치과위생사들이 인지한 노인에 대한 이미지 및 행동에 관한 연구 (A study of images of the elderly perceived by dental hygienists and their behaviors)

  • This study lays its purpose on providing basic material for managing dental hygiene care programs by grasping images of the elderly perceived by dental hygienists and their behaviors toward the elderly, who have an important role in improving the elderly's dental health in the aging society. For these purposes, the researcher conducted a self-administrative questionnaire survey of 370 dental hygienists working in dental clinics or offices located in the Seoul and Daejeon areas from June 2 to 21 in 2008 and collected data, statistical analysis of the $x^2$-test, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson Correlation used. resulting in the following findings. 1. In perceived images of the elderly according to their general characteristics, a subject group with under 8-year career showed 85.38 points, indicating the statistically significant difference (p=0.001). 2. When we look at perceived images of the elderly and behaviors toward them according their characteristics, in images of the elderly, a subject group with positive perceptions of the elderly showed 85.51 points (p=0.000), a subject group with meaningful old person(s), 84.66 points (p=0.000), a subject group living with old person(s), 86.04 points (p=0.001), and a subject group with experience in volunteer service activities, 84.11 points (p=0.001), and in behaviors toward the elderly, a subject group with positive perceptions of the elderly and with meaningful old person(s) showed 56.46 (p=0.036) and 55.91 points respectively, indicating the statistically significant difference (p=0.040). 3. Images of the elderly and behaviors toward them showed a positive correlation, indicating that the more positive images of the elderly, the more positive behaviors toward them (r=0.317). Putting these results together, it is thought that it is time to need continuous education and efforts regarding the formation of desirable relationships with and images of the elderly and behaviors toward them, for dental hygienists who have an important role in managing and enhancing the elderly's dental health in the aging society.

대학생의 노인 이미지, 지식과 고정관념 및 인식 (University Students' Images, Knowledge, and Stereotypes plus Perceptions about the Elderly)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to compare the images, knowledge, and stereotypes plus perceptions about the elderly between students in nursing class and those in other classes and to determine the correlation among variables. Methods: The subjects of this study were 400 students, 200 from nursing class and 200 from other classes(premedical students were excluded) from one university. Result: Images the elderly of all participants showed an average score of 2.96(${\pm}0.376$), total average score of knowledge about the elderly was 16.22(${\pm}2.356$), and average score for stereotypes plus perception was 2.92(${\pm}0.394$). Comparison between students in nursing class and those in the other classes showed that students in the nursing class had deeper knowledge regarding physical and physiological fields of the elderly, however they had comparatively negative cognition in the images and stereotypes plus perceptions about the elderly. In addition interest in the elderly and volunteer experiences were significantly affected by the images and stereotypes plus perceptions. Images, knowledge, and stereotypes plus perceptions about the elderly showed significant positive correlation. Conclusion: In development of curriculum related to the elderly in nursing class, development of specific and diverse approaches that will raise positive awareness of the elderly is necessary.

중장년층이 인식하는 노인 이미지와 노후생활 준비도 (The Images of the Elderly Perceived by Mid and Older-aged Adults and Their Preparation for Later Life)

  • 본 연구는 대구광역시 및 경상북도에 소재하고 있는 35세부터 64세까지의 성인들을 대상으로 중장년층이 인식하는 노인 이미지와 노후생활 준비도를 분석하였다. 이에 따른 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 중장년층이 인식하는 노인 이미지 중 심리적 이미지가 가장 긍정적이었고 다음으로 신체적 이미지, 사회적 이미지 순으로 나타났다. 학력이 높을수록, 정규직이거나 부모 모두 생존할 경우, 노인 이미지가 긍정적이었다. 그리고 기혼일 경우 노인의 심리적 이미지가 좋았으며 노인의 기준 나이를 높게 책정할수록 노인의 심리적, 사회적 이미지가 좋은 결과를 보였다. 둘째, 중장년층의 노후생활 준비도는 정서적 준비, 신체적 준비 순으로 높았다. 반면 준비가 부족한 것은 경제적 준비, 여가·사회적 준비로 나타났다. 여성일수록 학력이 높을수록, 월평균 가계수입이 높을수록, 전문직일수록, 정규직일수록, 노인의 나이 기준을 높이 책정할수록 노후생활 준비도가 높았다. 셋째, 중장년층의 노인 이미지와 노후생활 준비도는 하위요인 간에 서로 영향을 주며, 노인에 대한 이미지가 긍정적일수록 노후생활 준비를 잘하는 것으로 나타났다. 이상의 연구결과는 바람직한 노인 이미지의 개선 방향을 제시할 수 있으며, 개인과 사회적 지원의 방안을 모색하고 성공적인 노후생활 준비를 위한 교육프로그램을 개발하는데 시사한다.

비노인층이 갖는 노인 이미지 연구 (Images of the Elderly held by Non-Elderly)

  • 본 연구는 20대 이상 65세 미만 비노인층이 갖는 노인 이미지에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석 함으로써 향후 노인 이미지 향상을 위한 효과적인 전략을 개발하는데 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 "2004년도 전국 노인생활실태 및 복지욕구조사"의 가구조사 자료를 활용하였으며, 20-64세의 7,767면을 분석대상으로 하였다. 노인의 건강, 정서, 지적능력과 경제력에 대한 이미지를 부정적 이미지와 긍정적 이미지로 양분하여 로짓 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과 비노인층은 노인의 건강과 정서, 지적능력과 경제력에 대해 긍정적 이미지보다는 부정적 이미지를 갖고 있으며, 특히 청년층은 4가지 영역 중 노인의 건강에 대해 부정적 이미지를 강하게 갖고 있는 반면, 중 장년층은 경제력에 대해 부정적 이미지를 강하게 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 노인 이미지 영역별 결정요인을 분석한 결과, 응답자의 연령, 노인과의 동거여부, 노후에 대한 가치관, 거주지역 변수가 노인 이미지에 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 노인과 거주하는 사람이 그리고 도시 지역에 거주하는 사람이 노인에 대해 부정적 이미지를 갖고 있으며, 또한 자녀와의 관계에서 정서적인 밀접성을 중요시하는 가치관을 가진 사람이 노인에 대해 긍정적 이미지를 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과에 기초하여 향후 노인 이미지 향상을 위한 정책 방향을 제시하였다.

노인 여성의 패션아이템별 구매실태 및 선호이미지에 관한 연구 (A Study on Clothing Purchasing Behavior and Preference Images of the Fashion Items according to the Age Groups of the Elderly Woman)

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate the clothing purchasing behavior, clothing preference images of the elderly woman according the fashion Items by 3 age groups(65-69 yr, 70-74 yr, over 75 yr). The subjects in this study were 372 elderly women over sixty-five years old in Kimhae and Busan. The major objectives of this study were as follow; 1. Compare the differences in the fashion interest according to the age groups. 2. Compare the differences in the clothing behaviors according to the age groups. 3. Compare the differences in the preference styles of the clothing items according to the age groups. 4. Relationship between age and clothing preference images according the fashion items. The results were as follows: 1. In the fashion interests, 3 age groups of the elderly woman showed significant difference in following fashion interest. 2. In the clothing behaviors according the fashion items, 3 age groups of the elderly woman showed significant difference in the outer, the upper, the underwear, the sportswear and the accessories. 3. In the clothing preference styles according the fashion items, 3 age groups of the elderly woman showed significant difference in the length of jacket, the pants, the skirt. 4. In the clothing preference images according the fashion items, 3 age groups of the elderly woman showed significant difference in all images of the jacket, the pants, the skirt and the one-piece dress.

고령자의 우울증 정도와 선호 색채 적용 이미지의 선호도 분석 - 거실 공간을 중심으로 - (The Preference of Geriatric Depression Scale and the Images Applied to Preferable Color of the Elderly - Focused on the Living room -)

  • Recently, the concern of aging society is 'Healthy life' for the elderly and pre-elderly. Especially, realizing the 'Healthy life', it is very important for the elderly to establish living environment for holding and maintaining mental depression. Mental depression is related to dysfunction of sensory organ included physical functions. Therefore, the dysfunction of elderly's sensory organ is required to the guideline of environmental planning. In this study, among five senses, I focused visual sense due to the large proportion of environmental perception. The purpose of this study is to analyze the degree of geriatric depression and preference of simulated images applying preferable color for the elderly. This study conducted literature review and questionnaire survey. Firstly, the previous studies related with the melancholy, sense of isolation, self-regard for the elderly analyzed. Secondly, the questionnaire tool measuring the degree of geriatric depression developed. Thirdly, the tool investigating the preference for the simulated images applied main, sub, and accent colors produced. Applied preferable colors were used from the results previous study. Lastly, based on the result, the basic data of color planning were suggested. It was judged that this study is an useful as the basic guideline of color planning for the elderly's residential spaces and the potential value of considering geriatric depression and the color planning in terms of the elderly's visual sense.

Evaluation of Clothing Colors for Elderly People (2) - Comparison between Elderly Women and Female Students in Korea -

  • The present study focused on the color of clothing for elderly Korean women, from the viewpoint of helping elderly people live more interesting lives with regard to their clothing, considering that the Korean society will become elderly-oriented in the near future. We took photographs of the elderly served as the models, displayed them on a computer screen, and produced 75 colors of the clothing in the elderly using computer graphics. The 75 colors were evaluated by 2 groups, one of elderly Korean woman group and a group of female students. We compared the ideal colors for and the colors actually worn by elderly people. The evaluation of the clothing colors for elderly women differed between the elderly woman group and the female student group. Analysis of images of the clothing colors selected by the elderly women showed that they attach importance to elegance when selecting clothing colors and have a strong desire to become active. The images held by female students concerning ideal clothing colors for elderly women closely pertained to commonness and inactivity.

노년여성의 화장행동, 심리적 특성과 영정사진 화장이미지 선호의 관계연구 (A Study on the Relationship between Makeup Behavior, Psychological Traits and Preference for the Makeup Images of Funeral portrait in Elderly Women)

  • The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of elderly women's makeup behavior, psychological traits and demographic variables on their preference for makeup images in daily life(hereinafter called general makeup image) and for the makeup images of their own future funeral portraits. As for the method of research, a research study was implemented by using the questionnaire method. Seven factors were selected for makeup behavior: fashionability, conformity, subjectivity, instrumentality, interpersonal orientation and conspicuousness. The selected psychological traits were personality, death attitude and depression. Preference for general makeup image and for the makeup image of funeral portrait were investigated in terms of four: agreeableness, refinement, individuality and dignity. The subjects in this study were 651 female elderly residents in and around Seoul who were in their 60s to 80s. Concerning data analysis, factor analysis, Cronbach alpha coefficient, Pearson productmoment correlation coefficient, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Duncan's multiple range test and multiple regression analysis were utilized. Concerning the influence of the elderly women's makeup behavior, personality, death attitude, depression and demographic variables on preference for the makeup image of funeral portrait, their preference for an agreeable makeup image was analyzed. Thus, makeup behavior, personality, death attitude and depression were identified as the variables to exert a significant influence on preference for the makeup images of funeral portrait. The findings of the study are expected to help make makeup for funeral portrait entrenched as a part of the beauty industry and to make a contribution to the development of the beauty industry.

온라인상에서 공유되는 노인에 대한 사회적 인식과 태도: 소셜 빅데이터 분석을 중심으로 (Social Perceptions and Attitudes toward the Elderly Shared Online: Focusing on Social Big Data Analysis)

  • 본 연구의 목적은 온라인상에서 '노인'이 어떠한 표현들로 지칭되고 있는지, 해당 단어의 쓰임새는 어떠한지 살펴보는 것이다. 구체적으로, 노인 낙인이라는 이론적 개념에 근거하여, 노인에 대한 이미지와 태도, 혐오표현의 특성 등을 분석하였다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 익명의 대화가 오가는 소셜 빅데이터를 기반으로 텍스트 마이닝을 실시하였다. 본 연구를 통해 확인한 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 온라인상에서 공유되는 노인 이미지는 대체로 부정적인 것으로 확인됐다. 둘째, 노인에 대한 부정적 이미지로 인해 이들을 대하는 태도 역시 부정적인 경향이 높았다. 셋째, 본 연구를 통해 확인된 노인 관련 지칭어를 살펴보면, '노인네', '틀딱', '할머니', '꼰대', '늙은이', '할배' 등이 상위 빈도를 차지했다. 이 중, '틀딱', '꼰대'는 주로 노인을 부정적으로 평가하거나 비난하는 댓글에서 확인됐으며, 이러한 표현에는 청년들에게 짐만 되는 노인들을 향한 혐오와 차별의 의미가 담겨 있었다. 넷째, 온라인상에서의 노인 혐오표현은 노인을 주제로 한 콘텐츠가 아닌 정치/경제 관련 이슈에서 더 많이 발견되었다. 이상의 결과를 토대로 본 연구는 세대 간 이해를 높이는 방안에 대해 논의하였다.

중.노년층 여성의 의복추구 이미지 연구 (A Study on Clothing Preference Images of the Middle-Aged and Elderly Women)

  • This study was intended to analyze clothing preference images according to the age groups (30's, 40's, 50's and 60's) and to clarify the differences between present clothing preference images and that of the future after 60. The data was collected through a questionnaire and a total of 482 questionnaires on the age groups ranging from 30s through 60s were used in the analysis. As for the present clothing preference images in accordance with age groups, the younger age groups in the range of 30's and 40's presented higher scores in most of these images. But the older age groups in the 50's and 60's had lower scores in most of these images. On the contrary, the older age groups had higher scores than the younger age groups with respect to similar, mature, magnificent, innocent, plump and virtuous images. As for the future clothing preference images after 60 in the elegant, luxurious, graceful, intellectual, chic, urbane, slimy and sociable images, the age groups in the 30's and 40's presented higher scores than the age groups in the 50's and 60's did. However, with respect to the youth-oriented images such as fashionable, innocent, remarkable, cute and vigorous images, the age group in the 60's had a higher score than the age group in the 30's, 40's and 50's did. There were differences between the present clothing preference images and future clothing preference images after 60. The 30's and 40's presented distinctively different clothing preference images in the present and future after 60. Thus, distinct images were pursued in the older age group. The 50s showed closest images to that of the older age group, presenting more conservative inclination in clothing preferences.
