  • Ecodesign is specific process integrating environmental aspect as a cost, quality, function into the stage of product development. Ecodesign is one of importance elements for sustainable development, a lot of company and institute have been tried to integrate environmental aspect into the stage of product development. But there's almost no endeavor to improve environmental aspects of electrical moto unit in korea. In this research, LCA was conducted for identifying environmental key issue of EMU. Also EQFD was conducted for analysis of stakeholder requirements. Combining each results from LCA and EQFD by using environmental strategy. Advancing to measure, task from environmental strategy. Finally, EMU was redesigned and we took ecology profile of redesigned EMU including eco-efficiency.

  • Quality is a critical competitive factor in today's environment because of the impact of quality on market share, productivity and costs. Especially in Korean companies, the importance of quality is heightened as they are losing price competitiveness compared to the new industrialized countries. The traditional approach to quality improvement has been focused on workers. The primary means to achieving acceptable outgoing quality has been to inspect quality by adding more inspectors and inspection stations. This is an example of quality cost that can be reduced through the preventive actions against bad quality. Quality cost is best viewed as a measure of costs specifically associated with the achievement or nonachievement of product/service quality required by customers. This paper examines the concept of quality cost, provides guidance to implementing a quality cost system, and identifies the limitations of quality cost information. These limitations are the target for future research for an efficient and effective implementation of quality cost system.

  • A method is proposed for the simultaneous optimization of several response functions that depend on the same set of controllable variables and are adequately represented by a response surface model (polynomial regression model) with the same degree and with constraint that the individual responses have the target values. First, the multiple responses data are checked for linear dependencies among the responses by eigenvalue analysis. Thus a set of responses with no linear functional relationships is used in developing a function that measures the distance estimated responses from the target values. We choose the optimal condition that minimizes this measure. Also, under the different degree of importance two step procedures are proposed.

  • The relative importance of single-shot kill probabilities, rates of fire, weapon allocation strategies, and the size of initial force in warfare between two force with heterogeneous multiple weapon systems are considered by examining their effect on a natural measure of effectiveness, the expected number of survivors. Attrition equations are derived via stochastic formulation to represent the mean course of battle having an underlying probability distribution. It is assumed that each side uses indirect area fires. Level of intelligence activities are reflected in the availability of spontaneous information on the current enemy status. Depending on the availability of the information on the current enemy status, each participatory unit may follow 1) a prescribed attack pattern (fraction of the available units assigned to various enemy targets) or 2) an adaptive attack pattern depending on the enemy status at that time. Conditions for possible stalemate are discussed.

  • The purpose of this study was to measure the importance of attributes: area, food quality, food type, price, service quality, which influence tourist preference of foodservice. It also identifies foodservice attributes' level combinations which confer the highest utility to tourists. Conjoint model was used for this study. The findings from this study were as follows. First, it was found that all tourists regarded food type and price as very important factors. Second, it was found that the foodservices with different attribute levels were preferred across cluster. Third, it was found that the most preferred foodservice was significantly different by cluster. Finally, the implications of the study and proposal of future study were outlined.

  • The primary goal of this study is to analyze fire hazards of electric home appliances such as electric iron and electric heater using fault tree analysis(FTA). A fault tree(FT) is constructed and used to analyze fire hazards in electric home appliances. The fault tree is built from events that may occur in electric home appliances. The failure rate of basic events are derived from the value of experimental results and reference. And an algorithm analyzing fire in electric home appliances is suggested. We show how fault tree analysis, carried out by means of failure rate, is able to diagnose fire hazards of electric home appliances in a precise manner. We present numerical results such as fire probability of electric home appliances, importance measure, fire cause, etc. It can be helpful in preventing the fire hazards in electric home appliances.

  • This study aims to prove that the fact that minority races in the north-eastern region contributed sable skin to the Quing Dynasty might be related to Cho-Sun of King Muryong in the Warring states period because documents are available here and there. The Chinese had been using fur clothing since ancient times but we cannot find any mention that they had used sable skin. This fact shows that sable skin was not widely used because of its rarity. Cho-pi had been used in making costume on a large scale from the period of the Han Dynasty to the end of the Quing Dynasty. Cho-pi was very rare and it was used as a measure of bartering. China met the demand of cho-pi by the Cho-pi contributions of the frontier minority races. It might bwe that the high demand of Cho-pi in the Quing Dynasty forced minority races to contribute Cho-pi The documents concerning Cho-pi in the north-eastern region are of great importance not only to the history of costume but also to the history of ancient economy and national culture.

  • The purposes of the study are to measure the relative importance of independent variables, to analyze relation between user satisfaction and use, and to improve the level of user satisfaction in using e-Trade system(uTradeHub). The study develops the independent variables in three dimensions(i.e the quality of system, quality of information, and quality of service), estimates the level of satisfaction on a par with these variables, and analyzes the causal relation of these variables. The major findings of the study are as follows. First, there is a significant casual relationship between the quality of system and user satisfaction, thus the hypothesis is accepted. Second, there is a significant casual relationship between the quality of information and user satisfaction, thus the hypothesis is accepted. Third, there is a significant casual relationship between the quality of service and user satisfaction, thus the hypothesis is accepted. Final, there is a significant casual relationship between the user satisfaction and use, thus the hypothesis is accepted.

  • It is needed to evaluate information systems actively which has already developed to improve future performance of the organization and foster the activation of information system. The introduction or development of information system also can bring about a organizational success. To measure exactly the organizational performance of information systems, it is needed to develop a new valuation model for a specific information system from a objective pint of view, as well as to equip a standard methodology using BSC measurement. The information system valuation from a objective point of view is of importance as the basic information for the decision to obtain information system. This paper takes aim at investigating a new information system valuation model and developing a information system valuation system using case-based reasoning for predicting currency value of information system in each organization. A new information system valuation system is developed as a web-enabling base. Using this, users are able to estimate the value of specific information system on a real time efficiently.
