  • If the Wiener-Hopf $C^*$-algebra W(G,M) for a discrete group G with a semigroup M has the uniqueness property, then the structure of it is to some extent independent of the choice of isometries on a Hilbert space. In this paper we show that if the Wiener-Hopf $C^*$-algebra W(G,M) of a partially ordered group G with the positive cone M has the uniqueness property, then (G,M) is weakly unperforated. We also prove that the Wiener-Hopf $C^*$-algebra W($\mathbb{Z}$, M) of subsemigroup generating the integer group $\mathbb{Z}$ is isomorphic to the Toeplitz algebra, but W($\mathbb{Z}$, M) does not have the uniqueness property except the case M = $\mathbb{N}$.

  • We estimate the real rank of CCR C*-algebras under some assumptions. A applications we determine the real rank of the reduced group C*-algebras of non-compac connected, semi-simple and reductive Lie groups and that of the group C*-algebras of connected nilpotent Lie groups.

  • In this paper the left regular representation and the reduced $C^*$-algebra for a commutative separative semigroup is defined. The universal representation, the reduced $C^*$-algebra and the full $C^*$-algebra for the additive semigroup $N^+$ are given. Also it is proved that $C*_r(N^+){\ncong}C^*(N^+)$.

  • We prove the generalized Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of cyclic functional equations in Banach modules over a unital $C^{*}$-algebra. It is applied to show the stability of algebra homomorphisms between Banach algebras associated with cyclic functional equations in Banach algebras.

  • Suppose that D is a $C^*$-discrete quantum group and $D_0$ a discrete quantum group associated with D. If there exists a continuous action of D on an operator algebra L(H) so that L(H) becomes a D-module algebra, and if the inner product on the Hilbert space H is D-invariant, there is a unique $C^*$-representation $\theta$ of D associated with the action. The fixed-point subspace under the action of D is a Von Neumann algebra, and furthermore, it is the commutant of $\theta$(D) in L(H).

  • We show that if the stable rank of $B^{\alpha}$ is one, then the stable rank of B is less than or equal to the order of G for any action of a finite group G. Also we give a short proof to the known fact that if the action of a finite group on a $C^*$-algebra B is saturated then the canonical conditional expectation from B to $B^{\alpha}$ is of index-finite type and the crossed product $C^*$-algebra is isomorphic to the algebra of compact operators on the Hilbert $B^{\alpha}$-module B.

  • In this paper, we prove that every 2-local derivation on several classes of C*-algebras, such as unital properly infinite, type I or residually finite-dimensional C*-algebras, is a derivation. We show that the following statements are equivalent: (1) every 2-local derivation on a C*-algebra is a derivation, (2) every 2-local derivation on a unital primitive antiliminal and no properly infinite C*-algebra is a derivation. We also show that every 2-local derivation on a group C*-algebra C*(𝔽) or a unital simple infinite-dimensional quasidiagonal C*-algebra, which is stable finite antiliminal C*-algebra, is a derivation.

  • This paper is a survey on the Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability of the Jensen functional equation in $C^*$-algebras. The concept of Hyers-Ulam-Rassias stability originated from the Th.M. Rassias' stability theorem that appeared in his paper: On the stability of the linear mapping in Banach spaces, Proc. Amer. Math. Soc. 72 (1978), 297-300. Its content is divided into the following sections: 1. Introduction and preliminaries. 2. Approximate isomorphisms in $C^*$-algebras. 3. Approximate isomorphisms in Lie $C^*$-algebras. 4. Approximate isomorphisms in $JC^*$-algebras. 5. Stability of derivations on a $C^*$-algebra. 6. Stability of derivations on a Lie $C^*$-algebra. 7. Stability of derivations on a $JC^*$-algebra.
