The Smart Home and the Home Networking industry have growth rate in 53.9% per year, and many nations appoint it as a nation's developing industry to research and invest. As KS, a standard composing smart instruments for smart home, maintain systematically in every year, and in other side construction standardization only in way to indicate, but never has national standard. Based on the Modular Coordination(MC) the framing standard of design drawing was examined in every year, and in same way for making the framing standard about Smart Home there need making a Modular Coordination(MC) at first. This investigation recognize the necessity about the modular that will be the base of architectural space which control the smart instruments. And aimed at indicating smart modular through the research about modular of the existing residence space and survey about the applicable smart technology.

One of the major changes in the information era is that the concept of workplace is changing, Therefore this research is to provide basic data for future home office design by surveying office workers's opinions about preferred design for home office. This research is based on a survey of 215 office workers in Seoul. The major findings are ; Office workers prefer an isolated type of workplace that is arranged by U-shped workstation at home. Office workers preferred ivory color of walls and ceiling in home office, Brown color for the floor and brown ivory beige green and grey colors are preferred for the furniture. For home office furniture office workers put to an importance on desk chair computer table cabinet filbox sofa mobil lack credenza, and tea table.

In late 20th century, smart home market evolved in China, and absorbed best manpower and technology to commercialize the smart home equipment. Many foreign companies want to take possession of Chinese market, but not arrive at abundance yet. There has many reasons, but most important thing is ignoring the interaction between technical elements and spacial elements. in other words, ignoring the correlation between each industry. Korean smart home market evolved same period with Chinese, but it has balanced development in technic and application, so the commercialize and market arrived at poverty. In this study, survey the present situation of smart home about Korea and China, and compare the technical elements. In addition to analysis the interaction between smart spacial contents and technology. This study focused on the smart apartment, and analysis the strength and weakness in each country, and make theoretical basement for Korea to make certain about Chinese smart home market.

The purposes of this study were to identify the needs for ubiquitous home services in residential environment of elderly single or elderly couple households living without children and also to analyze the differences of the needs according to their demographic and housing characteristics. For this study, a literature review and field works on ubiquitous home services for older people were performed. Also, 1 to 1 interview by using the questionnaire which was developed by the researchers in this study was conducted and 270 elderly residents in Seoul and Gyeonggi-Do were responded. Seventy-one ubiquitous service items which were adopted to home electronic appliances and furniture for older people were developed for 1 to 1 interview questionnaire. The major findings of the study were as follows: the elderly residents expressed highest need for ubiquitous home service items related to safety and health issues. Among ubiquitous service items applied to gas stove, vacuum cleaner, TV, telephone, sofa and toilet, the items related to safety and health aspects were most needed. And residents' income level and health status were the two major variables to show group differences in the need of ubiquitous home services. In other words, the elderly residents who were high income and frail tended to have the highest demand for ubiquitous home services adopted to home electronic appliances and furniture.

Recently, the korean statistical information service reported that the elder people aged over 65 years take 11 percentage point of all population, indicating that the hyper-elder era will advent shortly. As a result, there are remarkably increasing demands for providing self-organizable home agent system for elder people. Of the home agent system, the ubiquitous home service is known to be useful to overcome this problem. However, current ubiquitous home services limited to provide functional services, and it can be observed that there is lack of consideration for elder-support products which are closely interacted with elder people in the living situation. In this paper, we analyze senior aids products that can be combined to the ubiquitous home service, and propose design procedure for senior aids products that can be applied to self-organizable ubiquitous services. We studied characteristics of elder people, current state of affairs for senior aids products, and home services that are highly required by elder people. Moreover, we observed that the ubiquitous home services related to health, safety, and amenity are urgently needed, and those services can be categorized according to residential areas. Following those observances, we proposed a design principle based on the universal design paradigm to provide self-organizable ubiquitous home service environment for elder people using senior aids products.

The purpose of this study was to improve the understanding of housing experiences of the married women in Korean sociocultural context and to explore their housing mobility. The grounded theory was adopted in this qualitative study. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with the seventeen married women. The major categories found in the data are 1) the inducement of housing mobility, 2) social constraint and opportunity, 3) the strategy and resource of housing mobility, 4) the intervening conditions, and 5) self-evaluation of their own housing life history. People construct their housing life history toward home ownership. There are a few factors to induce housing mobility, and social constraints and opportunity have an effect on obtaining home ownership. They utilize the diverse strategy and resource to solve their housing matter. Through interview, it is founded that they evaluate their housing career in the light of their life through interview.

There have been vigorous studies on smart home appliances with ubiquitous technologies overseas as well as in Korea. Kookmin university has provided a one-room type test bed as one of many experienced-type test beds and has applied many smart home appliances with ubiquitous technologies to the test bed to examine their interrelations and usability over a year. This article scrutinize applied situations and their problems of the appliances and based on the findings we suggest smart home appliances with ubiquitous technologies in various housing types.

This study conducted a content analysis of the treatises published in JKHEA(Journal of the Korean Home Economics Association). In total, 2,136 articles published in JKHEA from 1995 to the first half of 2009 were reviewed. Articles were classified by subject matters, research methods, number of researchers, presence of research fund, language and number of reference. Although it is useful to employ content analysis in reviewing academic articles on human ecology in all journal publications, the sheer size of literature available makes this task nearly impossible. As such, we have chosen JKHEA as a popular representative journal on human ecology. This study presented the empirical results of research trends and other characteristics in JKHEA. As such, the results of this study presented a snapshot analysis of research on human ecology and future trends.
