Collision Risk Analysis in Busan Harbour

  • This thesis, concentrates on marine collision risks of the area divided by cells. Using a gas molecular collision calculation model, a collision risk model is proposed. Collision risk is estimated by relative angle, relative speed, and ship's density in the cell. For one week, Automatic Identification System (AIS) data was collected and analyzed on the Busan North Port area. The results indicate a high-risk area at the sea route connection point in Busan North Port. It also shows that twilight is the time of day when most collisions occur. This means that the area is high risk due to the number of collisions and other dangerous factors related to twilight. Although there is still need to consider other risks such as grounding risks, the results of this study are useful to for plotting a risk map for the port.

최적안전항로를 위한 충돌위험도 평가시스템의 개발 (Development of a Collision Risk Assessment System for Optimum Safe Route)

  • 선박의 통행량이 많은 연안해역은 선박들 사이에 복잡한 조우상황이 자주 발생하기 때문에 충돌사고의 가능성이 높다. 따라서 해상에서 충돌사고를 줄이기 위해서는 항해사의 국제충돌예방규칙(COLREG) 준수에 더하여 정량적인 충돌위험평가가 요구된다. 본 연구에서는 선박의 계획항로에 대한 충돌위험을 평가하기 위한 새로운 충돌위험도 평가시스템이 개발되었다. 먼저 기존의 충돌위험 평가모델들을 검토함으로써 적절한 충돌위험 평가방법이 제시되었다. 시스템은 MATLAB을 사용하여 개발되었으며 해도, 범퍼 및 평가의 세 부분으로 구성된다. 개발된 시스템은 시험을 위해 간단한 계산조건으로 시험해역에 적용되었으며, 그리고 검증을 위해 실제 계산조건으로 실제해역에 적용되었다. 그 결과 충돌위험은 자선의 길이, 항해시간 및 항로 등에 의해 영향을 받는 것으로 나타났다. 개발된 시스템은 항해사가 출항전 최적안전항로를 선택하는데 도움을 줄 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.

해양경찰 함정 실험을 통한 선박충돌 위험도의 변화가 최대인 거리 식별에 관한 연구 (Distance Identification for Maximum Change in Ship Collision Risk through a Coast Guard Patrol Ship Experiment)

  • 해상에서 두 척의 대형 해양경찰 함정을 이용하여 충돌 가능성이 높은 네 가지 조우방위각($000^{\circ}$, $045^{\circ}$, $090^{\circ}$, $135^{\circ}$)을 설정하여 피험자인 30명의 해양경찰관을 대상으로 조우방위별 거리 3해리(Nautical Mile: NM)에서부터 0.25 NM까지 근접하며 상대거리가 점차 감소될 때 피험자들이 상대선박을 보며 지각한 충돌위험도(Perceived Ship Collision Risk, PSCR)를 측정(0.25 NM 간격으로 기록)하는 실험을 하였고 획득된 데이터를 이용하여 특징을 통계적으로 분석하였다. 본 연구의 목적은 인적오류 예방을 위하여 실선 실험한 선박 조우방위별 상대거리 3 NM에서 0.25 NM까지의 열두 구간에서 획득한 충돌위험도 값을 적정 다항식으로 곡선 근사(Curve Fitting)하여 분포곡선으로 나타내고 특징을 분석하여 항해당직자들이 지각한 충돌위험도의 변화가 최대인 거리를 제시하기 위한 것이다. 분석결과, 각 조우방위에서 거리 구간별 최적의 회귀방정식을 도출하였으며 거리 1.25 1 NM 구간에서 충돌위험도 평균값의 편차가 가장 크게 변화되었고, 특히 1 NM에서 충돌위험도 값이 가장 크게 나타나 실선 실험결과 항해당직자가 지각(Perception)한 충돌위험도의 변화 값이 최대인 거리가 1 NM임을 도출 및 검증하였으며 이는 선박 충돌가능성이 높은 근접상황에서 인적오류 예방 자료로 유용할 것으로 기대된다.

선박의 충돌회피를 위한 자동제어에 관한 기초적 연구 (A Study on the Automatic Control for Collision Avoidance of the Ships)

  • 해난사고에 있어 어선의 사고율은 높은 비율을 차지한다. 특히, 소형어선의 사고율이 가장 높아, 이러한 사고를 예방할 수 있는 기술들이 필요한 실정이다. 본 논문에서는 충돌회피를 위한 자동제어를 두 가지 과정으로 구성하고 있다. 하나는 퍼지추론을 이용한 위험도의 추론이며 나머지는 첫 번째 과정에서 계산된 위험도를 토대로 선박을 조종하는 과정이다. 위험도를 평가하기 위해서 선박의 위치와 충돌예상시점에 의한 정보(DCPA and TCPA)를 이용하였다. 이 방법의 실효성을 검증하기 위해 어선의 충돌회피운동을 MMG 수학모델에 의해 시뮬레이션 하였다. 시뮬레이션 결과는 선박의 충돌회피에 유효함을 알아다.

선박간 충돌 위험상황에서의 항해사 정보처리 특성에 관한 연구 (Mariner's Information Processing Characteristics in Ship-to-Ship Collision Situation)

  • The purpose of the present study was to investigate the mariner's information characteristics in ship-ta-ship collision situation using the full mission ship-handling simulator. Risk levels of ship-to-ship collision were manipulated by whether the target ship complies with the naval regulations and by movement patterns of target ship. Dependent variables reflecting mariner's information characteristics in ship-ta-ship collision situation were measured in terms of radar detection reaction time, free recall performance of past navigation situation, and subjective ratings for the task difficulty. The results showed that, in general, the mariners appeared to be deteriorated in their radar detection reaction time and free recall performance as the risk of ship-ta-ship collision increased. Also, the mariners tended to rate required tasks more difficult in the high risk ship-ta-ship collision situation.

  • From the research which it sees the safety regarding a high-speed railway vehicle collision and a derailment evaluation research it an example and executed. Japan, France, Germany and Spain, Italy and with our country together it compared a high-speed railway vehicle collision of the high-speed railroad operating nation and derailed relation safety standard and safety against the evaluation system trade name comparison it analyzed. The research which it sees it led and the accident instance against the hazard analysis against the collision and a derailment of the high-speed railway vehicle and a risk evaluation together and a high-speed vehicle collision and derailed it cannot prevention plan from hereafter domestic comparison it analyzed forecast it presented.

신경 회로망을 이용한 보행자와의 충돌 위험 판단 방법 (Collision Risk Assessment for Pedestrians' Safety Using Neural Network)

  • This paper proposes a new collision risk assessment system for pedestrians's safety. Monte Carlo Simulation (MCS) method is a one of the most popular method that rely on repeated random sampling to compute their result, and this method is also proper to get the results when it is unfeasible or impossible to compute an exact result. Nevertheless its advantages, it spends much time to calculate the result of some situation, we apply not only MCS but also Neural Networks in this problem. By Monte carlo method, we make some sample data for input of neural networks and by using this data, neural networks can be trained for computing collision probability of whole area where can be measured by sensors. By using this trained networks, we can estimate the collision probability at each positions and velocities with high speed and low error rate. Computer simulations will be shown the validity of our proposed method.

  • Saigon Port within the port system of the Vietnam Maritime sector is one of the port having highest throughput and productivity in the country. The marine traffic of Saigon water ways is the heaviest in Vietnam and the number of marine accidents in this area are much higher than the others area in Vietnam. In order to reduce the risk of the accident in Saigon fairway, this paper concentrates on marine accident frequency in this area. The marine traffic and the marine accident were analyzed to find out the probability of vessel collision and the marine traffic risk. It follows that the main shipping route through Saigon fairway has the high risk of ship-ship collision.

Mitigation of seismic pounding between RC twin high-rise buildings with piled raft foundation considering SSI

  • High-rise buildings (HRBs) are considered one of the most common structures nowadays due to the population growth, especially in crowded towns. The lack of land in crowded cities has led to the convergence of the HRBs and the absence of any gaps between them, especially in lands with weak soil (e.g., liquefaction-prone soil), but then during earthquakes, these structures may be exposed to the risk of collision between them due to the large increase in the horizontal displacements, which may be destructive in some cases to the one or both of these adjacent buildings. To evaluate methods of reducing the risk of collision between adjacent twin HRBs, this research investigates three vibration control methods to reduce the risk of collision due to five different earthquakes for the case of two adjacent reinforced concrete (RC) twin high-rise buildings of 15 floors height without gap distance between them, founded on raft foundation supported on piles inside a liquefaction-prone soil. Contact pounding elements between the two buildings (distributed at all floor levels and at the raft foundation level) are used to make the impact strength between the two buildings realistic. The mitigation methods investigated are the base isolation, the tuned mass damper (TMD) method (using traditional TMDs), and the pounding tuned mass damper (PTMD) method (using PTMDs connected between the two buildings). The results show that the PTMD method between the two adjacent RC twin high-rise buildings is more efficient than the other two methods in mitigating the earthquake-induced pounding risk.

Control System for Ship Collision Avoidance considering the Effect of Wind and Ship's Manoeuvrability

  • The studies on automatic ship collision avoidance system, which have been carried out in the last 10 years, are facing on new situation due to newly developed high technology such as computer and other information system. It was almost impossible to make it used in real navigation field 3-4 years ago because of the absence of any tool to give other ship's information, however recently developed technology suggests new possibility. This study is carried out to develop the automatic ship collision avoidance support system which considers ship's manoeuvrability into it's collision avoidance algorithm. One of the important part in ship collision avoidance system is collision decision module which can calculate collision risk with other ships and act properly to avoid the situation. Many of previous researches are using present ship's dynamic data such as present speed, position and course to calculate collision risk. However when a ship commences avoidance action, the real situation is quite different with one that has been estimated by the ship's initial data due to the ship's manoeuvring characteristic. Therefore it is better to take into account ship's manoeuvring characteristic from the stage of collision decision in ship collision avoidance system. In this study, these effects are included in the developed system. The proposed system are verified its usefulness in numerical simulation environments.
