Reframing The Global Leadership Competencies Models (글로벌 리더십 역량 모형의 재구성)

  • This study aims to answer the research question of what are the global leadership competencies(GLC) and what is the integrating framework of GLC? To attain the goal of reframing the GLC models with systematic research on GLC, the specific objectives are delineated as follows; the first objective is to identify the area of GLC. The second one is to extract the dimensions agreed with consensus. The third one is to suggest the reframed GLC model. Through the literature review and content analysis about GLC and global mindset, the two dimensions-subject and objects-of GLC model are emerged to classify the existing clusters of GLC. The extracted objects are self, others, culture, business, and global world. The dimension of subject who is global leader is more specifically divided into the knowing/doing process and three aspects of human activity like cognitive, emotional, and behavioral one. GLC are reframed and rearranged based on the two dimensions. As a results new framework for GLC with 11 clusters are presented. Knowing group of GLC contains personal, social, cultural, business literacy, and global mindset. Doing group of GLC contains personal, social, cultural, business savvy, and global change. Personal traits as a core character are at the core of the knowing and doing process of the self. Lastly, the implications and limitations of this research are suggested, and suggestion for further research is followed.

The Influence of University Student's Self-Leadership on the Employment Strategies (대학생의 셀프리더십이 취업전략에 미치는 영향)

  • Many students who attend university are worried about their future employment and academic achievement. Self-leadership is the ability to deal wisely with employment matters and to recognize the employment strategies of students who display self-leadership qualities. For this purpose, 320 questionnaires were distributed to students attending universities in Seoul. The 304 collected questionnaires were used as data for the final analysis. First, the university students' average self-leadership rate was 3.73, and their average employment rate was 3.24. In terms of self-leadership by subordinate domains, the most common strategy was to introduce "natural compensation activities", and the least common strategy was to focus on "inner compensation". For the employment strategy, "academic credit" was the best managed, and "active behavior" was the least well managed. Second, in terms of the differences in self-leadership due to social demographic variables, the self-leadership levels showed significant differences, according to their credits in general. Furthermore, they showed significant differences depending on gender and the leadership experience among the subordinate variables. Moreover, the university students' employment strategies showed significant differences according to gender, leadership experience and leadership education. Third, in terms of the difference between self-leadership and employment strategies due to psychological variables, self-efficacy and university-life satisfaction levels made significant differences in terms of self-leadership. Fourth, the group with high self-leadership levels also had highly developed employment strategies, compared to the group with low self-leadership levels. Fifth, after analyzing the social demographic variables, the psychological variables and the influence of self-leadership, it appears that the explanation level increased at each step. This study demonstrates that experiencing many opportunities that promote self-leadership during university causes students to worry about their future careers and prohibits them from developing into independent, responsible adults who can accomplish their goals.

The Level of Transformational Leadership in Family and the Job Satisfaction: - Focusing on the Workers in Seoul - (가정 내 변혁적 리더십 수준과 직업만족도 - 서울시 직장기혼남녀를 대상으로 -)

  • The main purpose of the current research was to induce the importance of manners through the relationship between the level of transformational leadership in the family and the degree of job satisfaction in workers. It also examined positive variants that can enhance the degree of job satisfaction. The data from 250 questionnaires were used for the final analysis. The main results of the present study are as follows: First, the level of transformational leadership in the family tended to be relatively low, although it was good at the intellectual stimulus leadership among the sub-dimension of the "Family Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire." Moreover, communication, status, and education level turned out to be most influential background variables. Secondly, the score for job satisfaction that is recognized by the workers appeared to be less than average. It seemed that relative comparison in the level of life, communication and education level were the most influential variables. Indeed, the result of stepwise regression analysis showed that transformational leadership made a comparatively high contribution to job satisfaction. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that a worker's leadership development is a main source of maintaining job satisfaction.

  • The main purpose of the current research was to examine the married women's "Family Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire I" which is a new strategy for developing the strength of family. The survey was conducted with three hundred married women who have a child or children attending elementary school, based upon relationship. The main results of the present study are as following. First, the level of the married women's "Family Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire I" tended to be relatively high and they were good at charismatic leadership among sub-dimension of "Family Multifactor Leadership Questionnaire I". Moreover, internal and external controllability and social support turned out to be most influential background variables. Second, the score for the strengths of family that is recognized by the married women appeared to be more than average. It seemed that internal and external controllability, social support, and monthly gross family income were the most influential variables. Indeed, the result of stepwise regression analysis showed that transformational leadership made a comparatively high contribution to the married women's strength of family. Therefore, it is important to keep in mind that married women's leadership development is a main source of maintaining healthy family.

  • This main goal of this program is to prove the effectiveness of family leadership program that was developed on the theoretical basis of strengths of family life. The family leadership program comprised four steps through the FGI and qualitative interview with experts. The steps 1 and 2 were planned to help the middle-aged married women to cultivate the individual leadership by establishing visions and understanding the role. The steps 3 and 4 were set to build up the relational leadership through the communication competency and synergy creation between family. This program was applied to 15 respondents by the multidimensional promotion strategies. As a result, it was recognized that the middle-aged married women had developed the leadership that created the synergy effects by setting family visions, role and improvement of communication strategies. Overall, this study positively achieved the objective to improve the individual and relational leadership of family CEO.

  • Mid-sized manufacturing companies, which account for 0.7%(5,480 companies), 13.8%(1.169 million persons) of total employment, and 15.7% of total sales, have recently experienced a lot of difficulties in management activities due to the impact of COVID-19, the U.S.-China trade war, and the collapse of global supply chains. To overcome this, revitalization of quality management activities to strengthen corporate competitiveness is emerging as an urgent task. In order for these quality management activities to achieve their intended purpose, the positive leadership of corporate managers is very important above all else. There have been many studies related to positive leadership, but most have focused on charismatic leadership and transformational leadership centered on large companies or small and medium-sized enterprises. Therefore, this study aims to present ways to strengthen the leadership of managers by empirically analyzing how the positive leadership of managers of mid-sized manufacturing companies, which was relatively under-researched, affects quality management activities and Business performance(Balanced Score Card; BSC).

Employee Expectation to Demonstrate Innovative Work Behaviour in Asia

  • The competitive nature of enterprises requires organizations to foster an environment that encourages employee innovation that leads to profitability and customer satisfaction. Organizational innovation is influenced by several factors with employee behaviour being one of the important factors. Employees contribute in the innovation process and thus, it is important for organizations to understand employee expectations to demonstrate innovative work behaviour in order to create and maintain an innovative work culture. In the present study, a conceptual model based on culture, reward and program, training, compensations, leadership and systems was tested to assess that impact on employee expectations leading to innovative work behaviour. The study was conducted in the context of city-state of Singapore due to its significant emphasis on promoting and nurturing employee innovation. The model was tested using empirical data collected through a survey of employees in Singapore. The results indicate that while culture, rewards and training programs have a direct relationship on employee expectations to demonstrate innovative work behaviour, when considered together, leadership and systems are significantly and positively associated with employee expectations. These factors are usually under the control of organizations and can be enhanced through systematic interventions, thereby providing practice managers an avenue to improve employee innovation behaviour. The other implications of the findings and future scope are discussed.

The Influence of Adolescent Self-Leadership and Manners on the Adjustment to School Life (청소년의 셀프리더십이 예절수행 및 학교생활적응력에 미치는 영향)

  • This research examines the importance of self-leadership and manners in enhancing the adjustment to school life in adolescents. The findings are used as part of a practical strategy to develop strong high school cultures. The data were obtained by administering a self-reported questionnaire to high students adolescents residing in Seoul and Gyeonggi. A total of 316 questionnaires were used as the final data for this study. Statistical analyses were carried out using SPSS/PC. The main results of the study are as follows: First, the adolescent's self-leadership greatly influenced the student's manners. Second, the relationship between self-leadership, manners and the adjustment to school life showed a significantly positive correlation. Third, a stepwise regression analysis showed that self-leadership competency and implementation of manners made a comparatively high contribution to the adolescents' adjustment to school life. Therefore, the degree of the student's self-leadership and use of manners in order to maintain harmonious relationships with others leads to a healthy and happy scholastic life for the student.

For the high-tech war military need the transition about science and technology from the whole society. In the context of above the development of military leadership are suggested as follows. First, the development of military control leadership must besought to the context of cooperation between government and military. Government must provide the system to strengthen military professionals in the process of policy-making about national security Second, military leadership must embody the important social values through the advanced military making, Third, military leadership must provide the adaptability to the society through the military education of their soldiers Forth, military leadership must be contributed to the social integration and to the growing up individual soldiers like their socialization and their achievement. Five, an important subject of military leadership is the creation of desirable military culture through the harmony of social culture and military culture.

Role of Fashion Leadership Influencing the Effect of the Environmental Benefits of Second-hand Clothing on Continuance Usage Intention

  • Growth in the second-hand clothing (SHC) market has become noteworthy, especially for millennial consumers in Korea. This study identifies the moderating role of fashion leadership influencing the relationship between the perceived environmental benefits of SHC and continuance usage intention for millennial consumers. The hypotheses were statistically tested using online survey data, and the respondents were Korean female millennials aged between 25 and 39 years who had online shopping experiences of SHC within 3 months. Furthermore, 263 responses were analyzed by confirmatory factor, hierarchical regression, and conditional process analyses using SPSS, AMOS, and PROCESS v3.3. Results validated that the perceived environmental benefits of SHC and fashion leadership have positive effects on continuance usage intention of purchased second-hand items. Fashion leadership also moderates the relationship between the environmental benefits of SHC and continuance usage intention, showing that as the level of fashion leadership increases, the environmental benefits have more positive effects on continuance usage intention. Theoretical and practical implications were also discussed. This study will help bridge theoretical and practical gaps between purchasing and using SHC by focusing on the interaction effect of fashion leadership and its perceived environmental benefits.
