Modern cloud computing is rapidly changing from traditional hypervisor-based virtual machines to container-based cloud-native environments. Due to limitations in I/O performance required for both virtual machines and containers, the use of high-speed storage (SSD, NVMe, etc.) is increasing, and in-memory computing using main memory is also emerging. Running a virtual environment on main memory gives better performance compared to other storage arrays. However, RAM used as main memory is expensive and due to its volatile characteristics, data is lost when the system goes down. Therefore, additional work is required to run the virtual environment in main memory. In this paper, we propose a hybrid in-memory storage that combines a block storage such as a high-speed SSD with main memory to safely operate virtual machines and containers on main memory. In addition, the proposed storage showed 6 times faster write speed and 42 times faster read operation compared to regular disks for virtual machines, and showed the average 12% improvement of container's performance tests.

유선인터넷의 다양한 서비스를 이동통신사의 무선인터넷처럼 이동성이 가미된 환경에서도 이용하고자 하는 요구가 점점 증가하고 있다. 이러한 요구사항을 충족시키기 위해 유선인터넷의 장점인 '초고속'과 무선인터넷의 '이동성'이 결합된 휴대인터넷서비스가 대안으로 등장하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 휴대인터넷 서비스의 개요, 특징 및 기존의 무선 서비스와의 비교분석과 이용자 요구사항 분석 등을 통하여 휴대인터넷에 기반한 도서관에서 적용 가능한 서비스를 조망한다. 특히 기존에 도서관에서 제공되고 있는 무선망 기반의 정보서비스에 대한 현황 및 문제점과 함께. 휴대인터넷을 기반으로 하는 정보서비스의 세부분야 및, 고려사항, 그리고 제공 방법에 대해 살펴보았다.

최근 이동환경에서의 고속 위성통신 서비스에 대한 요구가 증가하고 있다. 이러한 요구를 만족시키기 위해 유럽 및 북미지역에서는 지난 수년간 Ku대역을 활용한 고속이동체 대상의 이동형 위성통신 시스템 개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다. 하지만 기존의 이동형 위성통신 시스템은 수십 Kbps 정도의 전송속도를 제공하기 때문에 고속열차와 같이 다수의 그룹 사용자들을 대상으로 한 위성 인터넷 서비스 제공에 한계가 있다. 또한, 철도 운행구간에서 발생하는 N-LOS 환경에 대처하는 기술의 부재로 서비스 가용도가 크게 저하된다. 본 논문에서는 고속열차 승객을 대상으로 위성무선연동 전송기술을 이용하여 지상무선망과 동일한 수준의 끊김없는 인터넷 서비스를 제공하기 위한 이동형 광대역 위성 인터넷 접속 시스템에 대해 기술한다. 고속열차를 대상으로 이러한 서비스 제공을 위해서는 터널이나 역사(Railway Station)와 같은 N-LOS 환경에 대한 대처기술이 필요하며, LOS 환경에서도 철로상에 설치되어 있는 Electric Power Post 나 Power Bridge 등으로 인한 주기적이고 짧은 시간 동안의 신호열화 현상이나 고속 이동에 따른 도플러 현상에 대한 극복기술이 필요하다. 이를 위해 본 시스템에서는 안테나 다이버시티 기법 및 갭필러와 지상무선망과의 연동기술이 적용되어야 하며, 상위 레이어에서의 에러 정정 기술이 적용된다. 본 논문에서는 위와 같은 기술이 적용되어 고속열차 승객들을 대상으로 한 위성인터넷 서비스 기술에 대해 기술한다.

A practical iterative channel estimation technique is proposed for the multiple-input-multiple-output orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) system in the high-speed mobile environment, such as high speed railway scenario. In the iterative algorithm, the Kalman filter and data detection are jointed to estimate the time-varying channel, where the detection error is considered as part of the noise in the Kalman recursion in each iteration to reduce the effect of the detection error propagation. Moreover, the employed Kalman filter is from the canonical state space model, which does not include the parameters of the autoregressive (AR) model, so the proposed method does not need to estimate the parameters of AR model, whose accuracy affects the convergence speed. Simulation results show that the proposed method is robust to the fast time-varying channel, and it can obtain more gains compared with the available methods.

본 논문에서는 고효율을 유지하며 QoS를 보장하는 새로운 구조의 다중 입출력 버퍼링 방식의 스위치와 이 스위치에서 사용되는 새로운 중재 알고리즘인 Anti-Empty 알고리즘을 제안한다. 새로운 스위치 구조는 MIQ와 MOQ를 기본으로 하여 외부회선 속도와 동일한 속도를 가지는 버퍼를 사용하는 구조로 설계되었으며 기존 방식의 단점을 제거하고 QoS를 지원하기 위해 MOQ의 동작 방법에 새로운 방식을 도입하였다. 이로서 스위치 전체의 수율과 지연 등의 성능이 고 효율의 출력 버퍼형 스위치와 동일하면서 셀 손실이 없는 QoS를 지원하는 고속 스위칭을 보장한다.

인터넷을 통한 멀티미디어 지원 시스템들의 급속한 발전은 시공간의 제약을 극복하면서 진행되어야 하는 다양한 형태의 통신과 이를 통한 협동 연구를 가능하게 한다. 본 논문은 원거리 협업을 실감나게 지원하기 위한 미래지향적인 광대역 미디어 통신의 하나로 주목받는, 입체 (스테레오) 영상을 실제 네트워크를 통해 전달하고 재현하기 위해 필요한 요소 기술들을 다룬다. 구현된 시스템을 통하여 송신 측에서의 스테레오 영상 미디어 획득 및 처리, 대용량 데이타의 신뢰성 있는 실시간 전송, 수신 측에서의 복원 및 재현 과정 전반을 기술한다. 전송 성능은 선도망/연구망으로 구성된 실제 네트워크 상의 전송과 가상화된 LAN 테스트 베드 실험을 통하여 측정하였고, 고화질의 스테레오 영상을 전송하여 사용자에게 실감성과 몰입감을 제공할 수 있음을 보여준다.

인터넷 서비스의 폭발적인 증가로 기존에 사용하고 있던 통신망은 용량과 속도 등에서 한계에 부딪치며 개별 사용자가 이용하는 서비스 품질을 만족시키지 못하고 있다. 다양한 멀티미디어 통신서비스를 개별 사용자에게 제공하기 위해서는 가입자망의 광대역화가 이루어져야 한다. 그러나 가입자망의 광대역화에는 많은 시간과 비용을 필요로 한다. 따라서 FTTH(Fiber To The Home)가 일반화되기 이전까지 가장 경제적인 가입자망의 광대역화 방안으로 현행 전화선이나 전화기를 그대로 사용하면서도 고속데이터 통신이 가능한 전화선을 이용한 전송기술이 부각되고 있다. 이 논문에서는 전화선에 가변저항을 연결하여 속도향상에 관한 결과를 분석하였다.

High speed all optical network is a viable option to satisfy the exponential growth of internet usage in the recent years. Optical networks offer very high bit rates and, by employing technologies like internet protocol over wavelength division multiplexing(IP-over-WDM), these high bit rates can be effectively utilized. However, failure of a network component, carrying such high speed data traffic can result in enormous loss of data in a few seconds and persistence of a failure can severely degrade the performance of the entire network. Designing IP-over-WDM networks, which can withstand failures, has been subject of considerable interest in the research community recently. Most of the research is focused on the failure of optical links in the network. This paper addresses the problem of designing IP-over-WDM networks that do not suffer service degradation in case of a single link failure. The paper proposes an approach based on the framework provided by a recent paper by M. Kurant and P. Thiran. The proposed approach can be used to design large survivable IP-over-WDM networks.

인터넷을 기반으로 하는 IT 눈부신 발전과 더불어 언제, 어디서나, 시간과 장소에 구애받지 않고 인터넷을 사용할 수 있도록 하는 사회적 요구가 구체화 되고 있다. 이러한 요구에 부응하고자 국내에서는 시속 200km이상의 빠른 속도로 이동 중에 있더라도 초고속인터넷이나 방송 서비스를 제공할 수 있는 위성광대역 인터넷 시스템기술을 개발하고 있다. 본 연구에서는 위와 같이 개발된 시스템을 국내 고속철도(KTX)에 적용하여 서비스를 제공할 때, 관련 시설투자에 대한 경제적 타당성을 검토하고i라 한다. 경제성 분석을 위해 현재 유럽에서 이미 제공되고 있는 고속철도 인터넷서비스를 조사하였고, 국내 고속철의 특성을 감안하여 필요시설과 장비를 구성하여 항목별 비용분석을 수행하였다. 해외 사례와 비행기 등의 다른 운송수단에서 예상하고 있는 수요 및 요금 수준에 근거하여 고속철도 인터넷서비스 매출을 시나리오별로 전망하였으며, 각 시나리오에서 계산된 비용과 매출로부터 순현재가와 수익률을 산정 하였다. 본 연구의 결과는 관련 기술 개발에 대한 경제적 타당성 여부를 판단하는데 활용될 수 있으며, 비용효과적인 서비스 설계 및 구현에 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

There are many researches investigating a causal relationship among service performance level, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty. It is believed that a high service performance level increases customer satisfaction, which again has a significant effect on customer loyalty and profitability. The premise in this work is that the effect of customer satisfaction on customer loyalty may be time-lagged. This paper aims to model a causal relationship among service performance level, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty with such a time-lag consideration. This study is conducted on the very high-speed digital subscriber lines service, which is a highly advanced high-speed internet service, and the results also be discussed.
