The rainbow hologram provides views of reconstruction with rainbow color within a large viewing zone. In our recent paper, a Fourier rainbow holographic display using diffraction grating and a white-light LED source was introduced. In this technique, the rainbow effect is realized by the dispersion of white-light source on diffraction grating, while the slit is implemented numerically by reducing the demands of the space-bandwidth product of the display. This paper presents a novel analysis on the visual perception of the Fourier rainbow holographic display using Wigner distribution. The view-dependent appearance of the image, including multispectral field of view and viewing zone, is investigated considering the observer and the display parameters. The resolution of the holographic view is also investigated. For this, a new quantitative assessment for image blur is introduced using Wigner distribution analysis. The analysis is supported with numerical simulations and experimentally captured optical reconstructions for the holograms of the computer model and real object generated with different slit size, reconstruction distance, and different observation conditions.
Defocused Fourier plane holograms are stored in disk-type holographic memories where thin recording media are used, the areal storage density per hologram and the intensity uniformity of the signal beam at the recording plane are studied. As the pixel pitch of the spatial light modulator that represents binary data increases, the storage density per hologram increases if exact Fourier holograms are stored. When defocused Fourier plane holograms are stored, however, we show that there exists an optimal pixel pitch that maximizes the area storage density per hologram in general, to increase the areal storage density per hologram, f/# of the Fourier transform lens that focuses the data image should be as small as possible. In this case, not only the intensity distribution at the recording plane but also the recording area becomes very sensitive to the degree of defocusing. Therefore, even if the exact Fourier plane holograms are stored, the defocusing effect owing to the medium thickness should be taken into account to achieve the maximal areal storage density per hologram.logram.

We derive the phase error of hologram due to imperfection of a wave plate, the azimuth angle error of a wave plate, and the azimuth angle error of a linear polarizer. Also, we analyze the effect of phase error by the modified triangular interferometer in case of 3-D image reconstruction of hologram.

It is introduced the phase error sources of a incoherent hologram in incoherent triangular holography and derived the reconstruction image of point-source including the phase error in the lateral direction. From the reconstruction image of point-source, we analyzed the effect of phase error on the lateral resolution. When the phase retardation errors and azimuth angle error of a wave plate and a polarizer range from 0 to $2{\pi}/15$, the normalized intensities of reconstructed images are down by about 0.1% and 2.3%, respectively.
This paper reviews the improved moving frame acoustic holography (MFAH) method and its application. Moving frame acoustic holography was originally proposed to increase the aperture size and the spatial resolution of hologram by using a moving line array of microphones. The hologram of scanned plane can be obtained by assuming the sound field to be product of spatial and temporal information. Although conventional MFAH was only applied to sinusoidal signals, it allows us to visualize the noise generated by moving noise sources by employing a vertical line array of microphones affixed to the ground. However, the sound field generated by moving sources becomes different from that of stationary ones due to the movement of the sources. Firstly, this paper introduces the effect of moving noise sources on the obtained hologram by MFAH and the applicability of MFAH to the visualization of moving sources. Secondly, this paper also reviews improved MFAH that can visualize a coherent narrow band noise and a pass-by noise. The practical applicability of the improved MFAH was demonstrated by visualizing tire noise during a pass-by test.

In this paper, we investigated the selective etching rate of amorphous As-Ge-Se-S thin film due to the photoexpansion effect and fabricated the 2-dimensional embossing type diffraction grating hologram. We measured the thickness change with the etching time among NaOH solution after forming 1-dimension diffraction grating. As a results, we found that the selective etching rate were $2.5\AA/s,\;3.3\AA/s,\;3.9\AA/s$ where NaOH solution concentration were 0.26N, 0.33N, 0.36N, respectively. Also after the formation of 2-dimensional diffraction grating by the $90^{\circ}$ degree of circulation on the formed 1-dimensional diffraction grating, we etched selectively during 60sec, among 0.26N NaOH solution and obtained 2-dimensional embossing diffraction grating. As the results of AFM (Atomic Force Microscopy), we confirmed the formation of distinct embossing type 2-dimensional diffraction grating hologram, successfully.
Optical interconnections are more attractive than electronic interconnections because of their higher speed, freedom from planar constraints, immunity to electromagnetic interference effects and higher interconnection capacity. Volume hologram is one of the best way to implement optical interconnections. Diffraction efficiency and crosstalk effect are very important things for ensuring independent interconnections. Recently, a general systematic method that can handle a large number of superposed volume gratings in anisotropic host material is presented. In this study for numerical analysis of diffraction, above method is programmed in general form near Bragg angle. Diffraction orders for variation of grating strength are determined by comparing with the coupled-mode method. The effects of parameter variation are considered. Parameters include vertical and azimuthal incident angle, wavelength and interaction length. Diffraction analyses are also performed for intra-mode and inter-mode diffractions.
We fabricated acrylamie photopolymer holographic recording materials by photopolymerization of acrylamide, and described hologram formation process. Light absorption and phtobleaching process by MB(methylene blue) dye and radical polymerization process due to TEA(triethanolamind) are explained in detail. We adopted the Beer-lambert law in order to explain the photobleaching kinetics. Dependencies of diffraction efficiency of the hologram on monomer amout and the exposure are investigated. The scattering effect caused by grain of polymer crystal, and fixing method are also illustrated.

In this paper, we propose a new subband quantizer which is a type of quad-tree for applying to digital hologram compression based on Fresenelet transform. After executing Fresnelet transform to the captured digital holgoram, we analyze effect of the designed quantizer for the reconstructed objects from analyzing average energy of each coefficient and visual importance in all subbands. We analyze distribution of coefficient and set dynamic range for each subband, and then design subband quantizer. For enhancing effectiveness of the designed quantize, we adopt a method using the coefficients which are located out of dynamic range, which are named by exception indices. From this, we can obtain more effective quantizer which has higher performance in a range of σ′ = 5.0.
In this study, we developed a world map learning system for elementary education that uses Google Cloud platform STT, Dialog Flow, and fan holograms to recognize the voices of learners and to show and explain three-dimensional images of suitable results as holograms. As a result of the experiments and interviews, it is expected to be helpful for improving the learning effect by inducing students' interest and immersion and is expected to be effectively used for collaborative learning and education for students with disabilities.
