Presently, Online / Offline Users are facing cyber attacks every day. These cyber attacks affect user's performance, resources and various daily activities. Due to this critical situation, attention must be given to prevent such users through cyber attacks. The objective of this research paper is to improve the IDS systems by using machine learning approach to develop a hybrid model which controls the cyber attacks. This Hybrid model uses the available KDD 1999 intrusion detection dataset. In first step, Hybrid Model performs feature optimization by reducing the unimportant features of the dataset through decision tree, support vector machine, genetic algorithm, particle swarm optimization and principal component analysis techniques. In second step, Hybrid Model will find out the minimum number of features to point out accurate detection of cyber attacks. This hybrid model was developed by using machine learning algorithms like PSO, GA and ELM, which trained the system with available data to perform the predictions. The Hybrid Model had an accuracy of 99.94%, which states that it may be highly useful to prevent the users from cyber attacks.
Decision tree induction algorithm is one of the most widely used methods in classification problems. However, they could be trapped into a local minimum and have no reasonable means to escape from it if tree algorithm uses top-down search algorithm. Further, if irrelevant or redundant features are included in the data set, tree algorithms produces trees that are less accurate than those from the data set with only relevant features. We propose a hybrid algorithm to generate decision tree that uses genetic programming with sequentially selected features. Correlation-based Feature Selection (CFS) method is adopted to find relevant features which are fed to genetic programming sequentially to find optimal trees at each iteration. The new proposed algorithm produce simpler and more understandable decision trees as compared with other decision trees and it is also effective in producing similar or better trees with relatively smaller set of features in the view of cross-validation accuracy.
Since most real-world application data involve continuous-valued attributes, properly addressing the discretization process for constructing a decision tree is an important problem. A continuous-valued attribute is typically discretized during decision tree generation by partitioning its range into two intervals recursively. In this paper, by removing the restriction to the binary discretization, we present a hybrid multi-interval discretization algorithm for discretizing the range of continuous-valued attribute into multiple intervals. On the basis of experiment using semiconductor etching machine, it has been verified that our discretization algorithm constructs a more efficient incremental decision tree compared to previously proposed discretization algorithms.
The rectilinear Steiner tree problem is to find a minimum-length rectilinear interconnection of a set of terminals in the plane. It is well known that the solution to this problem will be the minimal spanning tree (MST) on some set Steiner points. A hybrid evolutionary algorithm is introduced based upon the Prim algorithm. The Prim algorithm for the fitness evaluation requires heavy calculation time. The fitness value of parents is inherited to their child and the fitness value of child is estimated by the inherited structure of tree. We introduce four alternative evolutionary algorithms, Experiment result shows that the calculation time is reduced to 25% without loosing the solution quality by using the fitness estimation.
Network optimization is being increasingly important and fundamental issue in the fields such as engineering, computer science, operations research, transportation, telecommunication, decision support systems, manufacturing, and airline scheduling. Networks provide a useful way to modeling real world problems and are extensively used in practice. Many real world applications impose on more complex issues, such as, complex structure, complex constraints, and multiple objects to be handled simultaneously and make the problem intractable to the traditional approaches. Recent advances in evolutionary computation have made it possible to solve such practical network optimization problems. The invited talk introduces a thorough treatment of evolutionary approaches, i.e., hybrid genetic algorithms approach to network optimization problems, such as, fixed charge transportation problem, minimum cost and maximum flow problem, minimum spanning tree problem, multiple project scheduling problems, scheduling problem in FMS.
Multicasting is an efficient means of one to many (or many to many) communications. Due to the frequent and unpredictable topology changes, multicast still remains as challenge and no one-size-fits-all protocol could serve all kinds of needs in ad hoc network. Protocols and approaches currently proposed on this issue could be classified mainly into four categories, tree-based, meshed-based, statelessness and hybrid. In this article, we borrow the concept of Eulerian ring in graph theory and propose a novel ring-based multicast framework--Hierarchical Eulerian Ring-Oriented Multicast Architecture (HEROMA) over wireless mobile Ad hoc network. It is familiar with hybrid protocol based on mesh and tree who concentrates on efficiency and robustness simultaneously. Architecture and recovery algorithm of HEROMA are investigated in details. Simulation result is also presented, which show different level of improvements on end-to-end delay in scenario of small scale.
Harris corner detector is commonly used to detect feature points for recognizing 2-D or 3-D objects. However, the feature points calculated from both of query and target objects need to be same positions to guarantee accurate recognitions. In order to check the positions of calculated feature points, we generate a Huffman tree which is based on adjacent feature values as inputs. However, the structures of two Huffman trees will be same as long as both of a query and targets have same feature values no matter how different their positions are. In this paper, we sort feature values and calculate the Euclidean distances of coordinates between two adjacent feature values. The Huffman Tree is generated with these Euclidean distances. As a result, the information of point locations can be included in the generated Huffman tree. This is the main strategy for accurate recognitions. We call this system as the HRM(Hybrid Retrieval Machine). This system works very well even when artificial random noises are added to original data. HRM can be used to recognize biological data such as proteins, and it will curtail the costs which are required to biological experiments.

In this paper, we discuss the issues of providing protection for point-to-multipoint connections in both Ethernet and MPLS-TP-based packet transport networks. We introduce two types of per-leaf protection-linear and ring. Neither of the two types requires that modifications to existing standards be made. Their performances can be improved by a collective signal fail mechanism proposed in this paper. In addition, two schemes - tree protection and hybrid protection - are newly proposed to reduce the service recovery time when a single failure leads to multiple signal fail events, which in turn places a significant amount of processing burden upon a root node. The behavior of the tree protection protocol is designed with minimal modifications to existing standards. The hybrid protection scheme is devised to maximize the benefits of per-leaf protection and tree protection. To observe how well each scheme achieves an efficient traffic recovery, we evaluate their performances using a test bed as well as computer simulation based on the formulae found in this paper.

The tree topology in multicast systems has high transmission efficiency, low latency, but poor resilience to node failures. In our work, some nodes are selected as backbone nodes to construct a tree-like core overlay. Backbone nodes are reliable enough and have strong upload capacity as well, which is helpful to overcome the shortcomings of tree topology. The core overlay is organized into a spanning tree while the whole overlay is of mesh-like topology. This paper focuses on improving the performance of the application-layer multicast overlay by optimizing the core overlay which is periodically adjusted with the proposed optimization algorithm. Our approach is to construct the overlay tree based on the out-degree weighted reliability where the reliability of a node is weighted by its upload bandwidth (out-degree). There is no illegal solution during the evolution which ensures the evolution efficiency. Simulation results show that the proposed approach greatly enhances the reliability of the tree-like core overlay systems and achieves shorter delay simultaneously. Its reliability performance is better than the reliability-first algorithm and its delay is very close to that of the degree-first algorithm. The complexity of the proposed algorithm is acceptable for application. Therefore the proposed approach is efficient for the topology optimization of a real multicast overlay.
