  • In this paper, we proposed a method extracting an object from background of the satellite image. The image segmentation techniques have been widely studied for the technology to segment image and to synthesis segment object with other images. Proposed algorithm is to perform the edge detection of a selected object using genetic algorithm. We segment region of object based on detection edge using watershed algorithm. We separated background and object in indefinite region using gradual region merge from segment object. And, we make GUI for the application of the proposed algorithm to various tests. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method, several analysis on the satellite images are performed.

  • Previous studies have shown that country image affects consumers' valuation of products. Based on a literature review this paper identifies five dimensions (economic, political, relational, people and cultural image) and purifies them with Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) and Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA). The data was gathered by using a structured questionnaire from 252 Korean consumers. Among the five dimensions of country image, this paper derives the three factors of country image for four countries (The United States, Japan, Australia, and China) - economic, relational, and cultural image. Then it examines the impacts of the three dimensions of country image on consumers' purchase intention of two industry types : industrial products vs. agricultural products. The result shows there is no difference between both of the two types in the impacts of country image on purchase intention. This implies that for managing the country image it not necessary to develop a communication strategy which is differentiated by industry types.

  • The purpose of this study was to explore the moderating effect of food safety scandals on the relationship between food company's Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) engagement at different levels and brand image in the Chinese dairy company context. In addition, this study also examined the mediating effect of brand image on CSR engagement and consumer loyalty. The study adopted a $2{\times}2$ between-subjects experimental design using scenarios. Four scenarios provided a mixed combination of yes or no cases for food safety scandal, and high or low cases for a dairy company's CSR engagement. In this study, survey was used to collect data from Chinese consumers. Of these, 377 valid data were collected from a sample of average Chinese consumers over the age of 20, collected through the internet. The results show that CSR engagement at different levels has a significant effect on brand image and food safety scandal has a significant moderating effect on the relationship between the two. This study expanded the previous study on the sensitivity of consumers to CSR activities in eastern China. At the same time, according to the results of the study, different CSR engagement of food enterprises does have a significant impact on brand image and consumer loyalty.
