Amid global economic crisis and skyrocketing oil prices, container shipping companies have raised a sustained series of efforts to reduce vessel operating costs. Under these circumstances, the Grand Alliance has decided to install the dedicated feeder instead of additional vessels in the CCX(Central China Express) and the NCE(North China Express) route. In other words, a vessel in a trunk route is transshiped by a dedicated feeder vessel in Busan port that is a transshipment port, rather than calling at Northen China port. In this study, the actual operating data of Grand Alliance container services were analyzed to determine the economic effect of transshipment through a dedicated feeder service. In this way, the Grand Alliance are saving vessel operating expenses in 'NCE' and 'CCX' routes, making the slow steaming of vessels possible in these trunk routes.

In this paper, designed scheme and the performance results of implemented Grand alliance DTV RF up-converter are described. It can generate all channel band (ch.2-ch.60) of Korean broadcasting channel band. The experiment result shows the implemented RF up-converter satisfy the ATSC standards.

This paper describes the hardware architecture and implementation trade-offs of the Grand Alliance HDTV video encoder system. The implemented video encoder accepts video in 1125 line(30Hz) interlaced format, and produces a bit-stream compliant with the motion picture experts group version 2(MPEG-2) standards. The encoder processing includes large- area motion estimation and an advanced rate control mechanism. To keep the system complexity realizable, we adopt a fast hierarchical motion estimation method and developed its hardware architecture. Furthermore an adaptive perceptual quantization method is adopted to improve the perceptual quality. The developed system Is based on the 4-way parallel processing architecture and is implemented by using programmable IC, memory IC, and special-purpose processors such as DCT and motion estimation processors.

Recently, there has been much interest in the terrestrial broadcasting of the HDTV signal. However, in the Simulcast where the NTSC and HDTV signal are transmitted using the same channel, the cochannel interference occurs which degrade the transmission performance. Recently, the GA(Grand Alliance) proposed the cochannel interference rejection system which use comb filter. However, this method shows poor performance for the NTSC carrier variation [7]. In this paper we propose a novel NTSC cochannel interference rejection system which shows improved performance for the NTSC carrier variation. In the proposed scheme, the adaptive notch filter is employed along with adaptive channel equalizer. In this paper, we also present some analytical results on the NTSC rejection performance of the GA and proposed scheme. Computer simulation results reveal that the proposed scheme outperforms order outperforms order of 10 in the BER(bit error rate) sense for the normal condition.

In this paper, we propose a full digital frequency and phase locked loop for CATV and HDTV receivers adopting VSB modulation. The CATV and HDTV receivers proposed by the Grand-Alliance in USA are ultilizing analog signal processing technology for carrier recovery. By the way, it is not a good architecture for the development of single chip ASIC operating in digital domain. To solve this problem while improving the performance, we first down convert the received r.f. signal to a near baseband signal for a low-rate AD converter and then we use digital signal processing techniques. The proposed system has the frequency pull-in range of -200 KHz +2.50 KHz. Moreover, it has the ability of adaptive loop bandwidth control according to the amount of frequency offset to improve the acquisition time while reducing the phase noise.

It is need to reestablish multicultural perspectives when we coming into the multicultural society. The Zhuāngzǐ who lived in the Age of the Warring States 2300 years ago showed the way multicultural society pursues. We reorganized his works into the two categories as follows. First, we need to know multicultural society. The beginning of harmonious multicultural society is to know others. For this we should disregard Ceng-Xin and experience the variety of multicultural societies. Second, it is about the way multicultural society purse. Liang-Xing based on the altruism which includes Xuxin and self determination is important. For this, equality of variety and differences in multi culture should be materialized in a way to help each other. Therefore, we need to respect and impose a positive role of the strength of other culture in order to make active image. In addition, desirable multicultural society will sustain when we realize grand alliance with goodness of respecting others.

국제 표준화 기구(ISO)에서는 약 680 Mbyte의 저장 용량을 갖는 CD에서 1시간 정도의 동영상과 오디오를 압축, 저장할 수 있는 MPEG-1 부호화 방식의 표준안을 1991년에 결정하였다. 이를 기반으로 HDTV와 같은 디지털 방송을 위한 다채널 구조의 MPEG-2 규격을 결정하였다. 그러나 미국의 HDTV 표준안을 결정하는 대연합(Grand Alliance)에서는 영상에서는 MPEG-2를 선정하고 오디오 부호화 방식의 표준안으로는 돌비의 AC-3 방식을 선정하였다. 그러나 국내 및 유럽 등의 미국을 제외한 국가에서는 MPEG 오디오 알고리듬을 그대로 사용할 예정으로 있다. 이에 디지털 방식의 HDTV에 적용된 오디오 압축 방식의 두가지 표준 알고리듬의 돌비의 AC-3와 국제 표준화 기구의 MPEG 알고리듬에 대해 비교해 보고 앞으로의 동향에 대해 설명하였다.

Terminal 2 of Incheon in'tl airport had made a grand opening since January 2018. Terminal 2 is currently operated by mainly Korean airline in cooperation with such skyteam members as Delta airline, Air France and Royal Dutch KLM. It is expected another three skyteam member airlines join the separate operation at terminal 2 since this coming winter. It is believed very meaningful research to analyze how separate operation of Global alliance of airlines affects the global brand image of an organization. To find out such effect, researchers have made an empirical analysis of perception of airline staffs working at terminal 2. This paper has focused on how the staffs perceive airline service quality in the changed working environment and on how significantly their perception on service has an effect on airline's global brand image with such moderating variables as organizational efficacy and organizational trust. According to empirical analysis using structural equation modeling, it was proven the variable of responsiveness among perceived airline service qualities had a direct significant effect on formulating airline's global brand image associated with joint venture between Korean airline and Delta airline. However, the other variables had a indirect significant effect on global brand image with moderating effects.

This paper aims to describe port competition in East Asia and the Korean government's port strategy. In doing so, the paper provides an overview of global changes in international trade, the shipping industry and the port business. It also delineates the status of port competition in the region. Particular examples are taken from the competition among the ports of Hong Kong, Singapore, and Malaysia, as well as those of Pusan and Kwangyang, Kaohsiung, Kobe, and Shanghai and Yantian. The port competition in East Asia is reviewed and classified in two groups: north-tier competition among traditional major players, such as Kobe and Pusan, and dark horses such as Shanghai, Kwangyang and perhaps Yokohama; and south-tier competition among the three traditionally big players Kaohsiung, Hong Kong and Singapore, and the relative newcomers of Yantian in China, and Tanjung Pelepas In Malaysia. Due to the enlarging of ships and expansion of port activities, the boundary between the two tier frontiers breakdown, or they may even merge, into one grand frontier, in the foreseeable future. Although it appears that Asian ports are not being very aggressive in preparing for the future of mega-carrier in their plans, it is true that China, Korea and Taiwan are moving full steam ahead in comprehensively developing their container ports on a large scale. It therefore seems to be the perfect time for rival ports to explore a port alliance strategy to fight against the trend toward alliances between of many shipping lines.
