Self-consistent electronic structure of impurities using the recursion method

  • We have calculated the electronic structure of impurity atoms in metal host by using the tight binding model in the recursion method. For a self-consistent calculation, we assumed that the effect of impurity introduction was localized only at the impurity site and its neighbours. We calculated the Madelung term by limiting the contribution to Vm of the charge perturbations to the first shell around the impurity with Evjen technique. The calculated local density of states and charge transfer values have been compared with the experimental values for a single impurity in metal host. We fund that d-reso-nance state came from the repulsive interaction between impurity d-state and host band, and the position of d-resonance state depended on the difference of valence electrons between the host and the impurity. the results also showed that the charge transfer value between an impurity and host metal was comparable to the ionicity difference between them.

  • In this research, a mesh connected VLSI structure is proposed for the real time computation of the generalized Hough transform(GHT). The purpose of the research is to design a generalized Hough transformer that can be realized as a single chip processor. The GHT has been modified to yield a highly parallel structure consisting of simple processing elements(PEs) and communication networks. In the proposed structure, the GHT can be computed by first assigning an image pixel to a PE and performing shift and add operations. The result of the CAD circuit simulation shows that it can be computed in the time proportional to the number of pixels in the pattern. In addition to the Hough transformer, the peak detector has been designed to reduce 1)the number of the I/O operations between the transformer and the host computer and 2) the host computer's burden for peak detection by transmitting only the local peaks detected from the transformed accumulator. It is expected that the proposed single chip Hough transformer with peak detector makes a fast and inexpensive edge based object recognition systems possible for many industrial and military applications.

저가의 소형 PCR 장치를 위한 펌웨어 설계 및 구현 (Design and Implementation of Firmware for Low-cost Small PCR Devices)

  • 본 논문에서는 저가의 소형 PCR 장치에 적합한 펌웨어를 설계하고 구현하였다. 제안된 펌웨어는 실행코드 크기를 최소화하기 위해서 운영체제의 도움을 받지 않고 하드웨어 인터럽트만을 이용하여 실시간 작업들을 동시에 제어한다. 또한 제안된 펌웨어는 usb 통신을 이용하여 PC로부터 동작 과정을 입력받아 마이크로콘트롤러에 연결된 부속장비들을 구동하고, 구동결과를PC로 전달하여 사용자에게 출력하는 주컴퓨터-국소장치 구조에 적합하도록 설계되었다. 제안된 펌웨어를 microchip사의 PIC18F4550 칩에 실제로 탑재하여 저가의 소형 PCR 장치를 제작하였고, 제작한 PCR 장치가 기존 상용 PCR 장치는 제작 비용과 부피를 대폭 줄이면서도 유사한 DNA 증폭 결과를 보임을 확인하였다.

FORMALISM FOR THE SUBHALO MASS FUNCTION IN THE TIDAL-LIMIT APPROXIMATION

  • We present a theoretical formalism by which the global and the local mass functions of dark matter substructures (dark subhalos) can be analytically estimated. The global subhalo mass function is defined to give the total number density of dark subhalos in the universe as a function of mass, while the local subhalo mass function counts only those sub halos included in one individual host halo. We develop our formalism by modifying the Press-Schechter theory to incorporate the followings: (i) the internal structure of dark halos; (ii) the correlations between the halos and the subhalos; (iii) the subhalo mass-loss effect driven by the tidal forces. We find that the resulting (cumulative) subhalo mass function is close to a power law with the slope of ${\~}$ -1, that the subhalos contribute approximately $10\%$ of the total mass, and that the tidal stripping effect changes the subhalo mass function self-similarly, all consistent with recent numerical detections.

5G 스몰셀 기술 및 활용 기술 동향 (Trends in 5G Small Cell and Application Technology)

  • 5G goes beyond people to serve indoor and outdoor companies and industries, as well as campuses such as halls, industrial complexes, educational institutions, stadiums, dense urban areas, rural areas, and government institutions. Therefore, a new approach to small cells is needed. Accordingly, 3GPP and Small Cell Forum are researching 5G small cell architecture; 3GPP, Small Cell Forum, and 5G Alliance for Connected Industries and Automation are also researching private networks tailored to meet the specific requirements of various companies and local governments. In particular, in the UK, a small cell-based technology is required for realizing the Joint Operator Technical Specifications-Neutral Host In-Building specification to cost-effectively secure indoor coverage. Further, the research on the SON(Self-Organizing Network) technology for small cells in 5G, where commercialization has begun, is required. The 5G-based small cell structure, private network, and Neutral Host In-Building and SON reviewed in this study are at the initial research stages; therefore, additional research is needed to secure the competitiveness of the small cell technology in 5G and Beyond 5G.

필드버스 공압 솔레노이드 밸브/센서시스템 설계 및 성능평가 특성해석 (A Study on the Design and Performance Evaluation Technology of Fieldbus Pneumatic Solenoid Valve/Sensor System)

  • For pneumatic system control, we need a data transmission system with high speed and high reliability or information interchange between main computer and solenoid valves and I/O devices. This paper presents a set of design techniques for a data communication system that is mainly used for pneumatic system control. For this purpose, we first designed hardware modules for an interface between central control module and local node that handles the operation of solenoid valves. In addition we developed a communication protocol for construction of RS-485 based multidrop network, and this protocol is basically designed with a kind of polling technique. Finally we evaluated performance of the developed system. The field test results show that, even under high noise environment, the data transmission of 375Kbps rate is possible up to 1,000m without using repeater. In addition, the system developed in this research is proved to be used easily for extension of a communication network because of its module structure.

  • This paper presents a hierarchical real-time operation control and monitoring scheme of the FMS/CIM center which has been implemented at the Automation and Systems Research Institute of Seoul National University. The hierarchical structure of the whole scheme consists of three lavers. The upper layer is in charge of on-line scheduling, computer network control, shop-floor monitoring and command generation for AGV dispatching, machining, assembly, inspection, set-up, etc. The middle layer has six modules, which are installed in the FMS host computer with the upper layer and run on the multi-tasking basis. Each module is connected to one of six cell controllers distributed in the FMS model plant and transfers operation command down to each cell controller through the Ethernet/TCP-IP local area network. The lower layer is comprised of six cell control software modules for machining cell, assembly cell, inspection cell, set-up stations. AS/RS and AGV. Each cell controller reports the status of the manufacturing facilites to the middle layer as well as ecxecuting the appropriate sequence control of the manufacturing processes.

Revealing the complexity of ionized gas outflows in powerful Type 2 AGN in the local Universe

  • There exist scaling relations that link the mass of supermassive black holes with both the velocity dispersion and the mass of the central stellar cusp of their host galaxies. This implies that these two components grow in tandem. Feedback from actively accreting supermassive black holes (AGN), in the form of multi-phase gas outflows, has been argued to be the agent of this co-evolution. Here we employ the powerful GMOS integral field spectroscopy unit on the 8.2m Gemini-North telescope to investigate ionized gas outflows of luminous Type 2 AGN in the local Universe (z<0.1). Our sample of 6 galaxies is drawn from the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS) and was selected based on their [OIII] dust-corrected luminosity (>1042 erg/s) and signatures of outflows in the [OIII] line profile of their spatially integrated SDSS spectra. These are arguably the best candidates to explore AGN feedback in action since they are < 1% of a large local type 2 AGN SDSS sample selected based on their [OIII] kinematics. We combine a careful spectral decomposition of the [OIII] and $H{\alpha}$ line profiles with spatial information on ~0.5kpc scales to understand the outflow kinematics and energetics in these objects. We find clear evidence for strong outflows in [OIII] and occasionally $H{\alpha}$ that are clearly driven by the ionizing radiation of the AGN. We kinematically and spatially decompose outflowing and rotating ionized gas components. We find [OIII] to be a better tracer of AGN outflows, while $H{\alpha}$ appears to be strongly affected by both stellar rotation and outflows induced by ongoing star formation. The observed kinematics and spatial distribution of the ionized gas imply a large opening angle for the outflow. Finally, we find the projected outflow velocity to decrease as a function of distance, while its dispersion shows a more complex structure with a potentially initially increasing trend (out to 0.5-1kpc distances).

산촌지역축제의 서비스품질이 방문객의 만족도와 충성도에 미치는 영향분석 : 주왕산수달래축제를 대상으로 (Analysis on Influence of Service Quality on the Visitor Satisfaction and Loyalty toward a Mountainous Local Festival : A Case of Juwangsan Sudalrae Festival)

  • 본 연구는 산촌지역축제인 주왕산수달래축제를 대상으로 축제 품질서비스와 방문객만족도, 만족도와 방문객 충성도 및 축제효과 간의 개념적 구조관계를 분석하기 위하여 공변량구조모형분석을 실시하였다. 현지 설문조사는 2008년 주왕산수달래축제 방문객 445명에 대하여 조사가 이루어졌다. 분석결과, 축제 서비스품질을 구성하는 하위차원인 축제경험, 부대시설, 서비스 요인 모두 방문객만족에 영향을 주는 것으로 나타났으며, 방문객만족은 충성도와 축제효과에 영향을 주는 것으로 분석되었다. 축제 품질서비스 가운데 하위개념인 서비스 요인은 방문객만족도에 가장 큰 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 결과는 축제의 성공적 개최나 산촌지역주민에게 긍정적 효과를 주기 위해서는 축제진행요원의 환대(친절)나 행사안내와 같은 정보제공에 우선순위를 두어 집중적으로 관리함으로써 방문객만족을 향상시킬 수 있다는 이론적 근거를 제시하고 있다.

Qplus-T RTOS를 위한 원격 멀티 태스크 디버거의 개발 (Development of a Remote Multi-Task Debugger for Qplus-T RTOS)

  • 본 논문에서 인터넷 정보가전과 같은 Qplus-T 내장형 시스템을 위한 멀티 태스크 디버깅 환경에 대해 제안한다. 효과적인 교차 개발을 지원하기 위해 원격 멀티 태스크 디버깅 환경의 구조 및 기능틀을 제안할 것이다. 그리고, 좀더 효율적인 교차 개발 환경의 개발을 위하여 호스트-타겟 사이에 디버깅 커뮤니케이션 아키텍쳐를 개선할 것이다. 본 논문에서 제안하는 Q+Esto라는 원격 개발 도구들은 대화형 쉘, 원격 디버거, 리소스 모니터, 타겟 매니저, 그리고 디버그 에이전트들과 같이 몇 개의 독립된 도구들로 구성된다. 호스트에서 원격 멀티 태스크 디버거를 이용해서, 개발자는 타겟 실행 시스템 위에 태스크들을 생성시키거나 디버그 할 수 있으며, 실행 중인 태스크들에 접속하여 디버그 할 수 있다. 응용 코드는 C/C++ 소스레벨로 활 수 있으며, 어셈블리 레벨 코드로도 볼 수 있다. 그리고, 소스코드, 레지스터들, 지역/전역 변수들, 스택 프레임, 메모리, 그리고 사건 트레이스 등등을 위한 다양한 디스플레이 윈도우들을 포함하고 있다. 타겟 매니저는 Q+Esto 도구들에 의해 공유되는 공통된 기능 즉, 호스트-타겟 커뮤니케이션, 오브젝트 파일 로딩, 타겟 상주 호스트 메모리 풀의 관리, 그리고 타겟 시스템 심볼 테이블 관리 등등의 기능들을 구현한다. 이러한 기능들을 개방형 C API라고 부르는데, Q+Esto의 도구들의 확장성을 크게 개선한다. 그리고, 타겟 매니저와 타겟 시스템 커뮤니케이션을 위한 상대파트 모듈 즉, 디버그 에이전트가 존재하는데, 이것은 타겟의 실시간 운영체제 위에서 데몬 태스크 형태로 수행된다. 디버거를 포함한 호스트 도구로부터의 디버깅 요청을 밟아, 그것을 해석하고 실행하여, 그 결과론 호스트에 보내는 기능을 수행한다.
