  • To achieve high performance by exploiting instruction level parallelism(ILP) aggressively in superscalar processors, value prediction is used. Value prediction is a technique that breaks data dependences by predicting the outcome of an instruction and executes speculatively it's data dependent instruction based on the predicted outcome. In this paper, the performance of a hybrid value prediction scheme with dynamic classification mechanism is measured and analyzed by using execution-driven simulator for SPECint95 benchmark set.

  • Our unicycle robot has simple mechanical structure. But unicycle's dynamical system is a very sensitive unstable system. Equation of motion of this simple unicycle robot was derived using Lagrange's method. In this paper a human inference control mechanism was established throughout an inquiry into hyman riding a unicycle, and we developed a hybrid controller to control our unicycle robot. Our controller is consisted with the PD and fuzzy controller containing fuzzy gain scheduling technique. Computer simulation shows good results.

  • The three-dimensional nonlinear analysis on the partial tension experiment of Beam-Column connections in hybrid connections with RC columns and S beams is simulated. In this paper, mechanical characteristics between steel plates and concrete is investigated.   • Polyketides are a class of structurally diverse natural products which possess a wide range of biological activities. These compounds are used throughout medicine and agriculture as antimicrobials, immunosuppressants, antiparasitics, and anticancer agents. While structurally diverse, polyketides are assembled by a common mechanism of decarboxylative condensations of simple malonate derivatives by polyketide synthases (PKSs) in a manner very similar to fatty acid biosynthesis (Fig 1).   • The method of speaker normalization has been known as the successful method for improving the accuracy of speech recognition at speaker independent speech recognition system. A frequency warping approach is widely used method based on maximum likelihood for speaker normalization. This paper propose a new power spectrum warping approach to making improvement of speaker normalization better than a frequency warping. Th power spectrum warping uses Mel-frequency cepstrum analysis(MFCC) and is a simple mechanism to performing speaker normalization by modifying the power spectrum of Mel filter bank in MFCC. Also, this paper propose the hybrid VTN combined the Power spectrum warping and a frequency warping. Experiment of this paper did a comparative analysis about the recognition performance of the SKKU PBW DB applied each speaker normalization approach on baseline system. The experiment results have shown that a frequency warping is 2.06%, the power spectrum is 3.06%, and hybrid VTN is 4.07% word error rate reduction as of word recognition performance of baseline system.

Direct Interaction of KIF5s and Actin-Based Transport Motor, Myo9s (KIF5s와 직접 결합하는 액틴 결합 운동단백질 Myo9s의 규명)

  • Microtubule-based kinesin motor proteins are used for long-range vesicular transport. KIF5s (KIF5A, KIF5B and KIF5C) mediate the transport of various membranous vesicles along microtubules, but the mechanism behind how they recognize and bind to a specific cargo has not yet been completely elucidated. To identify the interaction protein for KIF5B, yeast two-hybrid screening was performed and a specific interaction with the unconventional myosin Myo9b, an actin-based vesicle transport motor, was found. The GTPase-activating protein (GAP) domain of Myo9s was essential for interaction with KIF5B in the yeast two-hybrid assay. Myo9b bound to the carboxyl-terminal region of KIF5B and to other KIF5 members. In addition, glutathione S-transferase (GST) pull-downs showed that Myo9s specifically interact to the complete Kinesin-I complex. An antibody to KIF5B specifically co-immunoprecipitated KIF5B associated with Myo9s from mouse brain extracts. These results suggest that kinesin-I motor protein interacts directly with actin-based motor proteins in the cell.

Silsesquioxane/Polystyrene Hybrid Materials via Charge Transfer Interactions (전하 이동을 이용한 실세스퀴옥산/폴리스티렌 하이브리드)

  • Charge transfer interaction as a hybridization mechanism of silsesquioxane/polymer was tested using carbazole (electron donor) group and dinitrobenzene (electron acceptor) group. Hybridization test was conducted using films made from mixing/casting of poly (carbazole-styrene) (PS/D) and dimtrobenzyl silsesquioxane (Cube/A), and transparent hybrid films were successfully obtained under some conditions. $^1H-NMR$ of PS/D and Cube/A, and W absorption test of hybrid films showed that one acceptor and one donor can form one charge transfer complex when no silsesquioxane molecule was included in films, but transparent hybrids with no phase separation were obtained only at acceptor/donor ratios less than 0.7 : 1. These results also suggested that on average 4 charge transfer complexes form per one silsesquioxane.

An Efficient Hybrid Lookup Service Exploiting Localized Query Traffic (질의의 지역성을 이용한 효율적인 하이브리드 검색 서비스)

  • Since the development of the Distributed Hash Tables (DHTs), the distributed lookup services are one of the hot topics in the networking area. The main reason of this popularity is the simplicity of the lookup structure. However, the simple key based search mechanism makes the so called "keyword" based search difficult if not impossible. Thus, the applicability of the DHTs is limited to certain areas. In this paper. we find that DHTs can be used as the ubiquitous sensor network (USN) metadata lookup service across a large number of sensor networks. The popularity of the Ubiquitous Sensor Network has motivated the development of the USN middleware services for the sensor networks. One of the key functionalities of the USN middleware service is the lookup of the USN metadata, by which users get various information about the sensor network such as the type of the sensor networks and/or nodes, the residual of the batteries, the type of the sensor nodes. Traditional distributed hash table based lookup systems are good for one sensor network. However, as the number of sensor network increases, the need to integrate the lookup services of many autonomous sensor networks so that they can provide the users an integrated view of the entire sensor network. In this paper, we provide a hybrid lookup model, in which the autonomous lookup services are combined together and provide seamless services across the boundary of a single lookup services. We show that the hybrid model can provide far better lookup performance than a single lookup system.
