Objectives : This study was conducted with objectives of comparatively investigating effects of original Kyungokgo and Iksuyongjingo plus Sparassis crispa which is gamibang of Kyungokgo on antioxidant improvement, immunity improvement, and sensory evaluation.Methods : Total phenol and DPPH scavenging activity were measured to determine antioxidant improvement of original Kyungokgo and Iksuyongjingo plus Sparassis crispa. While, blood and serum study were conducted and effect on the cytokines were observed from the immunosuppressed rat induced by methotrexate (MTX). Control group was administered with a drinking water, Kyungokgo group was administered with a original Kyungokgo 200 mg/kg, and Iksuyongjingo plus Sparassis crispa group was administered with a Iksuyongjingo plus Sparassis crispa 200 mg/kg for 20 days. Further, intensity and preference evaluation were performed as sensory evaluation.Results : It was observed that Iksuyongjingo plus Sparassis crispa significantly increased total phenol and DPPH scavenging activity, proving that these can improve antioxidant activities. In the immunosuppressed rat, Iksuyongjingo plus Sparassis crispa significantly decreased IL-2 level, significantly increased Il-10 level, and significantly increased neutrophils, RBC, HGB, and HCT levels, indicating that it is effective in increasing immunity. Further, Iksuyongjingo plus Sparassis crispa significantly improved intensity and preference in the sensory evaluation.Conclusions : From the above results, it is concluded that Iksuyongjingo plus Sparassis crispa which is gamibang of Kyungokgo can act effectively on improving antioxidant activity and immunity, and can attribute convenient intake by improving diet preference.

Purpose : This study was designed to examine the blood glucose control and increase immunity effects of ${\beta}-glucan$ added cooked barley noodle in streptozotocin-induced diabetes mice with a high-fat diet. Method : Forty-eight male ICR mice (6-week-old) were fed AIN-93 diet for 4 weeks. Mice were divided into six groups: normal, diabetic, cooked barley noodle, ${\beta}-glucan$ (5 %) control and two experimental groups (${\beta}-glucan$ 2.5 % and 5 %, cooked barley noodle contained diet with ${\beta}-glucan$ 2.5 % and 5 % w/w). Diabetes mellitus was induced by intraperitoneal injection of streptozotocin (150 mg/kg). Result : Blood glucose level was significantly decreased in groups consuming cooked barley noodles, but no significant difference was exhibited in diabetic and ${\beta}-glucan$ control group. These results were in accordance with the result of oral glucose tolerance test. Blood interfereon $(IFN)-{\gamma}$ was measured in order to identify increase immunity effect of ${\beta}-glucan$ in diabetic mice. Inhibited $IFN-{\gamma}$ concentration was recovered in cooked barley noodle and ${\beta}-glucan$ control group. Moreover, $IFN-{\gamma}$ concentration was dramatically elevated in ${\beta}-glucan$ contained cooked barley noodle groups in a dose dependent manner. Streptozotocin induced AST and ALT activities were decreased in ${\beta}-glucan$ contained cooked barley noodle groups with a strong lipid lowering effect. Conclusion : Although addition of ${\beta}-glucan$n did not give any significant synergistic effect on cooked barley noodle in blood glucose regulation, suppressed $IFN-{\gamma}$ production by STZ was dramatically enhanced by ${\beta}-glucan$ supplementation in a dose dependent manner. Liver function and blood lipid profile were also in accordance with the increase immunity effect of ${\beta}-glucan$. Consequently, ${\beta}-glucan$ added cooked barley noodle can be consumed as good diets for patients with chronic diseases with reduced immunity.

This study was done in order investigate the object and the method of animal experimental paper on immunity The results were obtained as follows: 1. Rat, mouse, kk mouse and rabbit were used for experimental paper singe or combine. 2. It was examined a way of bringing about a lowering of immunity used as MTX and other reagent, and it has caused many cases which lead to bring about a lowering of immunity by causing specified disease. 3. It was examined, according to items of my observation. there are mainly hemagglutinin titer, hemolysin titer, phagocytic activity, Rosette forming cells, delayed type hypersensitivity, IL-2 productivity and NK cell activity in survey. 4. Most used drugs and 경혈(aqupuncture paint) have the characters reinforcing a fair spirit and reinforcing an unfair spirit(a miasma or poisonous air). 5. It is necessary to a deep study of an experimental way about aqua-acupuncture on immunity in the future.

Purpose: This study was carried out to investigate the anti-tumor metastasis effect and activation of innate immunity by extracts of Mori radicis cortex. Methods: Anti-tumor metastatic experiment was conducted in vitro and in vivo by using colon 26-M3.1 carcinoma cell, L5178Y-R lymphoma cell and HeLa cell. To observe the activation of innate immunity by extracts of Mori radicis cortex, we estimated IL-6, IL-10, IL-12, TNF-${\alpha}$ from peritoneal macrophages. And we evaluated the activation of NK cell by using anti-asialo-GM1 serum. Results: We found that the administration of Mori radicis cortex extracts significantly inhibited tumor metastasis. In an in vitro cytotoxicity analysis, Mori radicis cortex affected tumor cell growth above specific concentration. Mori radicis cortex also stimulated peritoneal macrophage, which was followed by the production of various cytokines such as IL-6, IL-10, IL-12, TNF-${\alpha}$. The depletion of NK cells by anti-asialo GM1 serum partly abolished the inhibitory effect of Mori radicis cortex on tumor metastasis. Conclusion: Mori radicis cortex appears to have considerable activity on the anti-metastasis by activation of innate immunity.

Hepatitis E virus (HEV) infections cause epidemic or sporadic acute hepatitis, which are mostly self-limiting. However, viral infection in immunocompromised patients and pregnant women may result in serious consequences, such as chronic hepatitis and liver damage, mortality of the latter of which reaches up to 20-30%. Type I interferon (IFN)-induced antiviral immunity is known to be the first-line defense against virus infection. Upon HEV infection in the cell, the virus genome is recognized by pathogen recognition receptors, leading to rapid activation of intracellular signaling cascades. Expression of type I IFN triggers induction of a barrage of IFN-stimulated genes, helping the cells cope with viral infection. Interestingly, some of the HEV-encoded genes seem to be involved in disrupting signaling cascades for antiviral immune responses, and thus crippling cytokine/chemokine production. Antagonistic mechanisms of type I IFN responses by HEV have only recently begun to emerge, and in this review, we summarize known HEV evasion strategies and compare them with those of other hepatitis viruses.

Periodontitis is a multi-microbial disease and the comparison of a series of periodontopathogenic and non-periodontopathogenic bacteria in terms of microbe-host interaction may provide clues to understand the microbial etiology of the disease better. When we deal with twenty different bacterial species in a study, the first technical issue is how to measure the accurate concentration and use the same number of bacterial cells. We measured bacterial concentration by enumerating bacteria stained with SYTOX green for constant time using a flow cytometer and compared the results with those obtained by plate counting. Concentrations calculated by two different methods were very close. Therefore, flow cytometric counting allowed the rapid analysis of live/dead bacteria, offering the advantage of turbidity measurement and that of colony counting together.

In oriental medicine bladder cancer had been called '溺血(Hematuria)', 血淋(Blood Stranguria)', 濕熱河注(Downward Flow of Damp-heat)' and so on. The symptoms are Hematuria, Oliguria, Lower abdomen pain, febrile sensation and Anemia etc. These are similar to the symptoms of bladder cancer by modem medicine. I have experienced a bladder cancer patient who was diagnosed as stage Ⅲ. She has been treated bladder cancer with Immunity herbal acupuncture and Her clinical and objective symptoms have been better. Therefore I report this results.

Invertebrate animals, which lack adaptive immune systems, have developed other systems of biological host defense, so called innate immunity, that respond to common antigens on the cell surfaces of potential pathogens. During the past two decades, the molecular structures and functions of various defense components that participated in innate immune systems have been established in Arthropoda, such as, insects, the horseshoe crab, freshwater crayfish, and the protochordata ascidian. These defense molecules include phenoloxidases, clotting factors, complement factors, lectins, protease inhibitors, antimicrobial peptides, Toll receptors, and other humoral factors found mainly in hemolymph plasma and hemocytes. These components, which together compose the innate immune system, defend invertebrate from invading bacterial, fungal, and viral pathogens. This review describes the present status of our knowledge concerning such defensive molecules in invertebrates.

This paper introduces a gate drive IC for power modules with shoot-through immunity. A new approach uses a bootstrap diode as a high-side voltage bias and a level shift function at the same time. Therefore, the gate drive circuit becomes a simple and low-cost without conventional level shift functions such as HVIC(High-Voltage IC), optocoupler and transformer. The proposed gate drive IC is designed and fabricated using the Dongbu-Hitek's 0.35um BD350BA process. It has been tested and verified with IGBT modules.

All electric and electronic appliances require their own electromagnetic compatibility. So an industrially advanced nations have made many standards for regulation for their profits thus the researches on the electro-magnetic shielding effect(SE) are being increased. But the SE can not proved its effect by a theory alone because of complex-material problems. This study Present the correlation of the SE and immunity of radiated radio frequency of the electromagnetic field. We have analyzed the theory of shielding effect to the shield texture. It has been proved that experimental results showed this effects have intensive relations to the electromagnetic field immunity.
