Fiber optic sensors (FOS) have advantages such as electromagnetic interference (EMI) immunity, corrosion resistance and multiplexing capability. For these reasons, they are widely used in various condition monitoring systems (CMS). This study investigated a muscular condition monitoring system using fiber optic sensors (FOS). Generally, sensors for monitoring the condition of the human body are based on electro-magnetic devices. However, such an electrical system has several weaknesses, including the potential for electro-magnetic interference and distortion. Fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensors overcome these weaknesses, along with simplifying the devices and increasing user convenience. To measure the level of muscle contraction and relaxation, which indicates the musle condition, a belt-shaped FBG sensor module that makes it possible to monitor the movement of muscles in the radial and circumferential directions was fabricated in this study. In addition, a uniaxial tensile test was carried out in order to evaluate the applicability of this FBG sensor module. Based on the experimental results, a relationship was observed between the tensile stress and Bragg wavelength of the FBG sensors, which revealed the possibility of fabricating a muscular condition monitoring system based on FBG sensors.
Until now for the safety of structures and equipment monitoring technology to measure the amount of the physical, if that is the one, one-point or single-source target is one the most. Therefore, becoming more numerous and complex to measure the amount of physical measurement technology that is comprehensive and complex, multi-source concepts to the monitoring of a multi-sensing technology is required. Have the same characteristics of multi-source multi-use space such as a multi-structure of facilities/equipment is. The people's safety in a multi-use facility will be directly related to life and even a little carelessness can lead to large-scale disaster occurs because of several factors, risks and to manage detect in advance the development of an intelligent monitoring technology is essential. Therefore, this study shows that multiple structures/facilities to improve the quality of human life in research to maintain a safe and comfortable living space for multi-source intelligence to the development of monitoring technology to achieve that goal, and the ubiquitous sensor network system on the basis of the wireless transmission module, and multiple research facilities/equipment for the ultra-small sensors for health monitoring study was performed.

Recently, according to the severity of air pollution, interest in air pollution is increasing. The IoT based fine dust monitoring system proposed in this paper allows the measurement and monitoring of fine dust, volatile organic compounds, carbon dioxide, etc., which are the biggest causes affecting the human body among air environmental pollution. The proposed system consisted of a device that measures atmospheric environment information, a server system for storing and analyzing measured information, an integrated monitoring management system for administrators and smart phone applications for users to enable visualization analysis of atmospheric environment information in real time. In addition, the effectiveness of the proposed fine dust monitoring system based on the Internet of Things was verified by using the response speed of the system, the transmission speed of the sensor data, and the measurement error of the sensor. The fine dust monitoring system based on the Internet of Things proposed in this paper is expected to increase user convenience and efficiency of the system by visualizing the air pollution condition after measuring the air environment information with portable fine dust measuring device.

The control module controlling points has become high-tech. but the introduction of relevant company's inspection intervals and methods, and the adoption of the way which is used in relay interlock system became the cause of a failure by excessive and incorrect maintenance. The Human error in failure recovery process can cause vital accidents including train derailment, the points monitoring system could prevent this problem by monitoring points' operation condition in real time. After conducting the changed inspection intervals that applied the results of the criticality of each failure type, MTBF, MTTR, availability, maintainer's opinion, the work became simplified, and, the failure did not occur for 4 consecutive years in contrast to the previous annual average of 11 failures.
In the coming age of information warfare, information security patterns take on a more offensive than defensive stance. It is necessary to develop an active form of offensive approach to security protection in order to guard vital information infrastructures and thwart hackers. Information security products need to support an automatic response facility without human intervention in order to minimize damage to the attacked system and cope with the intrusion immediately. This paper presents an automatic intrusion response model which is developed on a Self-Extension Monitoring. It also proposes an ARTEMIS(Advanced Realtime Emergency Management and Intruder Identification System), which is designed and implemented based on the suggested model. The Self-Extension Monitoring using self-protection and replication minimizes spatial limitations on collection of monitoring information and intruder tracing. It enhances the accuracy of intrusion detection and tracing.
In this paper, we propose a framework for the real-time monitoring of wireless biosensors. This is a scalable platform that requires minimum human interaction during set-up and monitoring. Its main components include a biosensor, a smart gateway to automatically set up the body area network, a mechanism for delivering data to an Internet monitoring server, and automatic data collection, profiling and feature extraction from bio-potentials. Such a system could increase the quality of life and significantly lower healthcare costs for everyone in general, and for the elderly and those with disabilities in particular.

Visibility impairment in an urban area is mainly caused by airborne fine particulate matters. Visibility in a clean air environment is more sensitive to the change of PM$_{2.5}$ particle concentrations. However, a proportionally larger reduction in fine particle concentration is needed to achieve a small increment of visibility improvement in polluted areas. Continuous optical monitoring of atmospheric visibility and extensive aerosol measurements have been made in the urban atmosphere of Kwangju, Korea. The mean for fine particulate mass from 1999 to 2002 at Kwangju was measured to be 23.6$\pm$20.3 $\mu\textrm{g}$/㎥. The daily average seasonal visual range was measured to be 13.1, 9.2, 11.0, and 13.9 km in spring, summer, fall, and winter, respectively. The mean light extinction budgets by sulfate, nitrate, organic carbon, and elemental carbon aerosol were observed to be 27, 14, 22, and 12%, respectively. It is highly recommended that a new visibility standard and/or a fine particle standard be established in order to protect the health and welfare of general public. Much more work needs to be done in visibility studies, including long-term monitoring of visibility, improvement of visibility models, and formulating integrated strategies for managing fine particles to mitigate the visibility impairment and climate change.e.

This paper proposes a monitoring and remote control system, an essential part of In Vehicle Infotainment (IVI) and Human Vehicle Interface (HVI) to provide safety and convenience to a driver. The system utilizes Bluetooth for a short range communication and utilizes WCDMA for a long range communication to enhance efficiency. In this paper, an integrated controller, which integrates a CAN communication module, a Bluetooth communication module, a WCDMA communication module, is designed to control a car. Also, a remote server for managing data is designed to provide real-time monitoring and remote control for a user via smart devices. Experiment results show that all the proposed remote control, driving log, real-time monitoring, and diagnostics functions are working properly. With the proposed system, a driver can drive safely by monitoring and inspecting a car before driving via smart devices, and control conveniently by controlling a car remotely.
This paper presents a low-cost prototype for monitoring online the maximum power produced by a domestic photovoltaic (PV) system using Internet of Things (IoT) technology. The most common tracking algorithms (P&O, InCond, HC, VSS InCond, and FL) were first simulated using MATLAB/Simulink and then implemented in a low-cost microcontroller (Arduino). The current, voltage, load current, load voltage, power at the maximum power point, duty cycle, module temperature, and in-plane solar irradiance are monitored. Using IoT technology, users can check in real time the change in power produced by their installation anywhere and anytime without additional effort or cost. The designed prototype is suitable for domestic PV applications, particularly at remote sites. It can also help users check online whether any abnormality has happened in their system based simply on the variation in the produced maximum power. Experimental results show that the system performs well. Moreover, the prototype is easy to implement, low in cost, saves time, and minimizes human effort. The developed monitoring system could be extended by integrating fault detection and diagnosis algorithms.
