Regional Impacts of Developed City Festival - The Case of the Hi Seoul Festival - (신생 도시축제의 지역영향인식 구조모형 - 하이서울페스티벌을 대상으로 -)

  • This study is to analyze impacts of a newly developed festival based on place attachment and involvement theories using SEM. The results are that there are positive relationships between festival involvement and festival impacts, but there are negative relationships between place attachment and the impacts. The results mean that residents may have not enough interaction with the newly developed festival. Therefore, the findings suggest that organizers and managers are need to make efforts to communicate with citizens and to enlarge place attachments with the festival.

  • The purpose of this study is to analysis the economic impacts of regional cultural festival via using the regional input-output model. In order to achieve this purpose, calculate output, value added and employment multiplier impacts of the Jeonju International Film Festival. The impacts of the JIFF on regional economic follow as ; Output is 112 hundred million won, value added is 53 hundred million won and employes is 254 labors. We need a new following strategies to obtain highly positive impacts from regional cultural festival. It needs to made networks among sight-seeing places, cultural remains, restaurants, hotels and entertainment institutions, in order to made visitors and customers expend much.

Residents' Perception Differences on the Community Festival Impacts (지역축제의 영향에 대한 지역주민의 지각 차이 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the perceptions of local residents towards the impact of Geumsan ginseng festival. This study was trying to examine the perception differences between groups of resident by tourism relatedness. Self-administered questionnaire survey was administered for the Geumsan residents. Frequency analysis, factor analysis, regression analysis, and t-test was administered for the perception differences. Using social exchange theory, it was revealed that tourism relatedness was relatively useful to test the perceptions differences of residents towards festival impacts. Tourism related residents perceived positive impacts more strongly and negative impacts Jess strongly compare to non related residents. The result suggested that residents' perception of festival impacts was dependent on the level of tourism relatedness and implications are drawn for community tourism policy and management.

Visitors' Behaviors and Economic Impacts of the Mulbit Festival at Suncheon Bay National Garden, Korea (순천만국가정원 물빛축제의 방문객 행태와 경제적 효과 분석)

  • The Suncheon Bay National Garden and Suncheon Bay Wetland Reserve in Suncheon city are becoming a famous tourist place in national wide. This study investigates the visitors' behavior and economic impacts of the Mulbit Festival held in Suncheon Bay National Garden from July to August 2017. Results of visitors' behaviors showed that the total number of visitors to the festival were 802,825; 75.0% of respondents were outside visitors; 52% of respondents were accommodation visitors; 52.8% of respondents had a plan to visit downtown of Suncheon city. Results of economic impacts of the Mulbit festival showed that the per capita average consumption expenditure of outside visitors and inside visitors were respectively 112,793 won and 17,269 won; the total direct economic impacts was 57 billion won and production, income, and value added inducement impacts among the total indirect economic impacts were respectively 91.9 billion won, 19.1 billion won, and 41.3 billion won.

Economic Impacts of Regional Festivities : A Case of Seosan Migratory Bird Festival (지역축제의 경제적 파급효과 : 2006 서산천수만 세계철새 기행전의 경우)

  • This study evaluates the economic impacts of regional festivals and cultural events by utilizing regional input-output models of Seosan and Chungnam, which are derived by using a location-quotient approach. Tourism industry has modest forward and backward linkages with other industries, but its impacts on regional income and employment are much larger than other industries including manufacturing industry. Strong impacts on income and employment seem to provide rational for promoting tourism industry in Seosan and Chungnam. The Seosan Migratory Bird Festival increased city outputs approximately by 3929 million Won, increased employment by 56 people, and increased total income of the province by 774 million Won. All of the economic impacts were mostly concentrated in service related industries,

The Impacts of Positive Festival Memory on Traveler's Experience Sharing: An Online Friendship Moderation Model

  • This study aims to examine 1) the influence of festival emotional and function values on travelers' positive festival memory, festival attachment, and experience sharing behavior, and (2) the moderation effect of online friendship among the path. In the present study, the proposed model was developed based on the MTS from 340 collected participants who have experienced the festival held in Guangdong Province in China. The SPSS and AMOS were used for statistical analysis. The results revealed that emotional and function festival values are positively related to the positive festival memory of travelers; positive festival memory significantly influences festival attachment and experience sharing behavior of travelers. Meanwhile, festival attachment also has a significantly positive effect on the experience-sharing behavior of travelers. Moreover, the presented differential experience sharing behavior of travelers follows the level of their online friendship. Travelers with high online friendships presented higher sharing behavior than travelers with low online friendships. Depending on the results of this study, we could provide some theoretical implications for future festival research and online communication research. These results could provide some practical implications for festival managers to develop more communication strategies.

  • This study reviewed previous studies about Relationships between Festival Participation and Festival Evaluations. Also relationships among the quality of festival participation and festival evaluation factors identified from previous researches were studied. According to the results in view of the relationship between the quality of festival participation and festival performances, hypotheses about the relationship between physical environment and contents identification and about the one between customer experience awareness and loyalty were rejected. On the other hand, the rest of hypotheses were supported having positive impacts.

  • This research the impacts of the experiential marketing elements to the festival brand loyalty and the results are as follow. First, the research showed 2 difference parts as the age and income in the experience and cognitive items. Second, it showed all items of sensory experiences of experiential marketing, emotional experience, cognitive experiences positively affect to the festival brand loyalty. Through these results, first, we could suggest a new data for the development of the festival experience marketing for the enhancement of the festival brands in the future. Second, as the new research applying the festival and experiential marketing, we could found the experiential marketing through the intangible goods as like the festival could affect to the reinforcing of the brand loyalty.

  • This study investigates the conceptional structure between festival service quality, visitor's satisfaction, loyalty and festival effects in the Juwangsan Sudalrae mountainous local festival. In order to analyze the structural equation model the paper employed the LISREL (linear structural relationships) approach, covariance structural equation model. Data of 445 visitors were collected from the Juwangsan Sudalrae festival in 2008. Research findings showed that experience, facility and service are positively related to visitors' satisfaction. In addition, visitors' satisfaction is related to loyalty and festival effects. One of the major research findings is that the festival service most affects visitors' satisfaction. This implies that the host of mountainous local festival must put great emphasis on organizing hospitality and festival information. This will lead the festival to a great success and ultimately bring positive impacts to the mountainous residents.

  • This study was designed to analyze the impacts of the Festival's service quality to identify influence of Festival visitor's attitude and behavior. The result of the verification are follows : Fist festival's perceived service quality affecting potential visitors' attitude. Second potential visitors' attitude affect their behavior. This finding is contribute to the understanding of festival attendee behavior, to give useful suggestion to festival's effective development and management. Quality of festival the research which precedes in the object measuring element in the center escape. Integral part the service quality of festival escape, service quality integral part of at that resultant festival 5 dimensions became escape. This findings contribute to the understanding of festival attendee behavior, providing researchers and practitioners with insights into how effectively to design a festival.
