  • RAIM techniques based on TLS have rarely born addressed because TLS requires a great number of computations. In this paper, the special form of the observation matrix H, that is, one column is exactly known, is exploited so as to develop a new TLS-based sequential algorithm to identify an errant satellite. The algorithm makes us enjoy the advantages of TLS with less computational burden. The proposed algorithm is verified through a numerical simulation.

  • In the study, the open area keeping a few visible satellites and the urban area covered with the high building, an electric pole were chosen far evaluation of accuracy of satellite positioning. First, suggest the validity of GPS/GLONASS, TS/RTK-GPS, and compared the accuracy with that of the classical surveying method. As a result, In static relative surveying, the difference of between the known cadastral supplementary control station and that of the acquired is 0.000∼.0006m in GPS alone, GPS/GLONASS, and In the RTK-GPS/TS, 0.010∼0.077m on the non-ambiguity fixed solutions in the urban area 0.008∼0.078m in the open area. it proved to be valid because it is within the allowed connecting errors, i.e 12cm on the baseline of loom in l/l,200 cadastral map.

  • In this paper, we propose a mobile navigation application that allows a user to send location data to another user using the iPhone's GPS function and Mapkit framework. The GPS function of the iPhone detects the location of the first user and the Mapkit framework shows the first user location on Google Maps. If the second user requires guidance to a destination, the first user touches the record button on the proposed application to record his or her position. The first user can check his or her recorded location from the pin position on Google Maps, and he or she can then send the relevant information to the second user who wants to visit that location. The second user receives the location data and is guided to the destination easily by following the next position icon on the iPhone camera overlay or by following the pin position on Google Maps. Therefore, even if a user is traveling somewhere for the first time, the proposed application guides that user to his or her destination by receiving recorded location data from another user.

  • This paper describes performance improvement of GPS/DR Integration system using area decision algorithm and vehicle movement information. In GPS signal blockage area, i.e., tunnel and underground parking area, DR sensor errors are accumulated and navigation solution is gradually diverged. We use the car movement information according to moving area to correct the DR sensor error. Also, vehicle movement is decided as stop, straight line, turn and movement changing region through DR sensor data analysis. The car experiment is performed to verify the supposed method. The results show that supposed method provides small position and heading error than previous method.

The Improved Success Rate of Integer Ambiguity Resolution by Using Many Visible GPS/GNSS Satellites

  • This study investigates the improvement in the theoretical success rate of the integer ambiguity resolution in GPS/GNSS carrier-phase positioning by using many visible satellites. It estimates the dependence of the rate on the baseline length in relative positioning under the condition of the use of double/triple-frequency navigation signals. The calculation results show that the use of 14 navigation satellites (i.e., seven GPS and seven Galileo ones) remarkably improves the success rate under the condition of very short baseline length, compared with the use of seven GPS ones. The numerical reliability of the calculated success rates is strictly tested by examining the tightness of the union and minimum-distance bounds to the rate. These bounds are also shown to be effective to investigate the realization of the high success rates.

Monitoring a steel building using GPS sensors

  • To assess the performance of a structure requires the measurement of global and relative displacements at critical points across the structure. They should be obtained in real time and in all weather condition. A Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) could satisfy the last two requirements. The American Global Position System (GPS) provides long term acquisitions with sampling rates sufficient to track the displacement of long period structures. The accuracy is of the order of sub-centimetres. The steel building which hosts the authors' laboratory is the reference case-study within this paper. First a comparison of data collected by GPS sensor units with data recorded by tri-axial accelerometers is carried out when dynamic vibrations are induced in the structure by movements of the internal bridge-crane. The elaborations from the GPS position readings are then compared with the results obtained by a Finite Element (FE) numerical simulation. The purposes are: i) to realize a refinement of the structural parameters which characterize the building and ii) to outline a suitable way for processing GPS data toward structural monitoring.

  • GPS의 민간수요에 따른 응용분야가 날로 증가함에 따라 중저가 GPS 수신기를 이용한 실시간 정밀측위 기술의 필요성이 점차 부각되고 있다. 이에 한국천문연구원은 iRTK 기법을 이용한 준 실시간 정밀측위 시스템을 개발한 바 있다. 반송파 위상데이터를 이용한 정밀측위는 모호수를 결정해야하는 어려움이 있고 특히 짧은 시간 내에 정확한 모호수를 찾는 것은 쉽지 않다. 본 연구는 한국천문연구원이 개발한 iRTK시스템의 자료처리능력을 향상시키기 위한 것으로 실시간 모호수 결정 알고리즘 개발에 중점을 두었다. 이를 위해 2003년 7월부터 9월 사이에 실험이 이루어졌고 중저가 GPS 수신기를 이용해 측정한 데이터를 모호수 결정 알고리즘으로 구한 값과 이미 알고 있는 정밀좌표 값을 비교 분석하였다. 새로운 모호수 결정 알고리즘을 이용해 구한 결과 값이 기존의 iRTK시스템 결과보다 정밀하고 안정적으로 산출됨을 알 수 있었다. 개선된 모호수 결정 알고리즘은 iRTK시스템의 준 실시간 자료처리부분에 적용할 수 있도록 보완할 것이다.

  • We propose the monitoring system scheme for the CPS/INS integrated navigation system. The design requirements of the monitoring system are suggested and the software scheme based on GUI is proposed. The proposed monitoring system consists of an I/O interface part, a navigation data display part, and a post-processing part. The I/O interface part is responsible for data communication between the monitoring system and a navigation computer unit. The navigation data display part provides various display methods to show the navigation data to user in real-time. The post-processing part collects the navigation data to analyze the performance of navigation system. The proposed monitoring system software was developed using the Visual C++ programming language and a van test was carried out to demonstrate the real-time operation of the monitoring system. The test result shows that the proposed monitoring system can be effectively applied to the CPS/INS integrated navigation system.

  • Before GPS is practically used in Kores, we must fix a problem on the coordinate transfomation between WGS 84 and Korean geodetic system based on Bessel ellipsoid. On this article, I investigate various coordinate trans formation methods and review the researched results about the coordinate transformation which have been performed in Korea. With the inspection of which method is more applicable to Korea, I discuss about the future prospect and the fixing way for the problem of domestic coordinate transfomation.
