9 GHz to 14 GHz. Optimization technique for p-tap value and electro-magnetic(EM) simulation technique had been used to overcome the inaccuracy in the PDK provided from the foundry service company and to supply the insufficient inductor library. The finally fabricated low noise amplifier of two fabrication runs has been implemented with the size of $0.65\;mm{\times}0.55\;mm$. The pure amplifier circuit layout with the reduced size of $0.4\;mm{\times}0.4\;mm$ without the input and output RF pads and DC bais pads has been incorporated as low noise amplication stages in the multi-function RFIC for the active phased array antenna of Ku-band satellite VSAT.

Frequency domain reflectometry diagnoses faults on electric cables by measuring the cable impedance. Time domain impedance measurement technique using an oscilloscope instead of a network analyzer is widely used for electric power cables under harsh environment or powered condition. However, impedance measurement in the time domain shows inaccuracy as the frequency increases due to several parasitic impedances, which results in the poor resolution of fault points. This paper presents the accuracy enhancement technique using a module with an operational amplifier and an error calibration method in the time domain impedance measurements, which is confirmed by comparing the cable impedance measurement results.

Overbreak occurred inevitably in a tunnel excavation, Is the main factor for increasing cost and time in tunnel projects. Furthermore the damage to the remained rock mass related to the overbreak can give rise to a serious safety problem in tunnels. As a rule of thumb, causes for the overbreak are inaccuracy in drilling, the wrong design of blasting and selection of explosives, and heterogeneity in rock mass. Specially, the geological features of the rock mass around periphery of an excavation are very important factors, so a lot of researches have been conducted to describe these phenomena. But the quantitative geological classification of the rock mass for the overbreak and the method for decreasing the amount of the overbreak have not been established. Besides, the technical improvement of the charge method is requested as explosives for the smooth blasting have not functioned efficiently. In this study, the working face around periphery of an excavation has been continuously sectionalized to 5∼6 parts, and the new Blastability Index for the overbreak based on 6 factors of RMD(Rock Mass Description), UCS(Uniaxial Compressive Strength) JPS(Joint Plane Spacing), JPO(Joint Plane Orientation), JPA(Joint Plane Aperture) and FM(Filling Material) is proposed to classify sections of the working face. On the basis of this classification, the distance between contour holes and the charging density are determined to minimize the overbreak. For controlling the charging density and improving the function of explosives, the New Deck Charge(N.D.C) method utilizing the deck charge method and detonation transmission in hole has been developed.
For detecting an intrusion based on the anomaly of a user's activities, previous works are concentrated on statistical techniques in order to analyze an audit data set. However. since they mainly analyze the average behavior of a user's activities, some anomalies can be detected inaccurately. In this paper, a new clustering algorithm for modeling the normal pattern of a user's activities is proposed. Since clustering can identify an arbitrary number of dense ranges in an analysis domain, it can eliminate the inaccuracy caused by statistical analysis. Also, clustering can be used to model common knowledge occurring frequently in a set of transactions. Consequently, the common activities of a user can be found more accurately. The common knowledge is represented by the occurrence frequency of similar data objects by the unit of a transaction as veil as the common repetitive ratio of similar data objects in each transaction. Furthermore, the proposed method also addresses how to maintain identified common knowledge as a concise profile. As a result, the profile can be used to detect any anomalous behavior In an online transaction.
In order to do requirement-based testing of embedded system, we must have correct requirement specifications. But, natural language requirements of a client have ambiguity, inaccuracy, and inconsistency. To solve these problems, natural language requirements are modeled with modeling language such as UML and Simulink. During a modeling phase, the requirements are rearranged and retranslated in use-case. These activities are disadvantages of modeling. In this paper, we propose the technique, which is how to model a embedded system requirement into a model without rearranging and retranslating. This technique 1) represent a embedded system requirement with graphical language, and 2) model a requirement into a model. Because this technique only describes "what-to-do" of the requirement, this technique is useful to not only the low-level requirements but also the high-level requirements. We show some example systems modeled by REED, which has adopted this technique.

As the importance of information audit is getting bigger, the public corporations invest many expenses at information system audit to build a high quality system. For this purpose, there are much research to proceed an audit effectively. In database audit works, it could audit utilizing a variety of monitoring tools. However, when auditing SQLs which might be affected to database performance, there are several limits related to SQL audit functionality. For this reason, most existing monitoring tools process based on meta information, it is difficult to proceed SQL audit works if there is no meta data or inaccuracy. Also, it can't detect problems by analysis of SQL's syntax structure. In this paper, we design and implement the SQL Inspector using ANTLR which is applied by syntax analysis technique. The overall conclusion is that the implemented SQL Inspector can work effectively much more than eye-checked way. Finally, The SQL inspector which we proposed can apply much more audit rules by compared with other monitoring tools. We expect the higher stability of information system to apply SQL Inspector from development phase to the operation phase.
A logical measure is suggested to estimate an accurate Sound Speed Profile (SSP) for the unusual variation of salinity in the Yellow Sea. Based on National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA)'s Aqua and Soil Moisture Active Passive (SMAP) satellite data, this measure identifies the area of temperature inversion effect and expansion of low salinity (<30.5 psu) water. Subsequently, on the area, the Conductivity, Temperature, and Depth (CTD) mounted unmanned maritime system estimates accurate SSP. In order to carry out this measure conveniently, a flow chart is demonstrated in this research. By using this measure which finds the high variational salinity area, the inaccuracy issue for calculating SSP from Expandable Bathy Thermograph (XBT) is expected to be solved.

In this paper, axial strains and lateral displacements of columns in a 58-story reinforced concrete building were measured using vibrating wire gauge and laser scanner, respectively, and compared with predicted values. Predictions were obtained using ASAP, which is a 3D construction stage analysis program developed based on PCA report. Comparisons indicated that columns in the middle of floor plan showed good correlation with predictions. However, the columns in the corners showed some deviations. Lateral displacement of columns between measurement and estimation showed similar trends but considerable deviations, which are seemingly caused by construction error of column faces, and inaccuracy in differential vertical displacement prediction.
