해조류(톳, 감태) 혼합물의 사료 내 첨가가 넙치의 선천성 면역과 질병저항성에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Dietary Supplementation of Alga Mixtures (Hizikia fusiformis and Ecklonia cava) on Innate Immunity and Disease Resistance Against Edwardsiella tarda in Olive Flounder (Paralichthys olivaceus))

  • We report non-specific immune responses and its disease resistance against Edwardsiella tarda by alga mixture (HE; Hizikia:Ecklonia) in olive flounder for the first time. Five isonitrogenous (44% crude protein) and isocaloric (17.1 MJ $kg^{-1}$) diets were formulated to have 0%, 2%, 4%, 6% and 8% of the alga mixture. One of five experimental diets was fed triplicate groups of fish (30 fish/group) to apparent satiation in a flow through system. After a two week feeding, blood was sampled at 3, 6, 12, 24 h after the last feeding for a kinetic measurement of nitroblue tetrazolium (NBT) activity and healthy fish with similar sizes in each tank were selected and injected with 1 mL of E. tarda suspension ($1.0\times10^7$ CFU/mL) to evaluate the disease resistance of the fish. Dietary supplementation of alga mixtures resulted in significantly higher non-specific immune responses compared with the fish fed the control diet. The cumulative mortality was significantly lower in the fish groups fed alga mixture containing diets than control group in the challenge test with E. tarda. Therefore, the results in this study indicate that dietary supplementation of Hizikia and Ecklonia mixtures enhance the non-specific immune responses and a disease resistance of olive flounder.

한국 여대생의 골밀도에 영향을 미치는 요인 분석 연구 (Some Factors Affecting Bone Density of Korean College Women)

  • Dietary and other factors affecting bone density of 32 Korean healthy college women aged 19-23 years were assessed. Data for food and nutrient intake was obtained by a semiquantitiative food frequency questionnaire. Serum samples were anlayzed for total Ca, P, Ca++, PTH, calcitonin and 25-hydroxycholecalciferol , (25-OH-Vit D3) and BMDs of lumbar spine(L2-L4), femoral neck(FN), ward's triangle (WT) and trochanter(TR) were measured by an XR-series X-ray bone densitometer. Relationships between the factors and BMDs were analyzed by stepwise multiple regression analysis and Pearson's correlation coefficient(r). The results are summarized as follows. Mean daily intake of energy(86.1%), Ca(74.3%), vitamin A (53.75), Fe(49.75) and vitamin B$_2$(86.6%) were lower while other notrients incuding P(126%) were higher than the Korean RDA. The BMDs of lumbar spines and femurs ranged from 0.73g/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to 1.23g/$\textrm{cm}^2$and 0.48g/$\textrm{cm}^2$ to 1.04g/$\textrm{cm}^2$, respectively. Both protein and P intakes were inversely associated with serum total Ca. Furthermore, Ca intake as well as Ca/P ratio (Ca/P) were inversely associated with serum ionized Ca(Ca++) concentration. The intakes of protein P and Ca , however, were not significantly associated with the BMDs measured in this study. There were little association between BMDs and alcoholic beverage or caffeine consumption. The only significant association detected was a positive relationship between caffeine consumption and BMD of WT. It seemed to be noticeable that BMDs of L2-L$_4$, FN and WT were significantly inversely associated with serum P concentration. However, there was no significant association between BMDs and the levels of total Ca to Ca++ in serum. Body weight was positively associated with BMD of lumbar spine and BMI was also positively associated with BMDs of FN and WT. The subjects who had an early menarche appeared to have higher BMDs than those who had had a late mearche. According to stepwise multiple regression analysis. Menarche and BMI were stronger determinants of BMDs in the young women than was diet. P intake appeared to be a more potent dietary determinant than Ca intake. The three factors, menarche, BMI , and P intake , additionally accounted for 24% and 378% of the variance in BMDs of FN and L$_2$-L$_4$, respectively. Further investigation is necessary to determine the factors needed to increase serum P level which negatively affects. BMD in young Korean college women.

성인여성의 식습관과 영양섭취상태와 골밀도 및 골무기질함량과의 관계 (The Relationship between Food Habit, Nutrient Intakes and Bone Mineral Density and Bone Mineral Content in Adult Women)

  • Bones are important parts in sustaining the shape of the body, but they are also metabolic organs which undergo bone remodeling by constant bone resorption and formation. Osteoporosis, the typical metabolic bone disease, is characterized by a reduction in bone mineral density (BMD). Women more than men are at risk fir osteoporosis-related fractures, especially in the lumbar spine, wrist, and hip region. Risk of fracture depends on one's BMD, which open determined by the peak bone mass value achieved at skeletal maturity and followed by subsequent age-and menopause-related bone loss. Genetic and environmental factors are known to play a key role in bone metabolism and diet is considered as one of the important environmental factors. The purpose of the present study was to assess the status of BMD and bone mineral content(BMC) to clarify the relationships between dietary intakes and the risk of osteoporosis in adult women in Taegu. Subjects were 130 healthy females in between 20 and 69 years of age. BMD and BMC of the lumbar spine(venebrae L2-4) of the subjects were measured by dual energy X-ray absorptiometry. The average age of the subjects was 47.4${\pm}$11.7 years old, the average weight was 57.2${\pm}$8.4kg, the average age of menarche was 16.6${\pm}$1.9 years old and the average age of menopause was 48.4${\pm}$5.3 years old. The nutrient intakes of the subjects measured by the convenient method were generally lower than the level of RDA. The result of nutrient intake assessed has shown that the average energy intake was 1701${\pm}$316kca1 which is 85.1% of the RDA and the average calcium intake was 485.4${\pm}$172.3mg which is 69.3% of the RDA. The intakes of protein, vitamin A, vitamin B$_1$, niacin were greater than the RDA, whereas the remaining nutrient intakes were lower than the RDA. The average BMD of the subjects was shown to be 1.06${\pm}$1.09g/$\textrm{cm}^2$. The highest BMD of 1.24${\pm}$0.14g/$\textrm{cm}^2$ was noticed in the subjects of 30s compared to 20s, 40s, 50s, 60s. The BMD values were compared by the relative body weight(R3W) of the menopause subjects, and it was found that the underweight group had significant lower BMB while the rest of the groups did not have any differences in BMD. The most strongly correlated nutrient with BMD among the menopause subjects appeared to be calcium. The women whose Ca intakes were higher than 500mg showed the significantly higher BMD than those with Ca intakes lower than 500mg. This study suggests that the most effective way to prevent osteoporosis and to reduce the incidences of fractures seems to be minimizing bone loss through the adequate intake of calcium as well as avoiding underweight, especially in menopausal women. Dietary Habits Contributing to Breast Cancer Risk Among Iranian Women

  • Background: The aim of this study was to investigate demographic features, dietary habits, and some possible risk factors for being susceptible to breast cancer in Iranian women. Materials and Methods: A study of dietary habits and breast cancer was conducted among 53 Iranian women with histological confirmed disease and 40 matched controls. A dietary habits questionnaire was used to evaluate the pattern of selected food intakes. The risk of cancer was analyzed after adjustment for confounding factors. Age, weight, body mass index (BMI), waist circumference, educational status, parity, lactation, marital status, menopause, history of estrogen therapy, and family history of breast disease or cancer were assessed among participants. Special attention was given to the relationship between consumption of high fat meat, milk, yogurt and cheese as well use of frying oils for frying foods, use of olive/liquid oils for cooking, removing fat from meat and poultry, removing chicken skin and not use of mayonnaise as salad dressing and the risk of breast cancer. Moreover, salad, vegetable and fruit consumption, and eating outdoors owere investigated. Results: Our results revealed significant lower education and higher BMI and waist circumference levels in patients with breast cancer. There was significantly increased breast cancer risk in overweight women in comparison with normal weight (OR=2.91, 95%CI 1.24 to 6.82). High intake of fat dairy products including milk and cheese was found to be a statistically significant factor for increasing breast cancer risk in models adjusting for age, BMI and education. Use of olive/liquid oils for cooking and avoidance of mayonnaise as salad dressing are related to lower risk of breast cancer. The frequency of vegetable and fruit consumption was significantly lower in patients with breast cancer compared to healthy women. Conclusions: Dietary habits might be risk factors for breast cancer among Iranian women. Adoption of a prudent diet could be an appropriate strategy for preventing breast cancer.

Habermas의 세 행동체계를 융합한 초·중·고등학교 가정교과 식생활 교육과정 개발 (Development of Dietary Life Curriculum in Elementary and Secondary Schools Home Economics that Integrated Habermas's Three Systems of Action)

  • 이 연구의 목적은 세 가지 행동체계를 융합한 초·중·고등학교 가정교과 식생활 교육과정의 내용체계를 개발하여 가정교과에서의 융합교육 방안을 마련하는 데 목적이 있다. 이러한 목적을 이루기 위해서 문헌 고찰을 통해 세 행동체계를 융합한 초·중·고등학교 식생활 교육과정의 특징, 개발의 중점사항, 핵심역량, 목표를 도출하였고, 국내외 식생활교육 문헌, 국내외 가정과교육과정과 교과서를 고찰하여 항구적 문제와 하위 실천적 문제를 설정하고, 내용 요소를 선정하였다. 개발된 교육과정의 내용체계가 타당한지 전문가 타당도 검사를 하여 수정·보완하였고, 세 행동체계를 융합한 중학교 가정교과 식생활 교육과정의 성취기준을 개발하였다. 세 행동체계를 융합한 초·중·고 가정교과 식생활 교육과정의 내용 체계는 실천적 문제를 중심으로 되어있으며, 항구적 문제는 '건강한 식생활을 실천하기 위해 무엇을 해야 하는가?'이다. 이 교육과정의 영역은 5가지로 '건강과 식생활', '식단계획', '식품 구매와 관리', '조리', '식사'이며, 이 영역이 '개인과 가족', '사회'로 교육과정의 범위가 반복적으로 확장되어 있다. 이에 따라 5개 영역의 실천적 문제는 초·중·고등학교 급별, 두 차원(개인과 가족, 사회)으로 10개씩의 실천적 문제로 구성되어 있으며, 계열화의 원리가 적용되어 실천적 문제와 내용 요소가 나선형적 계열화가 되어있다. 이 교육과정의 내용 체계를 우리나라 2015 초등학교 실과와 중·고등학교 기술·가정과, 가정과학 교육과정의 식생활 영역 성취기준 및 학습 요소와 비교한 결과, 2015 개정 교육과정의 내용을 모두 포함하면서 더 추가된 내용이 있었다.

일부 종합병원 간호사의 건강증진생활양식에 대한 실천정도와 영향요인에 관한 연구 (A Study on Health-Promoting Lifestyle and Its Affecting Factors of Hospital Nurses)

  • The chances of disease pattern increased the importance of Health-promoting Lifestyle and a large part of the Health-promoting Lifestyle is associated with individual's habit. Health-promoting Lifestyle among nurses is very important because nurses could be a role model of patients and possibly influence many patients. The purpose of this study was oat on1y to assess how hospital nurses practice their Health-promoting Lifestyle but also to identify those affecting determinants. The subjects were 392 nurses working at 3 different hospital in Seoul. These data were collected by self administered questionnaire from April 27 to May 20, 2000. This study examined Health-promoting Lifestyle using In Sook Park's model, individual characteristics. Behavior-specific Cognitions and Affect factors using Pender's model and tried to fine out their relationships. The instruments used in this study were Health-promoting Lifestyle Profile developed by In Sock Park(1995). Likert's four-point scale was used also in this research. The percentage, mean standard deviation, AVNOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficient and multiple regression in the SAS package were used to analyze the data. The results of this study were as follows; 1. 52.3% of sample were aged between 25 and 29, 67.1% were single, 55.6% were university graduates, 51.8% earned 1.5 to 2.0 million won, 57.9% slept for d to 8 hours, 74.5% stated they were healthy. 2. 32.7% of sample worked in surgical gird department, 82.4% worked in 3 shift, 26.3% have been working as nurses for 5 to 7 years. Average score of Perceived self-efficacy was 3.63, Perceived benefits of action was 3.25, Social support was 2.75, and Perceived barriers to action was 1.87 which was the lowest score. 3. The average score if the performance in Health-promoting Lifestyle variable was 2.45 which was lower than previous study. The sanitary life Was 3.18 which was the highest score, harmonious relationship 3.13, emotional support 2.90. The variable with the highest degree of performance was the sanitary life, whereas the one with the west degree was the health diet. 4. There were no significant difference in perceived benefits of action with individual's a character, but in Perceived bait his of action there were significant differences with age(p<.01), marital status(p<.05), housing(p<.05), and Perceived health status(p<.05). In Perceived self-efficacy, there were significant differences with educational level(p<05), sleeping hours(p<.05), and BMI(p<.05). In Social support here were significant difference with housing and sleeping hours.

일상식이섭취상태와 신체계측 및 혈액화학적 영양지표에 의한 혈액투석 환자의 영양결핍상태 평가 (Evaluation of Nutritional Deficit Status in Hemodialysis Patients' Based on Usual Dietary Intake, Anthropometric and Biochemical Parameters)

  • Long-term hemodialysis(HD) patients manifest various signs of protein and caloric malutrition due to poor intake of nutrients and other causes. Poor nutritional status increases the mortality and morbidity rates in HD patients. Thus, mataintnance of adequate nutritional status has been a major task in taking care of patients receiving HD. This study was to evaluate the nutritional status of HD patients and to clarify the degree of nutritional deficit based on usual dietary intake, anthropometric and biochemical indicators. Sixty HD patients comprised a HD group, while the control group consisted of 60 healthy adults whose age and sex matched those of the HD group. Nutritional status was evaluated by dietrary intake using instant nutritional scale, anthropometric measures, serum protein concentrations and the number of lymphocytes. The data were analyzed by using Chi-square test and unpaired t-test. The results are as follows. 1. Regarding usual dietary intake of HD group. 1) Estimated caloric intake was significantly lower than the recommended daily allowance(RDA) and among them, 35% were taking calories less than 85% of the RDA. 2) Estimated protein intake was significantly higher than the RDA and among them 40% were taking protein more than 115% of the RDA. 3) Estimated fat intake was lower than the RDA. 4) Vitamin A, B, $B_1,\;B_2$, C and niacin in take was lower than the RDA respectively. 5) Estimated ferrous intake was within the normal limit the RDA while estimated calcium intake was higher than the RDA. 6) Both calorie and protein intake were higher for the 10 patients who had been under continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis than for the patients under HD from the beginning. 2. Regarding anthropometric measures : 1) Body mass index(BMI), midarm circumference(MAC), and triceps skinfold thickness(TSF) were lower in the HD group than in the control group. 2) Among HD group, 47.1% were within the normal limit of BMI, while 86.7% were within the same limit in the control group. 3) Among HD group, 35.0% were within the normal limit of MAC, while 83.3% were within the same limit in the control group. 4) Among HD group, only 8.3% were normal, 30.3% were mild deficit status of TSF, while 50% were normal and 48.3% were mild deficit status in the control group. 3. Regarding biochemical laboratory tests 1) Albumin, transferrin concentrations and the number of lymphocytes were lower in HD group than in the control group. 2) Among HD group, 98.3% were within the normal limit of albumin concentration and all were within the same limit in the control group. 3) Among HD group, only 11.7% were within the normal limit of transferrin concentration, while 81.7% were within the same limit in the control group. 4) Among HD group, 25% were within the normal limit, while 93.3% were within the same limit in the control group. The above findings suggest that HD patients were in nutritional deficit status. Adequate diet therapy and periodical evaluation of the nutritional status in HD patients are needed. Accordingly, it turned out that anthropometric measures were very reliable parameters and easy to use to evaluate nutritional status. So nurses are encouraged to adopt anthropometric measures to examine nutritional deficit status of HD patients.

우리나라 초기성인(20-39세)의 동반식사 유무에 따른 정신건강상태에 대한 융합적 연구 : 제 6기 국민건강영양조사(2013-2015) (Convergence Study of Eating Together And Mental Health within 20-30's : Using 6th(2013-2015) Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey(KNHANES VI))

  • 본 연구는 제 6기 국민건강영양조사(2013-2015)의 원시자료를 이용한 2차 분석연구로, 초기성인의 동반식사 유무를 통한 정신건강 위험 요인을 파악하는데 그 목적이 있다. 본 연구는 제 6기 국민건강영양조사에서 20-30대 3,712명을 대상으로 일반적 특성, 식습관에 따른 정신건강을 파악하고자 교차분석을 하였고 초기성인층의 정신건강 위험요인을 파악하고자 다중 로지스틱 회귀분석을 실시하였다. 대상자의 개인적 특성들을 보정하였을 때, 남자는 아침식사 동반자가 있는 경우 우울감 여부, 저녁식사 동반자가 있는 경우 자살생각 여부가 낮게 나타났고, 여성은 아침식사 동반자가 있는 경우 스트레스 여부가, 점심식사 동반자가 있는 경우 자살생각 여부가 낮게 나타났다. 따라서 초기성인의 건강한 식습관과 긍정적 정신건강을 위해 함께 식사할 수 있도록 공공장소 및 기관의 공간 개선과 동반식사에 대한 필요성의 홍보가 부각되어야 할 것으로 생각된다. 그러므로 초기성인의 식습관관리 활동에 필요한 다각적인 프로그램을 제시하며 다양한 사람들과 함께하는 식습관 문화 교육을 통해 동반식사 할 수 있도록 노력이 필요할 것이다.

Korean Epithelial Ovarian Cancer Study (Ko-EVE): Protocols and Interim Report

  • Background: There have been few studies of Asian ovarian cancer and benign tumors. The primary aim of this paper was to report the protocol of the Ko-EVE study to examine epidemiological and molecular factors for ovarian cancer and benign neoplasms and to ascertain the major risk factors for ovarian cancer control in Korea. Methods: This case-control study covers incident epithelial ovarian cancers and benign neoplasms, four major centers participating in enrolling incident cases and 3 hospitals enrolling healthy controls among health examinees. Standardized questionnaires were administered by trained interviewers, including sections on socio-demographics characteristics, past medical history, medication usage, family history, lifetime consumption of alcohol and tobacco, diet, physical activity, and reproductive factors for women. Various biological specimens were collected in the biorepository according to the standardized protocol. Annual follow-up for cancer cases and follow-up at the 1st year for benign tumor cases are performing to evaluate treatment effect and progression. Passive follow to see long-term survival will be conducting using record linkage with national data. Results: The total number recruited in 2010-2011 was 246 epithelial ovarian cancer cases, 362 benign epithelial tumors and 345 controls. We are planning to collect subjects for at least 1,500 sets of ovarian cancer, 2,000 benign tumors and 1,500 controls till 2018. Conclusions: The Ko-EVE will provide unique and important data to probe the etiology and natural history of Korean epithelial ovarian cancer. It will be continued by genomic and proteomic epidemiological analyses and future intervention studies for the prevention of ovarian cancer among Koreans.

일부 농촌지역 청소년들의 건강행태 관련요인 분석 (Factors related to the Health Behavior of Rural Adolescents)

  • 본 연구는 농촌지역 청소년들의 건강 행태와 최근 청소년들에게 중요한 문제가 되고있는 성 문제, 약물 남용, 청소년 폭력과 정신 보건 관련 문제를 전반적으로 파악하고 이들간의 관련성을 분석하고자 시도되었다. 본 연구에서 얻은 연구 결과를 요약하면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 조사 대상 학생들의 대부분이 자신의 건강상태를 건강하다고 인지하고 있었으나 건강에 대한 관심도는 70% 정도만이 관심을 가지고 있었다. 둘째, 대상 학생들의 건강행태와 비행행태 조사결과 타지역에 비하여 성경험률, 약물 사용률은 낮았으나 흡연률, 음주율은 오히려 높았으며 수면 시간도 부족한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 건강관련 행태와의 관련 요인을 분석한 결과 인구 사회학적 특성 중에서는 남자인 경우에서, 중학생에서, 용돈이 적은 경우와 성적이 높은 경우에서 건강행태 실천률이 높았고 건강에 대한 관심이 높을수록, 자살시도를 한 경우보다는 자살 시도 경험이 없는 경우에서, 중학생에서, 건강행태가 양호하였다. 이러한 결과를 종합할 때 농촌 지역 청소년들이 다양한 건강관련 문제점에 직면하고 있음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 대상지역 학생들의 다양한 건강관련 문제점을 파악하고 이를 바탕으로 사업의 우선순위를 선정하여 건강행태를 긍정적으로 개선하고 관리 해나자는 한편 건강에 대한 관심을 증대시키려는 노력이 더욱 활성화되어져야 하겠다.
