With population growth, industrialization, and urbanization within the watershed, the hydrologic response changed dramatically, resulting in increases in peak flow with lesser time to peak and total runoff with shortened time of concentration. Infiltration is directly affected by initial soil moisture condition, which is a key element to determine runoff. Influence of the initial soil moisture condition on hydrograph analysis should be evaluated to assess land use change impacts on runoff and non-point source pollution characteristics. The Long-Term Hydrologic Impact Assessment (L-THIA) model has been widely used for the estimation of the direct runoff worldwide. The L-THIA model was applied to the Little Eagle Creek (LEC) watershed and Its estimated direct runoff values were compared with the BFLOW filtered direct runoff values by other researchers. The $R^2$ value Was 0.68 and the Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient value was 0.64. Also, the L-THIA estimates were compared with those separated using optimized $BFI_{max}$ value for the Eckhardt filter. The $R^2$ value and the Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient value were 0.66 and 0.63, respectively. Although these higher statistics could indicate that the L-THIA model is good in estimating the direct runoff reasonably well, the Antecedent Moisture Condition (AMC) was not adjusted in that study, which might be responsible for mismatches in peak flow between the L-THIA estimated and the measured peak values. In this study, the L-THIA model was run with AMC adjustment for direct runoff estimation. The $R^2$ value was 0.80 and the Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient value was 0.78 for the comparison of L-THIA simulated direct runoff with the filtered direct runoff. However there was 42.44% differences in the L-THIA estimated direct runoff and filtered direct runoff. This can be explained in that about 80% of the simulation period is classified as 'AMC I' condition, which caused lower CN values and lower direct runoff estimation. Thus, the coefficients of the equation to adjust CN II to CN I and CN III depending on AMC condition were modified to minimize adjustments impacts on runoff estimation. The $R^2$ and the Nash-Sutcliffe coefficient values increase, 0.80 and 0.80 respectively. The difference in the estimated and filtered direct runoff decreased from 42.44% to 7.99%. The results obtained in this study indicate the AMC needs to be considered for accurate direct runoff estimation using the L-THIA model. Also, more researches are needed for realistic adjustment of the AMC in the L-THIA model.
Purpose - Unstable vegetable prices have been one of the major concerns in Korean agricultural and food marketing system. The Korean government has implemented a number of policy instruments, including government purchasing programs in order to alleviate fluctuations in vegetable prices. The economic impact of policy instruments has been assessed based on the average monthly price change rate before and after the implementation of the policy. However, this approach failed to provide a net impact of policy measures on price stabilization in the vegetable markets, as policy impacts could not be successfully distinguished from other effects on price changes in the vegetable market. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the net impact of the government purchasing program on the price volatility of dried red pepper which is considered one of the major vegetables in Korea. Research design, data, and methodology - This study develops a monthly dynamic partial equilibrium model of Korean dried red pepper market. Behavioral equations in the model were estimated by OLS and synthetic method based on the annual and monthly time series data from 1993 to 2015. The model is first simulated to yield actual dried red pepper market conditions in 2015 as a baseline and then compared it to the scenario assuming that there were no government purchases of dried red pepper in 2015. Results - According to the ex-post scenario analysis using the developed model, without the government procurements in 2015, the average monthly price change rate and the value of coefficient of variation of dried red pepper in 2015 would be respectably 7.9 percent and 0.10. It is relatively higher than the actual average monthly price change rate and the value of coefficient of variation of dried red pepper in 2015 which were respectively 1.7 percent and 0.06. Conclusions - The ex-post simulation results in this study shows that if there were no government purchases of dried red pepper in 2015, the dried red pepper market would have had much higher volatile price movements. The results of this study would provide useful information for future price stabilization policy of vegetable markets in Korea.
Parts of damaged trees are being transplanted in accordance with the Environmental Impact Assessment Manual. Problems such as death or poor growth are constantly being addressed in the process of transplanting trees from the forest they originally inhabited to temporary and final transplant sites. The purpose of this study is to analyze the differences in soil properties in the surrounding forest, the temporary transplant site, and the construction site and to suggest methods for improving the soil to make it suitable for the growth of transplanted trees. For 10 development projects, 2 soil samples were sampled from the surrounding forest, temporary transplant site, and construction site. A total of 60 soil samples were analyzed for physical and chemical properties. Among the physical properties such as coefficient of permeability, available moisture, and hardness, and chemical properties such as acidity, organic matter content, total nitrogen, and available P showed significant differences among groups. The soil of the construction site is harder than the surrounding forest because of construction equipments, the coefficient of permeability is higherthan the surrounding forest because of high sand content, and the available moisture was low. It does not retain the moisture necessary for plants in the soil and drains immediately. It is necessary to implement tillage to improve the physical properties and structure of the soil. In addition, it is necessary to cover the surface with wood chips or fallen leaves after adding mature organic matter to improve the physical and chemical properties of the soil together.

In this paper, we conducted an industry input-output analysis to examine the impact of the advertising industry on the movie industry. As a result, the production inducement effect increased from 1993 to 2008, and it decreased from 2009 to 2012. In 2014, the production inducement effect increased to 0.028 won. Value added effect is found that it fluctuated yearly. As a result of the sensitivity coefficient of the advertising industry, it decreased increasingly. In the case of the influence coefficient for backward linkage effect, it showed a decreasing tendency after 1998, but it increased from the beginning of 2009. This study examines the influence of the advertising industry on the input of the output by analyzing the impact of the advertising industry on the movie industry. As a follow-up study, it is necessary to compare the impact of the advertising industry on the movie industry and other industries such as publishing and broadcasting.
In this paper, we analyze the economic ripple effects of technology related to the unmanned aerial vehicle industry by applying industry association analysis. Specifically, the effects of employment creation, value added inducement, sensitivity coefficient, and influence coefficient can be calculated, and implications for the analysis result are presented. As a result, the employment inducement effect was confirmed to be 10.017 persons per 1 billion won of investment. The value added inducement effect was much higher than the other manufacturing industry average (employment inducement coefficient: 2.285, value added inducement coefficient: 0.581) when the 1 won budget was added, resulting in 0.9771 won added value. In the unmanned aerial vehicle industry, the coefficient of sensitivity, which means the front chain effect, is 0.7870, which is lower than the manufacturing average (sensitivity coefficient 1.125), and the coefficient of influence, which means the backward chain effect, is 1.161, which is higher than the manufacturing average (influence coefficient: 1.116). Therefore, it is classified as the final demand manufacturing industry. This means that the unmanned aerial vehicle industry is an industry that is less affected by economic fluctuations and can be interpreted as an industry with a greater economic impact than other sectors. Based on these data, it can be used to establish the R&D investment direction policy of the unmanned aerospace industry.

Permeability can not be expressed as a function of porosity alone, it depends on the porosity, pore size and distribution, and tortuosity of pore channels in concrete. There has been considerable interest in the relationship between microstructure and transport in cementitious materials, however, it is very rare to deal with the theoretical study on gas permeability coefficient in connection with carbonation of concrete and the effect of volumetric fraction of cement paste or aggregate on the permeability coefficient. The majority of these researches have not dealt with this issue combined with carbonation of concrete, although carbonation can significantly impact on the permeability coefficient of concrete. In this study, fundamental approach to compute gas permeability of (non)carbonated concrete is suggested. For several compositions of cement pastes, the gas permeability coefficient was calculated with the analytical formulation, followed by a microstructure-based model. For carbonated concrete, reduced porosity was calculated and this was used for calculating the gas permeability coefficeint. As the result of calculation of gas permeability for carbonated concrete, carbonation leaded to the significant reduction of gas permeability coefficient and this was obvious for concrete with high w/c ratio. Meanwhile, the relationship between gas permeability and water permeability has a linear function for cement paste based on Klinkenberg effect, however, which is not effective for concrete. For the evidence of the modeling, YOON's test was accomplished and these results were compared to each other.
Due to climate change, coastal areas are being flooded with torrential rain, typhoons, and tsunamis. In addition, non-point source pollutants (NPSs) that accumulated on the ground, streets, and buildings during the dry season are washed off by rain and stormwater runoff, which adds to the damage associated with environmental pollution, e.g., pollution that makes its way into the ocean. Recently, low impact development (LID) has been considered as a means of controlling water circulation and NPSs. In the coastal area, permeable blocks have been constructed mainly to reduce the flood damage caused by waves. Some important design factors that must be considered to ensure long-term performance are the permeability coefficient, clogging, and the efficiency of the removal of total suspended solids (TSS), but currently there are no standardized design criteria or testing techniques that are used worldwide. Herein, we analyzed the permeability coefficient and the TSS removal efficiency tendency according to the permeability area ratio with an easily-detachable, permeable block filled with calcinated yellow soils as the filter media. Our lab-scale tests indicated that, when the permeability area ratio was 25%, the reduction of the permeability coefficient after clogged was 11%, which was a significant decrease compared to other cases. Permeability persistence increased when the permeability area ratio increased from 50% to 75%. The TSS removal efficiency decreased as the permeability area ratio increased. Our pilot-scale test indicated that the TSS removal efficiency was more than 80% higher in all cases. We also found that the permeability persistence was excellent as the permeability area ratio increased, and, in actual construction, it is effective to set 5.3% of the total area as permeable area in terms of permeability and economic feasibility.
In this study, we analyzed typhoon affecting Korean Peninsula and runoff characteristic changes according to the typhoon based on Sumjin river dam, a representative multi-purpose dam. We quantified typhoon flow by applying the typhoon domain, and will provide base data for climate change adaptation and counterstrategy through correlation analysis of the change of typhoon statistical data and Indicators of Hydrologic Alterations (IHA). Korean Peninsula impact typhoon has a great effect on the scale of peak flow and the change of occurrence time. The occurrence frequency and duration of the peak flow were analyzed to be relatively unrelated to the typhoon affected by the Korean peninsula. These changes were also confirmed in the correlation analysis results. Correlation coefficient between the peak flow (0.41) and peak flow occurrence time (correlation coefficient = 0.83) was positively correlated with the Korean peninsula influenced typhoon.

The Korea Sport Talent Search System (KOSTASS) can easily assess potential of Korean youth in 23 sport events and to identify sports talents who have high potential in track-and-field, swimming and gymnastics. The purpose of present study was to analysis relationship between sports talent test scores and KOSTASS scores. Physique, physical fitness, motor ability and physiological tests including skeletal age were administrated. Data of 201 elementary students who aged 7 to 12 living in Seoul area were collected. For pure association analysis, Pearson correlation coefficient and partial correlation coefficient are used and stepwise regression analysis is used for selecting important sports talent test scores. The results show that skeletal age, weight, chest circumference, 50-meter run, and half-squat jump have relatively low impact on six KOSTASS scores. The KOSTASS program would contribute to identify talented youth in sports among Korean youth population and success for international sports competition.
Tunnel excavation leads to a disturbance on the initial stress balance of surrounding soils, which causes convergences around the tunnel and settlements at the ground surface. Considering the effective impact of settlements on the structures at the surface, it is necessary to estimate them, especially in urban areas. In the present study, ground settlements due to the excavation of East-West Line 7 of the Tehran Metro (EWL7) and the Abuzar tunnels are evaluated and the effect of the lateral earth pressure coefficient ($K_0$) on their extension is investigated. The excavation of the tunnels was performed by TBMs (Tunnel Boring Machines). The coefficient of lateral earth pressure ($K_0$) is one of the most important geotechnical parameters for tunnel design and is greatly influenced by the geological characteristics of the surrounding soil mass along the tunnel route. The real (in-situ) settlements of the ground surface were measured experimentally using leveling methods along the studied tunnels and the results were compared with evaluated settlements obtained from both semi-empirical and numerical methods (using the finite difference software FLAC3D). The comparisons permitted to show that the adopted numerical models can effectively be used to predict settlements induced by a tunnel excavation. Then a numerical parametric study was conducted to show the influence of the $K_0$ values on the ground settlements. Numerical investigations also showed that the shapes of settlement trough of the studied tunnels, in a transverse section, are not similar because of their different diameters and depths of the tunnels.
