One examined students' school library use in general, including the frequency, purpose, and effect of their library use, and the relative importance of the library in their campus life. The other examined and analyzed their perception of the benefit of the school library to determine if any differences exist among the following three levels: 1) libraries staffed with a dedicated teacher librarian, 2) libraries without a dedicated teacher librarian but active, and 3) libraries without a dedicated teacher librarian and inactive. The questionnaire to survey student's perception had 38 statements, The surveys on student's library use and their perceptions indicated that school libraries benefit the students' reading activities the most. The overall mean of the perception was 3.24(in 5 scales), There were distinct differences among the three levels of school library conditions: the mean for libraries with a teacher librarian scored highest at 3.37, libraries without a teacher librarian but active scored second highest at 3.20, and libraries without a teacher librarian and inactive scored lowest at 3.16. The levels of school library condition suggested direct links to the educational effect on students' achievements.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate junior high school students' and their parents' interests, preferences, and positive perceptions regarding Korean traditional food. This study may be used to provide the basic information for establishing an educational program about Korean traditional food. The self-administered questionnaires for students and their parents were used to examine the general characteristics of participants, perceptions of Korean traditional food, and experiences with traditional food at home. The data was analyzed by t-test and Chi-square test. The results are as follows. First, most students had a lower interest, preference, and positive perception of Korean traditional food than their parents. Second, the perception of traditional food among students was influenced by their experience with traditional food at home and the perceptions of their parents. Therefore, in order to keep and develop the Korean traditional food culture, an educational program for students as well as their parents to teach the advantages and the values of Korean traditional food, is needed. An educational program would help students have a more positive perception of Korean traditional food. In addition, this may encourage parents to serve more traditional foods at home and would increase the interest in eating and cooking Korean food. Thus, establishing an educational program could be a successful method for maintaining the Korean traditional food heritage for future generations.

For this study, 1460 second grade special high school students in Pusan were selected. And 1273 students and 56 teachers' questionnaires were used for analysis, while 5 questionnaires went uncompleted. T-test and Multiple Regression Analysis were used for compiling statistics of collected data. The results of this study are as follows: First, perceptions about the teacher's discipline style perceived by between teacher him/herself and student were different. Second, the levels of student's school life satisfactions were different by two group. A group which has an accordant perception for class teacher's discipline style perceived by teacher him/herself and student shows the high level of school life satisfaction than B group which has an discordant perception. Last, class teacher's discipline style which affects the level of student's school life satisfaction was different by the two group. These results suggest that to increase the level of student's school life satisfaction, class teachers have to a mutual understanding first, and then approach their students with different discipline style by the level of their interactive relationship with their students.
