여성 정치인 이미지 전략으로서의 패션 활용 (Utilization of fashion as the image strategy of female politicians)

  • As mass media has come to intervene with politics in a more proactive way during modern times, the image of a politician has evolved into a more relevant factor compared with political content. This phenomenon is known as "image politics", and such externalized images as non-verbal cues have grown in importance, along with the numbers of female politicians. Thus image strategy has been instituted as a major research theme in the field of political marketing, especially for female politicians. In accordance with this theme, this study aims to approach fashion as part of image strategy of female politicians, in order to reemphasize political fashion as a valuable resource. The methodologies employed in this study are based on both the literature and positive research. Female politicians have long utilized fashion styles that are, or are assumed to be, the most appealing to their target base of support in a predominantly male-centered sector. In this sense, appropriate choices in the usage of apparel items, colors, hair styles, accessories, and others according to each situation and respective hierarchies are of the utmost importance. When attending official ceremonies and other related meetings, the strategic superiority afforded to a scientific approach based on thorough fashion research, compared with personal taste is imperative. The significance of this study lies within the recognition of the importance of fashion image, and how to utilize fashion for image strategy in practice, through the investigative synthesis and review of major preceding research.

  • The purpose of this study was to evaluate the role of political image and the phenomenon of fashion politics on the style of women presidents, with focus on the President of Argentina, Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner. The results of the study were as follows. First, the political image of President Cristina Fernandez is identified with the second image of Eva Peron and Kirchnerismo, in terms of political issues. Second, fashion style includes the power and sexy images of glamour style that emphasizes the body line of suits and dress form. Vivid colors and black fashion reflects the Kirchner government's charisma and identity. Fernandez's iconic Rolex watches, expensive jewelry, and luxury accessories such as brooches that replicate Eva Peron's brooch were instrumental in forming a second image of Eva Peron. Third, the phenomenon of fashion politics appeared to equate the phenomenon of recreating the image of Eva Peron with displays of power and wealth for the successor to Kirchnerismo.

  • The purpose of this study is to examine the influence of popular culture in fashion politics phenomenon of leader. As study methods the literature study concerning fashion phenomenon and nature of popular culture were used for theoretical background and visual data from magazine, news paper, and internet were used for exploratory study. The results of this study are as follows. First, fashion politics phenomenon of leader in fashion merchandising through the marketing strategy is characterized as commercial profit. These characteristics enable the fashion industry and popular culture affect the formation to provide opportunity. Second, the fashion politics phenomenon of leader projected through mass media are the fashion icons and strong role models that are copied by consumers, conformity the popular, set a powerful fashion trend. The conformity by the mechanism of the interaction of the public will contribute to the formation of popular culture. Third, Semotics symbolism expressed in the fashion politics phenomenon of the leader, the intended message is communicated to the public by creating a positive image. Positive image of the leader of the public support and acceptance is the power to create.

탈경계와 이행의 문화정치학 - 미하일 바흐친의 민중-이미지 - (Cultural Politics of Transgredience and Transition : "people-image" in Bakhtinian Thought)

  • This article aims to explain the 'people-image' of Bakhtin's works in the light of "Transgredience" and "Transition." According to Bakhtin, the real core of every culture is the people. But he did try to answer the question "what is the people?" I think, the secret of Bakhtinian thought is located in the people-image, because it is the one of the territories that have not been explained. For this purpose, we have to examine four images represented by Bakhtin, - rogue, clown, fool, thief. These images are the concrete and individualized images of people, who can characterize the power of transgredience and transition. They commonly act for changing ordinary borders of identities formulated with nationality, property, status, classes, sex and so forth. In this sense, Bakhtin thinks that the masks are the real nature which can show the mutational power of Being. That is the kernel of Bakhtin's people-image that makes and changes every cultural world. When we accept and practise this perspective positively, we will realize that Bakhtin's position is close to the cultural politics, because a practical power of thought cannot help but being political. That's why we have to investigate Bakhtin's people-image from a vantage point of "Transgredience" and "Transition."

중국 여대생의 한국에 대한 국가이미지 인지가 한국 패션브랜드 인지도와 구매의도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Korean National Image on Chinese Female College Student's Attitude towards Korean Fashion)

  • This study used Chinese female college students as subjects to classify the components of the Korean national image as well as understand the recognition difference of country image factors and Korean fashion images; in addition, it examined the differences of the effect of Korean national image factors on the Korean fashion attitudes of Chinese female college students. A SPSS 18.0 statistic program with factor analysis, Cronbach's ${\alpha}$, paired t-test, multiple regression analysis, frequency analysis and ${\chi}^2$-test was used. The results are: First, it was shown that there are six factors: culture-society, economy, products, sports, politics, and technology. Second, the recognition difference on the six factors were significantly higher for products, politics, technology, economy, culture-society, and sports, respectively. Third, the difference of Korean fashion images showed that they recognize design uniqueness and diversity to choose styles preferentially. Fourth, the purchase intention was significant in the order of culture-society, products, politics, and sports, and recognition affects culture-society, sports, and products, respectively. Fifth, they prefer THE E-LAND GROUP, Beaucre Merchandising, and The Basic House the most and show a strong purchase intention. The analysis also showed that other various brands that are also recognized. These study results can provide Korean fashion companies with useful implications for marketing.

16세기 호남(湖南) 한시(漢詩)의 의상(意象) 연구(硏究) - 박상(朴祥), 임억령(林億齡), 고경명(高敬命)을 중심으로 - (A study of image on Honam Chinese poetry in 16th century)

  • 본고는 16세기 호남 한시의 의상을 연구하는 데 목적을 두었다. 이를 위해 박상 임억령 고경명을 연구의 대상으로 삼고 의상(意象)을 방법론으로 고찰하였다. 본고가 파악한 호남 한시의 특징은 다음 두 가지이다. 첫째, '문재불용(文才不用)'의식과 변새(邊塞) 의상(意象)이다. 박상 임억령 고경명은 16세기 호남의 인재들로 뛰어난 문재(文才)를 가지고 중앙정계에 진출하였다. 그러나 당대는 훈구파가 정국을 주도하는 시기로서 3인은 좌절을 겪게 된다. 그러한 과정에서 그들은 부정(不正)의 현실인식(現實認識), 현실비판(現實批判) 및 회재불우(懷才不遇) 의식(意識)을 드러낸다. 그런데 3인에게 주목되는 개성적 면모는 회재불우(懷才不遇) 의식(意識)이다. 그들의 회재불우(懷才不遇)는 그 기저에 '근본적으로 문재(文才)를 인정받지 못해서 불우하다는 문재불용(文才不用)' 의식이 자리잡고 있기 때문이다. 이들이 '문재불용(文才不用)'에 민감했던 것은 그들의 중앙진출수단이 뛰어난 문재(文才)였기 때문에 문재(文才)가 차단 당하자 좌절도 그만큼 켰기 때문이다. '문재불용(文才不用)' 의식은 특히, 외직을 맡거나 실질이 없고 명분만 있는 군직(軍職)을 맡았을 때 두드려지게 나타나는데, 검(劍), 극(戟), 장군(將軍) 등의 변새(邊塞) 의상(意象)을 통해서 시화(詩化)되고 있었다. 둘째, '화이불류(和而不流)' 의식과 절조(節操) 의상(意象)이다. 박상 임억령 고경명은 정치현실에서 '문재불용(文才不用)'을 토로하면서도 지속적으로 정치에 참여하였다. 이는 도(道)가 행해지면 나가서 벼슬하고 도(道)가 행해지지 않으면 은거하여 학문과 인격을 닦는 유자 일반의 수기치인(修己治人)의 자세와는 변별되는 것이다. 이는 3인이 유하혜(柳下惠)의 '화이불류(和而不流)'를 정치적 삶의 표본으로 삼았기 때문이다. 따라서 3인은 부정(不正)의 현실이라고 외면하거나 떠나가지 않고 자신의 도를 곧게 세워 지속적으로 현실에 참여하고자 했던 것이다. 이러한 정신지향은 접붙인 매화, 꾀꼬리, 지주석 등의 의상을 통해 시화(詩化)되고 있었다.

  • 본 연구는 정치인의 유튜브 정보서비스 질과 정치인 이미지 및 신뢰와 유권자의 사회·정치 참여의도의 구조적 관계를 실증 분석하는 것이 목적이다. 이를 살펴보기 위해 유권자 306명을 대상으로 온라인 설문조사로 표집했으며 분석한 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저, 정치인 유튜브 정보서비스의 질 요인들은 정치인의 이미지에 긍정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고. 그중 적시성, 신뢰성은 정치인의 신뢰에 긍정적 영향을 미쳤으나 유희성은 영향을 미치지 않았다. 유튜브를 통한 정치인 이미지와 신뢰 모두 유권자의 사회·정치 참여의도에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 간접효과를 살펴본 결과, 정치인 이미지는 정보서비스의 질과 사회·정치 참여의도에 간접효과를 나타냈으며, 정치인 신뢰는 적시성·신뢰성에서만 사회·정치 참여의도에 간접효과가 있는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구는 정치인의 이미지와 신뢰가 시민들의 사회 및 정치참여에 호소하는 주요 변인이라는 사실이 유튜브에서도 적용된다는 것을 밝혀낸 의의가 있다.

재현에서 이미지로: 현대 미술비평의 탈재현 전략 (Toward Image: The politics of 'Non-representation' in contemporary art criticism)

  • The politics penetrating through the contemporary art since modernism to postmodernism is to accomplish the 'Non-representation' in the artworks. This study argues that postmodernism did not put an end to the formalistic feature of modernism but intended to accomplish it. Modernist art aimed at purity, i.e. self-referential and self-definition art advocated by Clement Greenberg, and it carne to the end by accomplishing flatness and materiality. It was an 'evasion to the matter' which allocated the object from visuality of outer object to the psychic image of the subject. It failed being 'non-representational' as what it really achieved was transition of object. Jean Baudrillard's theory tried to overcome the representational quality by 'being simulacre'. In the representative artworks of the past, the meaning of artworks was reverted under the outer context or object. The meaning again failed being 'Non-representational' as it was restored to the psychic image of the subject in modernist artworks where the definite illusion was demolished Meanwhile, artwork advocating simulacre acquired Non-representational quality by liberating from both models. It did not deconstruct the self-referential tendency of modernism but maximized the Non-representational modernistic principle. After creating 'Non-representation' through simulacre, the existential status and function of an artwork is the inclination and moral of contemporary art as 'Non-representation'. The image theory of Henri Bergson sets the existential status of 'image' as it does not belong to either subject nor object. It provides significant foundation for arguing the existential status of simulacre. Moreover, though an artwork as a fragment forming a movement image in the world cannot represent the object, it can however sustain certain kind of fractal resemblance with the world by letting the two parties communicate. The theory of sense by Gilles Deleuze is of profound significance as it specifically indicated way how the stage of absorption through the unity of subject and object is realized in forms of artworks, and configured the latent and invisible energy.

한국 사회의 근대화 기획자 가족정치 : 가족계획사업을 중심으로 (Modernization Project of Korean Society and Family Politics: on the Basis of Family Planning Programs)

  • 본 논문은 60년대 이후 한국 가족의 구조적 변동을 가져온 핵심 요인으로 가족계획사업을 통한 국가의 가족정치(family politics) 과정을 주목하였다. 국가의 용의주도한 기획 아래 가족의 '계획'이 이루어졌으며, '계획합리성(plan rationality)'에 의해 인위적이고 강압적으로 새로운 가족이 만들어진 것이다 가족계획사업의 진행과정에서 국가의 가족정치는 매우 다양하게 나타났다. 사업의 정당성 확보를 위해 근대 가족의 이미지를 동원하는가 하면, 사업의 효율적인 추진을 위해 미시적 감시망 속에 가족을 묶어두기도 했다. 소자녀가족에 대한 경제적 사회적 지원을 통해 근대 핵가족을 유도하기도 했으며, 의료적 기술을 통해 강압적인 구조변동을 이끌기도 했다. 이에 따라 사업 이후 40년 동안 우리 가족은 규모의 축소와 구성의 단순화, 전반적인 근대적 가족행동 및 가치의 증가를 경험하게 되었다. 사업을 통해 국가는 가족을 공적 영역으로 끌어내고. 근대화 기획에 걸맞는 가족 유형과 규범을 만들어 갔다. 그러나 그 과정에서 나타난 가족 문제는 아주 심각하다. 그럼에도 국가는 다시 신자유추의 정치담론을 통해 가족을 국가복지의 대리인이 될 것을 강요하고 있다. '가족을 통한 복지'로 국가복지의 취약성을 대신하려 한다. 가족은 복지의 대상이지 복지의 주체가 아니다. 국가의 가족정치는 바로 이러한 복지 대상으로서 가족을 만들어 가는 노력으로 바뀌어져야 한다.

Framing city image: A content analysis of Chinese city image construction on Korean press

  • With Wenhai big data SaaS cloud platform.2.0, this study analyzed data of 135 news reports relating to Chinese city Chongqing from Yonhap News Agency and ten South Korean mainstream newspapers from May 1st, 2018 to September 30th, 2022. Under the framework of Frame Theory, this research conducted data mining and analysis on how Korean mainstream media shaped city image of Chongqing, what kind of city images were shaped from dimensions of politics, economy, society, culture & sports as well as tourism and whether they are consistent with those in Chinese media. At the last part, discussions and suggestions was made.
