Research of sustainable Social-Economy Business Model Development utilizing Internal Resource -Case study of Incheon International Airport Corporation- (내부자원을 활용한 지속가능한 사회적경제 비즈니스모델 개발 연구 -인천국제공항공사 사례 중심으로-)

  • Many domestic companies have connections with social enterprise as one of the corporate social responsibility. However, majority of those connections are typically occasional, one-time donation. Therefore, current study focused on how to develop/nurture sustainable business model of social economy, which utilizes the companies' internal resources enabling communities to actually feel the impact. Literature survey for 25 reports and 123 business models for the past 5 years was performed and analyzed in terms of social-economy business models and job creation. It was found that the success factors of the job creation are: internal resources analysis, business model development, and support activities for execution (probono). Based upon the findings, DIDOV (Define-Identify-Design-Optimize-Verify) methodology was used to understand the effects of government policies and technological environment. As an exemplary case, Incheon International airport Corporation was selected and investigated for internal resources and related business models. Finally, 9 social-economy business models are derived for Incheon International airport Corporation in relation to the airport services offered.

Thermal Pattern Comparison between 2D Multicore Processors and 3D Multicore Processors (2차원 구조와 3차원 구조에 따른 멀티코어 프로세서의 온도 분석)

  • Unfortunately, in current microprocessors, increasing the frequency causes increased power consumption and reduced reliability whereas it improves the performance. To overcome the power and thermal problems in the singlecore processors, multicore processors has been widely used. For 2D multicore processors, interconnection is regarded as one of the major constraints in performance and power efficiency. To reduce the performance degradation and the power consumption in 2D multicore processors, 3D integrated design technique has been studied by many researchers. Compared to 2D multicore processors, 3D multicore processors get the benefits of performance improvement and reduced power consumption by reducing the wire length significantly. However, 3D multicore processors have serious thermal problems due to high power density, resulting in reliability degradation. Detailed thermal analysis for multicore processors can be useful in designing thermal-aware processors. In this paper, we analyze the impact of workload distribution, distance to the heat sink, and number of stacked dies on the processor temperature. We also analyze the effects of the temperature on overall system performance. Especially, this paper presents the guideline for thermal-aware multicore processor design by analyzing the thermal problems in 2D multicore processors and 3D multicore processors.

Quantification of Thermal Insulation by Clothing Items and Analysis of Influencing Factors (단일의복의 보온력 정량화와 영향 요인)

  • The purpose of the present study was to quantify the thermal insulation of garments by item and examine factors influencing clothing insulation. A total of 769 garments in clo unit were collected and classified into 12 categories: blouses/shirts (95 items, BS), T-shirts/sweaters (62 items, TS), vest (23 items, VT), cardigans (23 items, CD), jackets/coats (75 items, JC), sport outerwear (including padding jackets)(48 items, SO), trousers (23 items, TR), skirts (56 items, SK), dresses (28 items, DS), underwear (150 items, UW), sleepwear (50 items, SW), and personal protective clothing (59 items, PPC). The results showed that clothing insulation was $0.21{\pm}0.01clo$ for the BS, $0.22{\pm}0.01clo$ for TS, $0.12{\pm}0.00clo$ for VT, $0.23{\pm}0.02clo$ for CD, $0.40{\pm}0.02clo$ for JC, $0.49{\pm}0.03clo$ for SO, $0.21{\pm}0.01clo$ for TR, $0.18{\pm}0.01clo$ for SK, $0.34{\pm}0.03clo$ for DS, $0.09{\pm}0.01clo$ for UW, $0.42{\pm}0.03clo$ for SW, and $0.56{\pm}0.03clo$ for PPC (p<.001). The most influential factors among the seven factors for thermal insulation of garments were clothing weight and covering area; however, the explanatory powers of two factors differed according to clothing categories. The covering area had more significant impact on clothing insulation in cardigans, jackets/coats, trousers, and dresses than clothing weight. Covering areas and clothing weight were the most influential factors in the following categories: blouses/shirt, T-shirts/sweaters, skirts, sleepwear and personal protective clothing. The garment weight was the most important factor for thermal insulation for the sport outerwear.

Life Cycle Assessments and Effect Factors in the Planning Stage of Steel Bridge (강교량의 기획단계에서의 환경부하 평가 및 영향요인에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, interest for environmental pollution in various fields is on the increase, and the researches on the life cycle assessment of environmental performance assessment method for calculating the environmental loads are currently most performed. It is expected to have a significant influence on the environment, since SOC infrastructures are go through a variety of materials, manufacturing process, however it is judged that researches and measures for environmental pollution is insufficient. In this study, we build the data for 204 of steel bridge designed after 2000 year, and the 100 of bridge which were selected to from obtained results were calculated the environmental loads at the planning stage based on the life cycle assessment. In addition, standard classification systems in work type for steel bridges were established. Based on this, the basic design data and input materials for the bridges are applied to the LCI DB, and the environmental load for required material is evaluated and is shown as Eco-point. Environmental loads obtained from this study, it is judged that can be utilized as a basic data for the process of the life cycle assessment in future steel bridge design.

  • The purpose of this study is to analysis the recognition of engineering professionals in Primary and middle school education. For the study, survey was proceeded through experts in engineering. The result of research follows. First, experts in engineering recognized that engineering has a significant impact in the national economic development and competitiveness. Experts in engineering, had a recognition consistent to some extent for engineering. and we have found engineering's own characteristics that emphasize "problem solving and design, innovation and creativity, economy optimization". Second, experts in engineering recognized that engineering education in Primary and middle school rarely take place, and also does not provide enough information for students. Third, experts in engineering recognized that engineering education is very needed in Primary and middle school. Through this, students can understand creative design problem-solving process. In addition, Experts of engineering, have a variety of educational demands for School level to the level of engineering education should start, level educational purposes, how to apply effective and so on.

Ensiled Green Tea Waste as Partial Replacement for Soybean Meal and Alfalfa Hay in Lactating Cows

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effects of protein supplementation of green tea waste (GTW) on the performance of lactating cows. Another aim was to increase resource utilization and to eliminate any environmental negative impact from the tea waste. GTW from a beverage company was ensiled at a low pH (<4.0) and high acetic acid and lactic acid concentration, and it contained high crude protein (CP, 34.8%), total extractable tannins (TET, 9.2%) and condensed tannin (CT, 1.7%). Two experiments were conducted to investigate the palatability and performance in lactating cows fed GTW. In the palatability trial, three lactating cows were allocated to three dietary treatments in a 3$\times$3 Latin square design. The animals were offered a total mixed ration (TMR) including GTW at rates of 0, 2.5 and 5.0% on a dry matter (DM) basis. Total DM intake was not different among the treatments. In the performance trial, four lactating cows were used in a 2$\times$2 Latin square design with a 3 week sampling period. GTW was incorporated into TMR at a rate of 5.0% on a DM and 10.0% on a CP basis. Thus GTW replaced alfalfa hay and soybean meal at a level of 25.0% on a DM. DM and CP intake were not affected by the inclusion of GTW, whereas TET and CT intake were significantly increased (p<0.001). Milk production, milk composition and the efficiency of milk production were not altered by the GTW inclusion. Although ruminal pH and VFA, and blood urea nitrogen were not changed, ruminal $NH_{3}-N$ and plasma total cholesterol were relatively low in the GTW group, but not significantly different. The excretion of urinary purine derivatives and estimated MN supply were also not significantly affected by GTW treatment. It is therefore concluded that GTW can be used as a protein source without any detrimental effects on the performance of lactating cows.

A Numerical Analysis on the Determination of Shock Loss Coefficient at Flared Intersection of Network-type Double-deck Road Tunnel (네트워크형 복층 도로터널 확폭구간에서의 충격손실 계수 결정을 위한 수치해석 연구)

  • The purpose of this study is to analyze ventilation design factor for network-type double-deck road tunnel that have been developed actively around the world. A numerical analysis was carried out through computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to derive shock loss coefficient that occurs due to the change in cross sectional area at both merging section and diverging section. The model used for the numerical analysis is real-scale model and the reliability of the result is secured by comparing with the coefficient of the previous studies. As a result of this study, shock loss coefficient was calculated depending on the change in cross-sectional area ratio and was higher than the result of previous studies in case of both merging section and diverging section. It is considered that the characteristics of the geometrical structure of network-type double-deck road tunnel have a great impact on shock loss coefficient. Therefore, the result of this study is expected to be helpful for more accurate ventilation design of network-type double-deck road tunnel.

Effect of women consumers purchase by an attribute of cosmetic Advertising Model (화장품 광고 모델의 속성이 여성 소비자의 구매욕구에 미치는 영향)

  • This paper is a study on how women consumers purchase are affected by models who appear in advertisements for cosmetics, focusing especially on studies concerning the impact that models have on advertisement strategies of the cosmetic industry in korea. In surveys conducted, consumers responded that cosmetic advertisement models should examplify a expertness and trustworthiness attitude more than just display their own physical attractiveness. The consumers who bought cosmetic products based on its endorsement from particular models responded that they had a positive reaction to the models physical attractiveness and likability while experiencing a negative reaction to the model's expertness and trustworthiness attitude. Women consumers are interested in cosmetic advertisement models, but do not necessarily trust them. Hence, the use of a Particular model does not directly affect the consumers Purchasing decision. Famous stars often appear in cosmetic advertisements in korea, and targeted consumers have a very positive response to their physical attractiveness, familiarity and perceived likability. However, the consumers have a completely negative response to the models in regards to their expertness, trustworthiness, and their sense of similarity with the model. The models, then, should be used in these advertisements to try and uphold the fellowing qualities. expertness in regards to having some knowledge of, experience with, and expertness in using the cosmetic produces, trustworthiness when expressing their own opinion of the product, matching image of products and targeted consumers.

Development of a Crash Cushion Using the Frictional and Inertial Energy by Computer Simulation (컴퓨터 시뮬레이션에 의한 관성과 마찰 에너지를 이용하는 충격흡수시설의 개발)

  • Crash cushions are protective devices that prevent errant vehicles from impacting on fixed objects. This function is accomplished by gradually decelerating a vehicle to a safe stop in a relatively short distance. Commonly used crash cushions generally employ one of two concepts to accomplish this function. The first concept involves the absorption of the kinetic energy of a moving vehicle by crushable or plastically deformable materials and the other one involves the transfer of the momentum of a moving vehicle to an expendable mass of material located in the vehicle's path. Crash cushions using the first concept are generally referred to as compression crash cushions and crash cushions using the other concept are generally referred to as inertial crash cushion. The objective of this research is the development of a compression-type crash cushion by employing the two concepts simultaneously. To minimize the number of full-scale crash tests for the development of the crash cushion, preliminary design guide considering inertial and frictional energy absorption was constructed and computer simulation was performed. LS-DYNA program, which is most widely used to analyze roadside safety features, was used for the computer simulation. The developed crash cushion satisfied the safety evaluation criteria for various impact conditions of CC2 performance level in the Korean design guide.

Analysis of Effects of Reshoring Works on Short and Long Term Deflections of Flat Plates (플랫 플레이트 구조의 장단기 처짐 제어에 대한 동바리 재설치 작업의 효과 분석)

  • RC flat plates may be governed by a serviceability as well as a strength condition, and a construction sequence and its impact on the distributions of gravity loads among slabs tied by shores are decisive factors influencing short and long term behaviors of flat plate. Over-loading and tensile cracking in early-aged slabs significantly increase the deflection of a flat plate system under construction, and a reshoring work may be helpful in reducing slab deflections by controlling the vertical distributions of loads in a multi-shored flat plate system. In this study, a effect of reshoring works on short and long term deflections of flat plate systems are analyzed. The slab construction loads with various reshoring schemes and slab design and construction conditions are defined by a simplified method, and the practical calculation of slab deflections with considering construction sequences and concrete cracking and long term effects is applied. From parametric studies, the reshoring works are verified to reduce slab deflections, and the optimized conditions for the reshoring works and slab design and constructions are discussed.
