  • In this paper, we make a design study for a local oscillator system of the 100 ㎓ band cosmic radio receiving system. We use the YIG oscillator with digital driver which is the main oscillator. This oscillator has a good frequency and phase stability at some temperature variation, and the easy computer aided control characteristics. This total system designed to two subsystem, first is the oscillator system include YIG oscillator, tripler, harmonic mixer and triplexer etc., second is the PLL system to supply the precise and stable local oscillator frequency to mixer. The proposed local oscillator system in this paper can be used in a single or multi pixel receiver because this system can be lock the local oscillator frequency automatically using PC.

  • This paper present a distributed RC lines (URCs) oscillator with sinusoidal output. The frequency of oscillator can be controlled and adjustable by varying an one pole amplifier. The circuit incorporated an gain controller loop for amplitude stabilization with low distortion. The realization of simulation and experimental results are in reasonably good agreement with the theoretical , and very low harmonic distortion. In this circuit can be suitable for LSI process fabrication and the circuit application in electronic communications system.

  • Solar activity has an important impact not only on the intensity of cosmic rays but also on the environment of Earth. In the present paper, a coupled oscillator model is proposed to explain solar activity. This model can be used to naturally reduce the 89-year Gleissberg cycle. Furthermore, as an application of the coupled oscillator model, we herein attempt to apply the proposed model to El $Ni{\tilde{n}}o$-southern oscillation (ENSO). As a result, the 22-year oscillation of the Pacific Ocean is naturally explained. Finally, we search for a possible explanation for coupled oscillators in actual solar activity.

  • A new wide-band VCO topology using Miller capacitance is proposed. Contrary to conventional VCO using the Miller capacitance where the variable amplifier gain is negative, the proposed VCO uses both the negative and positive variable amplifier gain to enhance the frequency tuning range significantly. The proposed VCO is simulated using HSPICE. The simulations show that 410MHz and 220MHz frequency tuning range are obtained using the negative .and positive variable amplifier gain, respectively. The tuning range of the proposed VCO is $23\%$ of the center frequency(2.8GHz). The phase noise is -104dBc/Hz at 1MHz offset by simple model. The operating current is only 3.84mA at 2.5V power supply.

  • The various output characteristics of a pulsed Ti:sapphire laser oscillator with a plane-parallel resonator, pumped longitudinally by the second harmonic wave of a Nd:YAG laser, and the output of a Ti:sapphire laser amplifier operated along the single path of the oscillator beam were investigated and analyzed. In the case of the oscillator, we measured the spectrum, the pulse buildup time, the temporal duration time of the pulse, and the output energy according to the variation of the pumping energy, resonator length, and the reflectance of the output coupler. And, in the case of the amplifier, we investigated and analyzed the output energy of the amplifier as a function of the time difference between the two pump beams of the oscillator and the amplifier, the pumping energy of the oscillator, and the pumping energy of the amplifier When pump energies of both the oscillator and the amplifier were 18 mJ/pulse, we could find that the output energy of the amplifier increased linearly and gradually up to the time difference of 35 ns. Finally, we determined that the slope efficiencies of the oscillator and the amplifier were 23.5 % and 11.6 %, respectively.

  • Aperture has been employed on the ground plane in the hairpin resonator. Aperture has been fabricated by etching the part of the ground effected coupling coefficient and then quality factor of hairpin resonator has been increased. When the hairpin oscillator using aperture has been compared with the conventional hairpin oscillator using microstrip, it has been improved the phase noise about 19 ㏈c @100 ㎑. As a result of PBG connecting to the output of the employing aperture hairpin oscillator, the second and third harmonics are suppressed. In this paper, oscillator has been designed and fabricated in operating 5.8 ㎓ band. The output power has been obtained 0,67 ㏈m and the second harmonic has been suppressed about -53,67 ㏈c.

  • This paper proposes a voltage-controlled oscillator (VCO) that has broadband turning and low-level of phase noise characteristics. Due to the micro-strip line resonant circuit with a low Q value, which is applied to the broadband tuning range, the depreciated phase noise performance is compensated by restraining the harmonics of the oscillating frequency. The VCO was designed according to the proposed structure as well as the conventional structure, and the superiority of the proposed structure was verified through its simulation, fabrication, and measurement.

  • Electrical characteristics of two types of 20 GHz Push-Push GaAs MESFET dielectric resonator oscillators having Wilkinson and T-junction power combiners for the output stage have been investigated and compared. So we have explained that the output power and phase noise properties of the Push-push FET DRO are depending on return loss and isolation characteristics of power combiner at the fundamental and the second harmonic frequencies. A Push-push oscillator for suppressing the fundamental frequency of 10 GHz and enhancing the second harmonic of 20 GHz has been designed and fabricated in microstrip configuration on 20 mil thick RT-Duroid($\varepsilon$$_{r}$ = 2.52) Teflon substrate. Return loss and isolation characteristics of T-junction and Wilkinson have been measured at the fundamental frequency of 10.2 GHz and the second harmonic frequency of 20.5 GHz. At the fundamental frequency, -12 dB return loss and -3.7 dB isolation have been measured for the T-junction power combiner, and -14 dB return loss and -11 dB isolation fur the Wilkinson power combiner. At the second harmonic frequency, -10 dB return loss and -7.5 dB isolation have been obtained for the T-junction power combiner, and -23 dB return loss and -22 dB isolation for the Wilkinson power combiner. As a result, we have confirmed that the oscillator based on the Wilkinson power combiner with better retrun loss and isolation characteristics produces more output power and better phase noise characteristics..

  • A novel microstrip type low-pass filter using thin or thick film resistors is proposed to efficiently eliminate harmonic spurious response in stop-band. The proposed low-pass filter shows the spurious suppression enhancement of 20 dB over a conventional one. The designed low-pass filter could be used as a harmonic rejection filter of a local oscillator for Ku-band satellite payload system.

  • Here we report a theoretical description of ferromagnetic vortex dynamics. Based on Thiele's formulation of the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation, the motion of the vortex core could be described by a function of the vortex core position. Under a parabolic potential generated in the circular magnetic patterns, the vortex core showed a circular rotation-namely the gyrotropic motion, which could be described by a 2-dimensional simple harmonic oscillator. The gyrotropic frequency and apparent damping constant were predicted and compared with the values obtained micromagnetic calculation.
