A DFS-ALOHA Algorithm with Slot Congestion Rates in a RFID System (RFID시스템에서 슬롯의 혼잡도를 이용한 DFS-ALOHA 알고리즘)

  • For the implementation of a RFID system, an anti-collision algorithm is required to identify multiple tags within the range of a RFID Reader. There are two methods of anti-collision algorithms for the identification of multiple tags, conclusive algorithms based on tree and stochastic algorithms based on slotted ALOHA. In this paper, we propose a Dynamic Framed Slotted ALOHA-Slot Congestion(DFSA-SC) Algorithm. The proposed algorithm improves the efficiency of collision resolution. The performance of the proposed DFSA-SC algorithm is showed by simulation. The identification time of the proposed algorithm is shorter than that of the existing DFSA algorithm. Furthermore, when the bit duplication of the tagID is higher, the proposed algorithm is more efficient than Query Tree algorithm.

  • This paper presents design and implementation methods of the real-time three dimensional tracking system of the gazing point. The proposed method is based on three dimensional data processing of eye images in the 3D world coordinates. The system hardware consists of two conventional CCD cameras for acquisition of stereoscopic image and computer for processing. And in this paper, the advantages of the proposed algorithm and test results ate described.

  • In this paper, we describe hardware implementation of VSB (Vestigial SideBand) mo-dulation equalization systems for HDTV (High Definition TeleVision). By modifying an adaptive equalization algorithm, we propose a hardware architecture with a low hardware cost and the performance close to floating-point operations. We also employ the pipeline concept to reduce the hardware cost. The effectiveness of the proposed hardware architecture is de- monstrated through computer simulation and the optimization result of VHDL circuit descriptions.

  • In this paper, we present the modified CMA (constant modulus algorithm) and LMS (least mean square) algorithms for digiCipher system with reduced hardware cost, in which the pipelined architecture is employed. They yield the performance comparable to that using floating-point operations. We show the effecstiveness of the proposed architecture through the implementation results using VHDL.

  • This paper investigates a new approach for Li-Ion battery state-of-charge (SOC) estimation using sliding mode observer (SMO) technique including parameters aging compensation via recursive least squares (RLS). The main advantages of this approach would be low computational load, easiness of implementation along with the robustness of the method for internal battery model parameters estimation. The proposed algorithm was first tested on a set of acquired battery data using implementation in Simulink and later developed as C-code module for firmware application.

  • Pronouns are frequently used in English, and their resolution is important to capture meaning of sentences. This paper provides a computational implementation for pronoun readings in English, based on Chierchia's (1988) Binding Theory in Categorial Grammar. A CCG-like system is newly devised for implementing his ideas, where syntactic phenomena are represented by the functor-argument relations of categories. This relation triggers resolution algorithms, and reflexives and pronominals are resolved succinctly. In sum, this paper gives an efficient resolution algorithm for English pronouns within Categorial Grammar.

  • In this study, we present an approach to parallelizing OPF that is suitable for distributed implementation and is applicable to very large inter-connected power systems. The approach could be used by utilities for optimal economy interchange without disclosing details of their operating costs to competitors. It could also be used to solve several other computational tasks, such as state estimation and power flow, in a distributed manner. The proposed algorithm was demonstrated with several case study systems.

  • An implementation of robust stereo matching algorithm under variable illumination conditions is presented in this paper. By applying window-based matchingmethod to global stereo matching algorthm using belief propagation, our implemented system shows low error rate and could efficiently cope with general radiometric disimilarities between images acquired from two different point of views.

  • In this paper, we describe an implementation of indexing and presentation system conforming to TV-Anytime standards. This system has a metadata indexing scheme for multimedia contents, a video indexing algorithm for news and soccer videos, and an MPEG-2 TS player for nonlinear browsing. We also implement an authoring tool for the algorithms mentioned above.
