계육 Surimi에 Trehalose와 Oligosaccharide의 냉동변성 방지효과 (Effects of Trehalose and Oligosaccharide as Cryoprotectant in Chicken Surimi)

  • 계육 surimi에서 trehalose와 oligosaccharide의 단백질 냉동변성 방지효과를 구명하기 위하여 본 실험을 실시하였다. 기계발골노계육에 0.5% 소금물(고기:용액, 1:4)로 2회, 증류수로 1회 수세하여 surimi를 제조하였다. Trehalose와 oligosaccharide를 각각 8%씩 혼합한 후 $-18^{\circ}C$에서 10주간 냉동저장하였다. 모든 Surimi의 적색도(a*)는 냉동기간동안 감소하였다. 냉동기간중에 trehalose, oligosaccharide, 무첨가 순으로 명도가 높고 적색도와 황색도가 낮아 색택 안정성이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 냉동기간중 surimi의 gel 강도(압착력, 경도, 탄성, 점착성)는 감소하였지만, trehalose와 oligosaccharide 첨가가 무침가구에 비해 유의적으로 높은 수준을 유지하였다. 냉동기간중에 부착성은 trehalose 첨가가 가장 높았다. 따라서 이들 당류가 계육 surimi에 단백질 냉동변성방지제로 효과가 인정되었으며, trehalose는 감미도가 기존 설탕보다 낮고 색깔 및 물성에서 oligosaccharide 보다 더 우수한 것으로 판단되었다.

Performance of Magnesia Cement Using MgCO3 and Serpentine

  • The amount of carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) released while producing building materials is substantial and has been targeted as a leading contributor to global climate change. One of the most typical methods of reducing $CO_2$ in building materials is the addition of slag and fly ash, like pozzolan material another method is to reduce $CO_2$ production by developing carbon negative cement. MgO-based cement from the low-temperature calcination of magnesite required less energy and emitted less $CO_2$ than the manufacturing of Portland cements. It is also believed that adding reactive MgO to Portland-pozzolan cements can improve their performance and also increase their capacity to absorb atmospheric $CO_2$. In this study, basic research on magnesia cement using $MgCO_3$ and magnesium silicate ore (serpentine) as the main starting materials, as well as blast furnace slag for the mineral admixture, was carried out for industrial waste material recycling. In order to increase the overall hydration activity, $MgCl_2$ was also added. In the case of the addition of $MgCl_2$as accelerating admixture, there was a promoting effect on the compressive strength. This was found to be due to the production of needle-like dense Mg-Cl hydrates. Mgnesia cement has a high viscosity due to its high specific surface area therefore, when the PC-based dispersing agent was added at a level of more than 1.0%, it had the effect of improving fluidity. In particular, the addition of $MgCl_2$ in magnesia cement using $MgCO_3$and magnesium silicate ore (serpentine) as main starting materials led to a lower expansion ratio and an increase in the freeze-thaw resistance finally, the addition of $MgCl_2$ as accelerating admixture led to good overall durability.

핫 프레스 성형용 EL-Max 소재 초정밀 연삭 가공에 관한 연구 (Study on Ultra-precision Grinding of EL-Max Material for Hot Press Molding)

  • Demand for optical glass device used for lighting could increase rapidly because of LED lighting market growth. The optical glass devices that have been formed by hot press molding process the desired optical performance without being subjected to mechanical processing such as curve generation or grinding. EL-Max material has been used for many engineering applications because of their high wear resistance, high compressive strength, corrosion resistant and very good dimensional stability. EL-Max is very useful for a glass lens mold especially at high temperature and pressure. The performance and reliability of optical components are strongly influenced by the surface damage of EL-Max during grinding process. Therefore, the severe process condition optimization shall be necessary for the highly qualified EL-Max glass lens mold. To get the required qualified surface of EL-Max, the selection of type of the diamond wheel is also important. In this paper, we report best grinding conditions of ultra-precision grinding machining. The grinding machining results of the form accuracy and surface roughness have been analyzed by using Form Talysurf and NanoScan.

습윤양생 장치를 이용한 아파트 측벽 균열제어에 관한 연구 (Study on the Crack Control Effect of Moist Curing Equipment in Side Wall of Building)

  • 최근 국내 아파트의 외벽 거푸집공사의 경우 대부분 갱폼 시스템을 통해 철근콘크리트 구조체를 시공하고 있다. 이러한 갱폼 거푸집을 사용한 콘크리트의 경우는 거푸집 탈형 후 외부환경에 노출되고 특히, 건조한 봄, 가을과 일사량이 높은 서중시기의 벽량이 많은 아파트 측벽에 다량의 균열이 발생되어지고 있다. 이에, 본 연구에서는 신축 아파트 건설현장 중심으로 균열량이 많은 아파트 측벽부분의 갱폼시스템에 습윤양생 자동설비장치를 적용하여 초기 콘크리트 양생에 필요한 수분을 공급함으로써 콘크리트의 품질확보와 다량의 측벽균열 저감을 통한 습윤양생 자동장치의 효율성 및 활용성을 검토하고자 하였는데, 그 결과, 양생 효과 및 낙수량 고려 시 습윤양생 자동장치에 0.3mm 사이즈의 노즐을 사용하여 살수양생을 실시할 경우, 자원낭비 없이 콘크리트의 품질향상 및 균열저감에 효과적인 것으로 판단되었다.

  • Glass-to-metal contact should be prevented in the design of any structural glass component. Because glass is extremely brittle and will fracture readily if even a small point load is applied. If the assembly includes a glass component supported by metallic structure, designers should provide a pliable interface of some kind between the two parts. But there happens high demand of glass-to metal contact in semiconductor industries due to adoption of dry cleaning process as one of the good solution to reduce running cost - carry out equipments cleaning with high corrosive and etching gas such as CF4 with keeping process temperature as the same as high service temperature. Therefore the quartz glass have to be received compression by direct contact with metal as the form of weight itself and vacuum pressure and fatigue by vibrations caused by process during the process. In this paper investigation will be carried out on fracture behavior of quartz glass contacted with metal directly under local load and fatigue given by process vibration with apparatus which can give $lox{\backslash}cal$ load and vibration through PZT ceramics to give guideline to prevent unintended fracture of quartz glass.

Characteristics of Hydraulic Lime using Low-grade Dolomitic Limestone

  • This study aims to produce dolomitic hydraulic lime (D-NHL) using domestic low grade dolomitic limestone and to determine the effect of adding blast furnace slag (BFS) and gypsum as part of an investigation of the hydration properties of D-NHL to increase the mechanical properties. The main mineral phases of D-NHL as a hydraulic lime binder were $Ca(OH)_2$, $Mg(OH)_2$, $C_2S$, $C_3S$, and MgO residues. $Ca(OH)_2$ transformed into $CaCO_3$ in D-NHL paste over the period of 28 days, but the carbonation of $Mg(OH)_2$ and the hydration of $C_2S$ did not occur until hydration, after 28 days. Through an investigation of the hydration properties of D-NHL pastes mixed with BFS and gypsum, Al-based compounds such as calcium aluminate hydrates ($C_4AH_{13}$) and ettringite were observed at early hydration time. The compressive strength was improved due to the increased quantities of these hydration products. These results show that good performance results from the application of dolomitic hydraulic lime and that a high value product can be made from domestic waste materials.

Effect of Autoclave Curing on the Microstructure of Blended Cement Mixture Incorporating Ground Dune Sand and Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag

  • Investigating the microstructure of hardened cement mixtures with the aid of advanced technology will help the concrete industry to develop appropriate binders for durable building materials. In this paper, morphological, mineralogical and thermogravimetric analyses of autoclave-cured mixtures incorporating ground dune sand and ground granulated blast furnace slag as partial cementing materials were investigated. The microstructure analyses of hydrated products were conducted using scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), differential thermal analysis (DTA), thermo-graphic analysis (TGA) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The SEM and EDX results demonstrated the formation of thin plate-like calcium silicate hydrate plates and a compacted microstructure. The DTA and TGA analyses revealed that the calcium hydroxide generated from the hydration binder materials was consumed during the secondary pozzolanic reaction. Residual crystalline silica was observed from the XRD analysis of all of the blended mixtures, indicating the presence of excess silica. A good correlation was observed between the compressive strength of the blended mixtures and the CaO/$SiO_2$ ratio of the binder materials.

  • Concrete filled steel tube (CFT) columns have been widely used in moment resisting frame structures both in seismic zones. This paper discusses the design of such members based on the advanced methods introduced in the 2005 AISC Specification and the 2005 Seismic Provisions. This study focuses particularly on design following both linear and nonlinear methods utilizing equivalent static and dynamic loads for low-rise moment frames. The paper begins with an examination of the significance of pseudo-elastic design interaction equations and the plastic ductility demand ratios due to combined axial compressive force and bending moment in CFT members. Based on advanced computational simulations for a series of five-story composite moment frames, this paper then investigates both building performance and new techniques to evaluate building damage during a strong earthquake. It is shown that 2D equivalent static analyses can provide good design approximations to the force distributions in moment frames subjected to large inelastic lateral loads. Dynamic analyses utilizing strong ground motions generally produce higher strength ratios than those from equivalent static analyses, but on more localized basis. In addition, ductility ratios obtained from the nonlinear dynamic analysis are sufficient to detect which CFT columns undergo significant deformations.

알칼리 활성화 슬래그 모르타르의 특성에 미치는 혼합 활성화제의 영향 (Influence of Blended Activators on the Physical Properties of Alkali-activated Slag Mortar)

  • 본 연구는 알칼리 활성화 슬래그에서 혼합 활성화제에 관한 것이다. 본 연구에서는 수산화나트륨(NaOH, A Case), 수산화칼슘($Ca(OH)_2$, B Case), 수산화마그네슘($Mg(OH)_2$, C Case), 수산화알루미늄($Al(OH)_3$, D Case), 그리고 수산화칼륨(KOH, E Case)의 5가지 수산화계열 활성화제를 사용했다. 이 5가지 수산화계열 활성화제와 탄산나트륨($Na_2CO_3$)를 혼합하였다. 5가지 수산화계열 활성화제의 농도는 3M로 하고, 탄산나트륨은 1M, 2M, 3M로 하였다. 플로우와 응결 특성은 탄산나트륨의 혼합에 따라 감소하는 결과가 나타났다. 그러나 압축응력은 탄산나트륨의 혼합 농도에 따라 증가하는 결과를 나타내었다. 이것은 수산화계열 활성화제와 탄산나트륨의 혼합은 알칼리 활성화 슬래그 모르타르의 특성에 효과적인 것으로 판단된다.

숏크리트 모르타르의 성능에 대한 급결제 종류 및 고로슬래그 미분말 대체율의 영향 (Effect of Types of Accelerators and Replacement Levels of GGBFS on the Performance of Shotcrete Mortars)

  • 본 연구에서는 alkali-free 및 aluminate 급결제를 사용한 OPC 및 GGBFS 숏크리트 모르타르의 응결특성, 강도특성, 전기저항성 및 염소이온 침투저항성을 실험적으로 고찰하였다. 실험결과에 따르면, alkali-free 급결제를 첨가한 GGBFS 모르타르는 응결시간 및 압축강도가 GGBFS 대체율에 관계없이 OPC 모르타르와 유사하게 나타났으나, aluminate 급결제를 첨가한 모르타르의 경우, GGBFS 대체율이 증가할수록 응결시간 및 압축강도가 크게 나타나는 경향을 보였다. 한편, 숏크리트 모르타르의 전기저항성 및 염소이온 침투저항성은 GGBFS를 50% 이상 대체한 모르타르가 우수한 경향을 나타내므로써, 적절한 대체율의 GGBFS를 사용한 모르타르가 숏크리트용 재료로써 우수한 성능을 나타낼 것으로 판단된다.
