The study aims present data collection on the current state of safety and safety consciousness in universities' laboratories to verify the relation between investigation factors and further draw implications. The first finding is that laboratories with high risk level do not have better safety management performance than those with lower risk level. Secondly, labs that experienced accidents has a higher level of control than those without any. Regarding to the university's acceptance of safety requirements, the group with a high level of risk awareness or accidents were concerned that their universities did not provide sufficient support in safety management. It means that safety is low on the list of priorities in Universities' overall agenda and individual labs are responsible of their own safety. Most of the causes of accidents in the labs are man-made than physical errors. It requires that continuous safety educations and measures through safe research activities are means to eliminate and reduce the individual's safety frigidity. Through the survey, it is known that current education's system and contents are too generalized to reflect the characteristics of each laboratory. Thus, it is difficult to recognize various risk situations and to actually prevent safety accidents. Therefore, it is necessary to shift to customized curriculum and system for various major fields.
In this study, ethylene-propylene-diene monomer (EPDM) rubbers reinforced with various particle size of carbon black were prepared and tested. We followed recently published CSA/ANSI CHMC2 standard "the test methods for evaluating material compatibility in compressed hydrogen applications-polyemr". Measurement of change in hardness, tensile strength and volume were performed after exposure to maximum operating pressure, 87.5 MPa, for 168 hours (1 week). Once EPDM was exposed to high-pressure hydrogen, the samples experience volume increase and degradation of the physical properties. Also, after the dissolved hydrogen was fully eliminated from the specimens, the hardness and the tensile properties were not recovered. The rubber reinforced with smaller sizes of carbon black particles showed less volume expansion and decrease of physical properties. As a result, smaller particle size of carbon black filler led to more resistance to high-pressure hydrogen.

Data were analyzed using hierarchical multiple regressions using SPSS/WIN 28.0. Results : In the multiple regression analysis, the medication safety competence has a statistically significant correlation with the working department, the critical thinking disposition, and medication error risk level of high-alert medication. Conclusion : Based on the results of this study, it is suggested to develop and apply an educational strategy that can strengthen the knowledge and skills of critical thinking disposition and medication error risk level of high-alert medication to improve the ICU nurse's medication safety competency.
In this study, we have developed a composite pressure vessel that is compact and can store refrigerant at high pressure to increase the refrigerant volume. The composite pressure vessel is made of aluminum-based duralumin, which has high rigidity and excellent elongation in the inner liner, considering the characteristics of products in the aerospace and defense industry, where the safety of the applied product is considered as a priority. High strength carbon fiber was applied to the outside. In order to evaluate the performance of the developed product, burst test and cycling test were carried out. In burst test, an excellent safety margin equivalent to 2.7 times the operating pressure was obtained. In cycling test, a stable failure mode in which 'pre-burst leak' occurs is proved and the soundness of the product is proved.

The purpose is to evaluate evacuation safety by simulating the toxic effects of hydrogen fluoride leaks in areas surrounding national industrial complexes and to suggest alternatives for areas that do not satisfy evacuation safety. For human casualties caused by hydrogen fluoride leakage accidents, Available Safe Egress Time (ASET) is calculated by the toxic effects quantified with the Areal Locations of Hazardous Atmospheres (ALOHA), an off-site consequence assessment program. The Required Safe Egress Time (RSET) is calculated through Pathfinder, an evacuation simulation program. Evacuation safety is assessed by comparing ASET and RSET. The ALOHA program was used to evaluate the time to reach AEGL-2 concentration in 12 scenarios. The Pathfinder program was used to assess the total evacuation time of the high school among specific fire-fighting objects. Of the 12 accident scenarios, ASET was larger than RSET in the worst-case scenarios 1 and 9. For the remaining 10 accident scenarios, the ASET is smaller than the RSET, so we found that evacuation safety is not guaranteed, and countermeasures are required. Since evacuation safety is not satisfactory, we proposed to set up an evacuation area equipped with positive pressure equipment and air respirators inside specific fire-fighting objects such as the high school.
Portable ladders are normally used both as an access tool for ascending and descending and as a platform for high place work. Though convenient, such usages make the portable ladders vulnerable to fall accidents. For this reason, many safety systems such as regulations and certifications are implemented to prevent fall accidents of portable ladders. However, nevertheless of those safety systems in Korea, annual death tolls of ladder fall accidents has remained high, and which suggests modification and improvement of the portable ladder related safety systems in Korea. The aim of this study is to propose directions for improving safety systems to effectively prevent fall accidents of portable ladders. To this end, comparative analysis on safety systems implemented in Korea and other countries including Japan, USA and UK are conducted to investigate the problems of Korean safety systems. Based on the analysis, limitations of Korean safety systems to prevent ladder fall accidents are discussed and tasks to overcome the limitations are proposed. Once implemented, the proposed tasks would contribute to prevent ladder fall accidents effectively.

Furthermore, this study explores the curriculum for pediatric dentistry residency programs, emphasizing concepts such as high-reliability organizations and mortality and morbidity conferences. The study suggests the need for initiatives to enhance patient safety, including establishing safety committees, expanding reporting systems, policy development, and supporting research related to patient safety. In conclusion, this study underlines key messages, emphasizing the utmost priority of patient safety, acknowledging the inevitability of human error, promoting effective communication, and cultivating a patient safety culture. These principles are vital for advancing patient safety in pediatric dental care and improving outcomes among pediatric patients.
Norovirus surrogate (feline calicivirus) was inactivated by treatment at 50,000 psi for 60 sec by 6.8-$log_{10}TCID_{50}mL^{-1}$. Tissue obtained from oyster (digestive gland, gill and mantle) was qualitatively destroyed and distorted by treatment at pressure greater than 5,000 psi for 60 sec. High pressure treatment induced progressive changes in the color of the oyster adductor muscle. High pressure treatment effectively reduced norovirus surrogate but induced conformational changes in the tissue and color of oyster flesh.
The purpose of this study is to suggest a method to support decision making of researchers, when we estimate the safety of the high-speed railway using F-AHP. To apply this method, Korean type of high-speed railway was engaged, and the 8 Stages of accident type and the five criteria were suggested that we must meet. Then, the interview with the researchers working for high-speed railway was used to confirm the alternatives suggested. The employed F-AHP for this study estimate using emotional words based on AHP of Saaty, so it is very good to estimate the high-speed railway safety.
