R and S Arrays Approach for Transfer Function-Noise Model Identificaton

  • This paper proposes an approach to the identification of trnasfer function models. A strategy for the identification of the model structure is based on R and S arrays constructed by the impulse response function of the model. Theoretical patterns of the arrays associated with the model are investigated, and the practical implementation method of the suggested approach is also discussed. Finally two published samples are employed to demonstrate the practicability of the approach.

  • The frequency response function(FRF) of each substructure is used for the transfer function synthesis method(TFS). The dynamic characteristics of the full system are obtained by synthesizing FRFs of each substructure. The validation of TFS depends on accuracy for FRF of each substructure. Impact hammer testing Is widely used to obtain the modal characteristics of structures However. the FRF obtained from impact hammer testing contains bias errors, such as finite record length error and leakage error of which characteristic depends on data acquisition time which we call record length. In this paper, a method to remove hose errors is proposed so as to enhance results of TFS. Numerical and experimental examples show that the FRF of full structure can be predicted nearly exactly by the method proposed in this paper.

  • 벡터 승산 구조를 이용하여 다중채널 FIR디지털 필터를 구성하기 위한 한 기법을 제안하였다. 제안된 기법은 하드웨어의 구성을 간소화시키고, 동작속도를 개선할 수 있었다. 위의 기법으로 구성된 4채널 디지털 필터의 주파수 응답은 Remez방식으로 시뮬레이션하여 얻어진 주파수 응답과 전 일치하였다.

  • 위전도(EGG electrogastrography)는 비관혈적으로 복부에 전극을 부착하여 위에서 발생하는 위 근육의 전기적인 활동성(gastric electrical activity)을 측정하는 방법이다. 위전도 신호는 주파수가 매우 낮으며(0.0083~0.15 Hz) 진폭이 매우 작기(10~100 uV) 때문에 잡음의 영향을 많이 받게 된다. 이로 인해 FIR(finite impulse response) 필터나 IIR(infinite impulse response) 필터에서는 위전도 신호와 같이 0.1417 Hz의 좁은 대역폭을 가지는 신호를 필터링하기 위해서는 높은 차수로 인해 불안정해지거나 신호가 왜곡되는 경우가 발생한다. 그래서 본 연구에서는 Daubechies 모웨이브렛을 7단계로 확장한 웨이브렛 다단계 분해 필터를 사용하였으며 기존에 많이 사용되는 2종류의 FIR 필터, 4종류의 IIR 필터들을 신호대 잡음비(SNR : signal to noise ratio)과 재생신호 자승오차(RSE : reconstruction squared error) 등의 파라미터를 이용하여 시뮬레이션 위전도 신호를 이용하여 성능을 평가하였다. 정규분포임의잡음(normal distribution random noise)이 합성된 시뮬레이션 위전도 신호를 사용한 웨이브렛 다단계 분해 필터의 SNR은 비교대상이 된 필터들 중, 최고의 SNR에 비해 잡음의 레벨에 따라 각각 9.5, 6.9, 4.7 dB 더 좋은 성능을 보여주었다. RSE에서도 $1.22{\times}10^6, 1.16{\times}10^6, 1.02{\times}10^6$이 더 적은 에러를 보여주었다.

가계의 식료품비 지출패턴 (Household's Food and Beverage Expenditure Patterns)

  • We examined household's food expenditures in this study. The empirical work outlined here used quarterly data from 2003 Q1 to 2010 Q3. All variables are in log form and were obtained from the Korea National Statistical Office. The food items included cereals, dairy products, fruits, meat, vegetables, and alcoholic beverages. We applied the ordinary least squares method to a model consisting of household income and seasonal dummies. This is because household expenditures are ordinarily a function of income and have seasonal characteristics. The household's food consumption patterns also reflect the prevailing social and environmental circumstances. This study showed that the income coefficients of cereals, meat, dairy products, and alcoholic beverages tend to increase in the long-run, whereas those of vegetables and fruits decreased. The results also revealed that consumption of alcoholic beverages and meat was greatly affected by household income fluctuations, whereas those of vegetables and dairy products were not sensitive to income. The impulse response functions indicated that expenditures not only increased slowly before peaking one to eight quarters after the income shock but declined very slowly to pre-shock levels. The response of dairy products at the twelfth step was three times as large as that of the first step.

An Analysis of Money Supply in Indonesia: Vector Autoregressive (VAR) Approach

  • The role of money in the modern economy highly determines the intensity and the development of the macroeconomy. The money supply is assumed to be as much as money demand, which reflects the economic character of a country and indicates the growth and development of macroeconomy. In Indonesia, the money supply (M1) is related to the economic dynamics in either the monetary market or the goods market. This research aims at analyzing factors that influence the money supply and to what extent the economic factors affect the money supply in Indonesia. The analysis method used in this research was Vector Autoregressive (VAR) with some variables, such as money supply (M1), interest rate, and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from the 1st quarter of 2001 until the 1st quarter of 2013. The data collection method was in the form of data compilation from credible sources, such as Bank of Indonesia (BI), Central Bureau of Statistics (CBS), and International Financial Statistics (IFS). To obtain adequate analysis results, several tests were taken, such as unit-root test, Granger causality test, and optimal lag. VAR analysis formulates the correlation among independent variables, so it also sees the study of impulse response and matrix decomposition.

가상환경용 3차원 입체음향 시스템 개발 (Development of three-dimensional sound effects system for virtual reality)

  • 입체음향은 가상환경 시스템에서 중요한 부분을 차지하고, 청각 재생과 인간-컴퓨터 상호작용에서 점점 더 각광받고 있다. 본 논문은 가상환경을 위한 새로운 실시간 3차원 입체음향 재생 시스템을 제안한다. 먼저 가상공간에서의 임펄스 응답을 계산하는 방법을 제안한다. 입체음향과 관련된 가상공간 정보를 전달하기 위해서, 가상 환경을 위한 재질 정보를 포함하는 Enhanced DXF 파일 형식을 제안한다. 그리고 멀티채널 사운드 패닝 시스템을 구현하였다. 컴퓨터 환경에서 실험하여 제안한 방법의 유용성을 보여준다.

준해석적 방법을 통한 파라메트릭 횡동요 해석 (A Semi-Analytic Approach for Analysis of Parametric Roll)

  • This study aims the development of a semi-analytic method for the parametric roll of large containerships advancing in longitudinal waves. A 1.5 Degree-of-Freedom(DOF) model is proposed to account the change of transverse stability induced by wave elevations and vertical motions (heave and pitch). By approximating the nonlinearity of restoring moment at large heel angles, the magnitude of roll amplitude is predicted as well as susceptibility check for parametric roll occurrence. In order to increase the accuracy of the prediction, the relationship between righting arm(GZ) and metacentric height(GM) is examined in the presence of incident waves, and then a new formula is proposed. Based on the linear approximation of the mean and first harmonic component of GM, the equation of parametric roll in irregular wave excitations is introduced, and the computational results of the proposed model are validated by comparing those of weakly nonlinear simulation based on an impulse-response-function method combined with strip theory. The present semi-analytic doesn’ t require heavy computational effort, so that it is very efficient particularly when numerous sea conditions for the analysis of parametric roll should be considered.

Nth 밴드 FIR 필터의 균일 리플 통과 대역 응답을 위한 해석과 설계 (Analysis and Design of Nth-band FIR Filters with Equi-Ripple Passband Response)

  • In FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filter applications, Nth-band F]U digital filters are known to be important due to their reduced computational requirements. The conventional methods for designing F]U filters use iterative approaches such as the well-known Parks-Mcclellan algorithm. The Parks-Mcclellan algorithm is also used to design Nth-band FIR digital filters. But a disadvantage of the Parks-Mcclellan algorithm is that it needs a good amount of design time. This paper describes a direct design method for Nth-band FIR Filters using Chebyshev polynomials, which provides a reduced design time over indirect methods such as the Parks-Mcclellan algorithm. The response of the resulting filter is equiripple in passband. Our proposed method produces a passband response that is equripple to within a minuscule error, comparable to that of the Parks-Mcclellan algorithm.
