  • This paper focuses on the robust pole assignment for time varying uncertain linear systems in a specified disk. Based on Linear Matrix Inequality(LMI) approach, we give two sufficient conditions, one is for the analysis and another is for the design, that guarantee the robust pole assignment in a specified disk in the left half plane(L.H.P) while satisfying the robust stability. Since these conditions are expressed as LMI forms, we can easily check their feasibility using MATLAB control toolbox. Finally, we show by an example that our results are useful for analysis and design.

  • We can process and compute the position, velocity and time by satellite signals of GPS. The signals are used to compute positioning of three dimensions and timing offset of the receiver clock when we can track the tour satellite signals at least. One of the specified aims is to use less expensive single frequency code/carrier phase GPS receivers, which are typically around half the price of dual frequency receivers. In the study, the author analyzed the accuracy and applicability of frequence linear combination using triangulation points evaluated distance limitation.

  • When a structure is built on the ground under consolidation, the instant corresponding contact pressure which the upper structure exerts on the ground is established. But, as the consolidation of the ground proceeds, the contact pressure is changed because of the flexural rigidity of the upper structure. This varied contact pressure exerts influence on the consolidation behavior of the ground. And, this varied consolidation behavior exerts on the contact pressure in retum. This kind of interaction between the upper struture and the olwer ground under consolidation contimues till all the consolidation process in finished. So this problem cannot be defined as a linear problem. In this paper an approximation method which can analyse this non-linear interaction problem is proposed by the FEM.

  • This paper deals with the design of H$\infty$ control for uncertain linear systems with the regional eigenvalue assignment constraint. The considered region is a disk in the left half plane and the two types of time-varying uncertainties are considered. We presents a state feedback control that minimize the L2 gain from the disturbance to the measured output as well as it guarantees that all eigenvalues of closed loop are inside a disk. The state feedback control is obtained by checking the feasibility of linear matrix inequalities (LMI's) which are numerically tractable. Finally we give an example to show the applicability and usefulness of our results.

  • The purpose of this study is to determine the effective energy of a polyenegetic X-ray beam. The half value layer(HVL) of aluminum for 80 kVp X-ray beam was measured by using optically stimulated luminescent nanoDot dosimeters(OSLnDs). The linear attenuation coefficient(${\mu}$) was calculated using the measured HVL. And the mass attenuation coefficient(${\mu}/{\rho}$) was obtained by dividing the linear attenuation coefficient by the density(${\rho}$) of aluminum. The effective energy($E_{eff}$) of the obtained mass attenuation coefficient was determined using data of the X-ray mass attenuation coefficients for photon energies of aluminum given by National Institute of Standards and Technology(NIST). As a result, the HVL value is 2.262 mmAl. The ${\mu}$ value is $3.06cm^{-1}$. The ${\mu}/{\rho}$ value is $1.114cm^2/g$. And the $E_{eff}$ value was determined at 29.79 keV.

  • In marine controlled-source electromagnetic (CSEM) modeling, it may be difficult to evaluate primary fields accurately using conventional linear filters because they decay very rapidly with distance. However, since there exists a closed-form solution to the Hankel transform in TM mode for a homogeneous half space, we can assess the accuracy of linear filters for evaluating the Hankel transform. As a result, only nine out of 36 source-receiver pairs show that EM fields decrease linearly in semi-log scale with an increase of source-receiver distance, while EM fields are either 0 or not reduced significantly due to an effect of the air layer. There also exist closed-form solutions for the nine pairs, and the others can be evaluated accurately with a relatively short filter. This paper proposes a method which uses closed-form solutions for TM-mode Hankel transforms and a filter with 61 coefficients for TE-mode ones.

  • Purpose: During the treatments of cancer patients with a linear accelerator (LINAC) using photon beams with energies ≥8 MV, the components inside the LINAC head get activated through the interaction of photonuclear reaction (γ, n) and neutron capture (n, γ). We used spectroscopy and measured the dose rate for the LINAC in operation after the treatment ended. Methods: We performed spectroscopy and dose rate measurements for three units of LINACs with a portable high-purity Germanium (HPGe) detector and a survey meter. The spectra were obtained after the beams were turned off. Spectroscopy was conducted for 3,600 seconds, and the dose rate was measured three times. We identified the radionuclides for each LINAC. Results: According to gamma spectroscopy results, most of the nuclides were short-lived radionuclides with half-lives of 100 days, except for 60Co, 65Zn, and 181W nuclides. The dose rate for three LINACs obtained immediately in front of the crosshair was in the range of 0.113 to 0.129 µSv/h. The maximum and minimum dose rates measured on weekends were 0.097 µSv/h and 0.092 µSv/h, respectively. Compared with the differences in weekday data, there was no significant difference between the data measured on Saturday and Sunday. Conclusions: Most of the detected radionuclides had half-lives <100 days, and the dose rate decreased rapidly. For equipment that primarily used energies ≤10 MV, when the equipment was transferred after at least 10 minutes after shutting it down, it is expected that there will be little effect on the workers' exposure.

  • We have designed ramp profile excitation pulse based on the Shinnar-Le Roux (SLR) algorithm. The algorithm provides many advantages to pulse designers. The first advantage is the freedom of deciding the amplitudes, frequencies, and ripple sizes of stopband, passband, and transition band of pulse profile. The second advantage is the freedom of deciding the pulse phase, more specifically, minimum phase, linear phase, maximum phase, and any phase between them. The minimum phase pulse is the best choice in the case of 3D TOF, because it minimizes the echo time, which implies the best image quality in the same MR examination condition. In addition, the half echo technique is slightly modified in our case. In general, using the half echo technique means that the acquired data size is half and the rest part can be filled with complex conjugate of acquired data. But in our case, the echo center is just shifted to left, which implies the reduction of echo time, and the acquired data size is the same as the one without using the half echo technique. In this case, the increase of right part of data leads to improvement of the resolution and the decrease of left part of data leads to decrease of signal to noise ratio. Since in the case of 3D TOF, the signal to noise ratio is sufficiently high and the resolution is more important than signal to noise ratio, the proposed method appears to be significantly affective and gives rise to the improved high resolution angiograms.

  • This paper describes a low-cost single-phase active power filter, which consists of a half-bridge P\A미1 inverter with a s simple control circuit. In order to verify the performance of proposed active power filter, many computer simulations w with EMTP codes and experimental works with a hardware prototype were done. Both results confirm that the p proposed active power filter shows excellent performance to eliminate the harmonics generated in the single-phase non l linear‘ load. The active power filter has advantage of low implementation cost and compact size. using a half-bridge i inverter and a simple control circuit with only one current sensor. So. it can be fabricated as a plug-in type.

  • Acoustic coupling between combustion chamber and gas-liquid scheme injectors are studied numerically in liquid rocket engine adopting linear acoustic analysis. The injectors can play a role as half-wave resonators. The combustion chamber with numerous injectors shows peculiar acoustic coupling with the injectors. As the injector length approaches a half wavelength or the original tuning length, new injector-coupled acoustic modes show up in the chamber and thereby, the acoustic-damping effect of the tuned injectors is appreciably degraded.
