  • A simple model for reinforced concrete shear walls with boundary elements is proposed, which is a macro-model composed of spring elements representing flexure and shear behaviors. The flexural behaviour is represented by vertical springs at the wall ends, where the moment strength and rotational capacity of the wall are based on section analysis. The shear behaviour is represented by a horizontal spring at the wall center, where the key parameters for the shear behavior are based on the flexural behaviour since the shear walls with boundary elements are governed by the flexure. The proposed model was prepared with the results of hysteretic tests of the shear walls, and then the reliability of the hysteretic rule and variables was investigated by nonlinear dynamic analyses. Using parametric study with nonlinear dynamic analyses, the effect of the variables on demand and capacity, which are major parameters in seismic performance evaluation, are investigated. Results show that the measured and calculated shear forces versus the shear distortion relationships are slightly different, but the global response is well simulated. Furthermore, the demand and capacity are also changed in a similar way to the change in the major parameters so that the proposed model may be appropriate for reinforced concrete shear walls with boundary elements.

  • Residual materials such as veterinary drugs, environmental contaminants, and pesticides are affecting food safety. High resolution techniques and quality controls are needed to analyze these materials from part per million to part per trillion quantities in food. In order to achieve quality results, standardized methods and techniques are required. Our laboratories were prepared to obtain a certificate of accreditation for ISO/IEC 17025 in the analytical criteria of animal drugs, dioxins, pesticides, and heavy metals. ISO together with IEC has built a strategic partnership with the World Trade Organization with the common goal of promoting a free and fair global trading system. ISO collaborates with the United Nations Organization and its specialized agencies and commissions, particularly those involved in the harmonization of regulations and public policies including the World Health Organization and CODEX Alimentarius for food safety measurement, management and traceability. Our goal was to have high quality analysts, proper analytical methods, good laboratory facilities, and safety systems within guidelines of ISO/IEC 17025. All staff members took requirement exams. We applied proficiency tests in the analysis of veterinary drugs (nitrofuran metabolites, sulfonamide and tetracyclines), dioxins, organophosphorus pesticides, and heavy metals (Cd, Pb, As) to the Food Analysis Performance Assessment Scheme (FAPAS) at Central Science Laboratory, Department for Environment Food and Rural Affairs (DEFRA), England. The results were very satisfactory. All documents were prepared, including system management, laboratory management, standard operational procedures for testing, reporting, and more. The criteria encompassed the requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:1999. Finally, the Korea Laboratory Accreditation Scheme (KOLAS) accredited our testing laboratories in accordance with the provisions of Article 23 of the National Standards Act. The accreditation will give us the benefit of becoming a regional reference laboratory in Asia.

  • The development of new technology and process in industrial Plant which builds integrated structures, facilities and systems. Has become a key element for strengthening its competitiveness. Although domestic industrial Plant has demonstrated excellence in technology with a persistent increase in order quantity and orders received, the technology gap between countries has narrowed due to global construction trend. Therefore, it is necessary to develop new technology that could help overcome constraints and limitations of the current one to follow the trend in the age of unlimited competition. This study has focused on assembly technology of Pipe-rack joint connection in an effort to strengthen technological competitiveness in industrial Plant. Through an analysis of earlier studies on Pipe-rack and a coMParative analysis of strengths and weaknesses of current assembly technology of it, a new design plan has been made to improve it efficiently. In doing this, standards for design factors of both structural and performance features have been drawn, and value of stress, strain, moment and rotation has been calculated using finite element analysis. As a result, installation technology of modular type Pipe-rack, which has not been developed in Korea and is differentiated from the current one, has been developed. It is considered that the technology reduces work time and saves cost due to simplified joint connection of steel structure, unlike the current one. Moreover, since it is installed without a welding process in the field, industrial accidents would be reduced, which is likely to have economic competitiveness and satisfy.

  • To enhance the competitiveness of the Busan Port in accordance with changes in global shipping and port industry trends, the Busan New Port is promoting step-by-step integration and developing a port resource-sharing platform. However, inefficient resource-sharing can cause unnecessary additional costs or impede port productivity, so accurate supply and demand matching of shared resources is required. In this study, the supply and demand of port resources were investigated for employees of Busan New Port and North Port, and port resources that could be ideally shared through IPA(Importance Performance Analysis) were analyzed. As a result of analyzing the equipment in the port, Yard Tractor, Reach Stacker, and Top Handler were the top considerations, and for facilities in the port, berths and aprons, empty container yards, and refrigerated container yards were the most important considerations. As for the data in the port, gate status, equipment specifications, and berth and apron conditions were the top considerations.

  • In this paper, we propose a packet processing method capable of handling large-capacity traffic over 20Gbps using multi-core and huge page memory approaches. As ICT technology advances, the global average monthly traffic is expected to reach 396 exabytes by 2022. With the increase in network traffic, cyber threats are also increasing, increasing the importance of traffic analysis. Traffic analyzed as an existing high-cost foreign product simply stores statistical data and visually shows it. Network administrators introduce and analyze many traffic analysis systems to analyze traffic in various sections, but they cannot check the aggregated traffic of the entire network. In addition, since most of the existing equipment is of the 10Gbps class, it cannot handle the increasing traffic every year at a fast speed. In this paper, as a method of processing large-capacity traffic over 20Gbps, the process of processing raw packets without copying from single-core and basic SMA memory approaches to high-performance packet reception, packet detection, and statistics using multi-core and NUMA memory approaches suggest When using the proposed method, it was confirmed that more than 50% of the traffic was processed compared to the existing equipment.

  • As interest in ESG has been increased, it is easy to find papers that empirically study that a company's ESG activities have a positive impact on the company's performance. However, research on what ESG activities companies should actually engage in is relatively lacking. Accordingly, this study systematically classifies ESG activities of companies and seeks to provide insight to companies seeking to plan new ESG activities. This study analyzes how Chinese manufacturing companies perform ESG activities based on their dynamic capabilities in the global economy and how they differ in their activities. This study used the ESG annual reports of 151 Chinese manufacturing listed companies on the Shanghai & Shenzhen Stock Exchange and ESG indicators of China Securities Index Company (CSI) as data. This study focused on the following three research questions. The first is to determine whether there are any differences in ESG activities between companies with high ESG scores (TOP-25) and companies with low ESG scores (BOT-25), and the second is to determine whether there are any changes in ESG activities over a 10-year period (2010-2019), focusing only on companies with high ESG scores. The results showed that there was a significant difference in ESG activities between high and low ESG scorers, while tracking the year-to-year change in activities of the top-25 companies did not show any difference in ESG activities. In the third study, social network analysis was conducted on the keywords of E/S/G. Through the co-concurrence matrix technique, we visualized the ESG activities of companies in a four-quadrant graph and set the direction for ESG activities based on this.

  • Because it is difficult to respond to a constantly changing environment with individual ability and creativity alone, many organizations are forming teams and seeking ways to make the teams more active. Team learning behavior allows team members to and create better performance based on such accumulated knowledge and experience within a team. In particular, the process of team learning not only explicit and formalized knowledge but also implicit and informal experiences is important from the perspective of knowledge management. However, there were limitations in utilizing research results on team learning behavior because the concepts were fragmented and the measurements were different for each researcher. In this study, an integrated model was presented by examining concepts related to team learning behaviors. Moreover, the measurement model of team learning behaviors was validated for the Korean context. The measurement model consisted of five factors: sharing and elaboration, constructive conflict, team reflection, team activity, and storage and utilization. This tool was confirmed through exploratory factor analysis and confirmatory factor analysis. The results of this study are expected to have implications for team researchers and practitioners who diagnose and improve the level of team learning behavior within an organization.

  • The service industry, as a new growth engine, has become more important in response to changes in the global economy and the industrial environment. Developed countries have promoted the competitiveness of the service industry and have enhanced economic added value. Developing new services requires extensive resources. Therefore, cooperation and network building capabilities with customers, suppliers, and various knowledge creation agencies are critical sources of competitiveness. This study classified the Korean service industry by industrial type in order to enhance innovation competence. The Korean service industry lags behind that of developed countries, and this study analyzed the differences of innovation results according to collaboration partners by the classified industry. By adopting a method that applies industrial classification by Dialogic's innovation pattern, this study showed external cooperation results were different by industrial type. Analysis results revealed that companies cooperate with customers and competitors in many cases; however, product innovation was higher for companies that collaborated with private service companies. In the 'Innovation in services' industry, industry cooperation with universities showed organizational innovation achievements. In the 'Innovation through services' industry, cooperation with customers positively affected marketing innovation achievements. Consequently, the need to foster consulting firms and universities that can professionally collaborate with companies is implied in order to enhance the Korean service industry.

  • RFID technology, as one contact-less identification technology with using electronic tag, is the field where its multiple researches have been studied. Especially, in the field of supply chain management, when it is necessary to identify a lot of objects by real-time, performance of anti-collision algorithm for multiple tag identification has an effect on performance of entire system. GEN2 is global, open, interoperability protocol for UHF RFID system, the active researches and developments are processed about it. In this paper, we introduce an anti-collision algorithm based on Slotted-ALOHA for GEN2 protocol, focus on estimating number of tags and setting number of slots and review the previous works. We propose new scheme that can estimate number of tags efficiently, and define system efficiency newly when it's used in setting number of slots. We also present result of compare and analysis with previous scheme through simulation. The proposed scheme of estimating number of tags is easy to implement, number of tags which is less than 4 times of number of slots can estimate tags efficiently, we also proved that identification efficiency based on weighted-slot distinguished with definition of previous slot efficiency can improve system efficiency.

  • The precipitable water vapor (PW) was estimated using Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) from several GNSS stations within the Korean Peninsula. Nearby radiosonde sites covering the GNSS stations were used for the comparison and validation of test results. GNSS data recorded under typical and severe weather conditions were used to generalize our approach. Based on the analysis, we have confirmed that the derived PW values from the GNSS observables were well agreed on the estimates from the radiosonde observables within 10 mm level. Assuming that the GNSS observables could be a good weather monitoring tool, we further tested the performance of the current WAAS tropospheric delay model, UNB3, in the Korean Peninsula. Especially, the wet zenith delays estimated from the GNSS observables and from UNB3 delay model were compared. Test results showed that the modelled approach for the troposphere (i.e., UNB3) did not perform well especially under the wet weather conditions in the Korean Peninsula. It was suggested that a new model or a near real-time model (e.g., based on regional model from GNSS or numerical weather model) would be highly desirable for the Korean WA-DGNSS to minimize the effects of the tropospheric delay and hence to achieve high precision vertical navigation solutions.
