  • Let $\cal{A}$ be a unital Banach algebra. If f : $\cal{A}{\rightarrow}\cal{A}$ is an approximately quadratic derivation in the sense of Hyers-Ulam-J.M. Rassias, then f : $\cal{A}{\rightarrow}\cal{A}$ is anexactly quadratic derivation. On the other hands, let $\cal{A}$ and $\cal{B}$ be Banach algebras.Any approximately generalized homomorphism f : $\cal{A}{\rightarrow}\cal{B}$ corresponding to Cauchy, Jensen functional equation can be estimated by a generalized homomorphism.

  • $\textbullet$ An autonomous mobile robot was controlled through the Internet. $\textbullet$ For the direct control, the feedback data should be provided properly. $\textbullet$ Therefore, an efficient communication scheme should be defined. $\textbullet$ To overcome the transmission delay, the highly abstracted message format was used. $\textbullet$ As the feedback data, the real image sequences may suffer the transmission delay or loss of content. $\textbullet$ To resolve this, the feature information was used to construct the synthetic feedback information. $\textbullet$ By doing this, the operator could feel the hands-on control with an Internet-based robot.

  • Several compounds of 3,9-dialkylxanthines were prepared from 1-methyl-6-chlorouracil via nucleophillic reactions with different aliphatic amines, followed by nitrosation, reduction, formaylation and finally dehydrocyclization. On the other hands, a series of 8-aryl-3,9-dimethylxanthines were synthesized by dehydrocyclization of 5-arylamido-1-methyl-6-methylaminouracils either by fussion or oxidation of 5-arylidine-amino-1-methyl-6-methylaminouracils using sodium periodate. Phosphoryl chloride was found to be uneffective reagent for dehydrocyclization that, gave another products from 1,3-oxazolo[5,4-d] pyrimidines.

  • Objectives: This cross-sectional study aims to investigate the prevalence and factors relating to handwashing with soap among Korean adults. Methods: Study subjects consist of 755 adults who have been contacted in September 2013 via telephone surveys. The data collected has been analyzed using descriptive statistics, a chi-square test and a logistic regression analysis. A primary purpose is to understand the prevalence of handwashing with soap more than 8 times daily and for 30 seconds per wash among adults. Independent variables include socioeconomic levels, the participants' perception and knowledge of handwashing and their educational experiences relating to handwashing. Results: The overall percentile of people who wash their hands with soap 8 time per day for 30 seconds or more per wash was 16.0%, which is 121 people out of 755 study subjects. In univariate analysis, age, education levels, monthly average income, handwashing habits, perceptions relate to the importance of handwashing, self-assessment of handwashing, environment of public toilet, and the completion of handwashing education shows significant result. Significant differences also appear (p<0.05) in logistic regression analysis on binary variables. There is a strong correlation between daily frequency of handwashing and willingness to wash hands while outside. For example, people who wash their hands very often while outside are 2.24 times (95% C.I. 1.29-3.87) more likely to practice handwashing with soap 8 times per day for 30 seconds or more per wash than those people who only intermittently wash their hands while outside. Furthermore, people with general unwillingness to wash their hands while outside are 4.61 times (95% C.I. 1.22-3.28) less likely to practice handwashing with soap 8 times per day for 30 seconds or more per wash than those with general willingness. Conclusions: This study has been carried out to identify the decision factors in practicing handwashing with soap for Korean adults. In univariate analysis, age, education level, monthly average income, handwashing habits, handwashing self-assessment, public toilet environment, completion of handwashing education and so forth have been identified to be the decision factors. This study result shows that the overall level of cleanliness of public toilet perceives to be poor and it suggests that the environment of public toilet needs to be enhanced. As the handwashing habits and handwashing-self assessment have been identified to be the significant decision factors for handwashing, there search and approach in these factors need to be developed further.

  • The purpose of this research is to comprehend experimentally the characteristics of human strength for using as the basic data of impact resistance test method of lightweight wall. Human motions exerting static load are classified to 4 types. Pushes with two hands or shoulder are defined as the instantaneously forcing motions with hands or shoulder put on the force plate. Leanings back or one-hand against the wall are defined as motions of taking a rest in their respective comfortable posture. Human motions exerting dynamic load are classified to 3 types. Selecting 3 levels of motion strength (weak, middle, strong), 3 levels of force plate stiffness (A: 20kN/cm, B: 4.7kN/cm, C: 2.2kN/cm), and 30 male subjects, load was measured when they applied strength to the force plate. Results of this research are as follows: (1) The maximum load ratio (Pmax/W) of static load for each motion was 1.17-1.25 in two hands pushing, 0.95-0.99 in shoulder pushing, 0.16-0.18 in back leaning, and 0.12-0.15 in one hand leaning. (2) Human dynamic load and object collision were different in the load characteristics. (3) The maximum load ratio of dynamic load for each motion was 10.07 in heel kick, 4.46 in shoulder hitting, and 5.58 in fist blow.

  • The purpose of this study is to identify the relationship between sexual attitude and risk behaviors, between risk behavior and sexual experiences in Korean girls high school students. The subjects for this study were 522 girls, who were samples from a target population of 63,375 11th grade students from 200 regular high schools and 70 vocational high schools in Seoul. The data were collected from June 22 to July 18, 2002. A structured questionnaire was used that included measurement of general characteristics, sexual attitudes, risk behaviors and sexual experiences. The data were processed with the SAS program, which uses descriptive statistics, t-test, and ANOVA in its an alyses. The results of this study are as follows : 1. The frequency of sexual experience is as follows ; 'holding hands' had the highest percentage, 57.4 7%, followed in order by 'arms around' 50.19%, 'act of embracing' 50.19%, 'kiss' 37.74%, 'french kiss' 30.84%, 'touch breasts' 8.62%, 'touch sexual organs' 3.26%, 'coitus' 2.30%, 'contraception' 0.77%, 'pregnancy' 0.19%, 'abortion' 0.19%, and 'prostitution' 0.19%. 2. The score of conservatives types was significantly different depending upon exposure to pornographic material and drinking. In comparison, the score of permissiveness types was significantly different depending upon exposure to pornographic material, drinking, and running away from home. But the score of pleasure seeking types was not significantly different than that of the risk behaviors types. 3. There was statistically significant difference in the sexual experience depending upon exposure to pornographic material, drinking, smoking, and running away from home. 4. In the relationship between sexual attitude types and sexual experience, there was a negative correlation between the conservatives types and sexual experiences such as 'holding hands', 'arms around', 'act of embracing', 'kiss', 'french kiss', 'touch breasts', 'touch sexual organs', and 'coitus'. There was a positive correlation between the permissiveness types and sexual experiences such as 'holding hands', 'arms around', 'act of embracing', 'kiss', 'french kiss', 'touch breasts', 'touch sexual organs', and 'coitus'. There was also a positive correlation between the pleasure-seeking types and sexual experiences such as 'touch sexual organ', 'contraceptions', 'pregnancy', and 'prostitution'. Based on the finding of this study, this society should develop a integrated program to prevent risk behaviors and sexual experiences in girls high school students.
