SnO2-(1-x)P2O5-xB2O3 유리의 열적, 구조적 특성 (Structure and Thermal Properties of SnO2-(1-x)P2O5-xB2O3 Glasses)

  • $SnO_2-(1-x)P_2O_5-xB_2O_3$ glass system were prepared by melt-quenching technique in the compositional series containing 50, 55 and 60 mol% of $SnO_2$. Local structure of the glasses was investigated by Raman and FT-IR measurements. A large glass-forming region was found at the phosphate side of the ternary system with homogeneous glasses containing up to 5~25 mol% of $B_2O_3$. According as content of $B_2O_3$ increases, theraml expansion coefficient of glass decreased but transition temperature and softening temperature increased. Because these phenomenon changed local structure of glass. According as content of $B_2O_3$ increases, quantity of bridging oxygen increased. Also, according as content of $SnO_2$ increases, confirmed that quantity of non-bridging oxygen increases.

Wall charge effects on structural properties of a coarse-grained FENE polyelectrolyte confined in slit nanochannels by Brownian dynamics simulation

  • A polyelectrolyte chain confined in a slit nanochannel exhibits a structural transition from the one in free space. In this paper, the effect of the long-range electrostatic interactions between the xanthan polyelectrolyte and the slit wall on the confined xanthan conformation is investigated via the Brownian dynamics simulation. A neutral and two negatively charged surfaces of polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and glass are combined to make four kinds of slit channels with different charge characteristics: i) neutral-neutral, ii) glass-glass, iii) neutral-PDMS and iv) neutral-glass walls. Their walls are characterized by uniform surface charge densities determined from experimental data of zeta potential. Both the nonmonotonic chain size variation and the loss of long-range bond vector correlation, previously observed under confinement in the PDMS-PDMS slit, are also found in the neutral slit, demonstrating the nonelectrostatic origin of such crossover behaviors. As expected, the effect of wall charges is negligible at sufficiently high medium ionic strength of 100mM but it becomes significant in the opposite limit of 0.01mM. In the latter case, the high charge density of glass walls strengthens the effective confinement of a negatively charged polyelectrolyte and produces a xanthan structure comparable to that confined in a much narrower neutral slit. The obtained structural data suggest the possibility of controlling the structure of confined polyelectrolytes by the modification of surface charge characteristics of micro/nanofluidic devices in combination with the adjustment of the medium ionic strength.

Solid-state NMR Studies of Membrane Proteins Using Phospholipid Bicelles

  • Membrane proteins in highly oriented lipid bilayer samples are useful for membrane protein structure determination. We used in the past planar lipid bilayers which were aligned and supported on the glass slide. These samples were mechanically aligned in a magnetic field. However, these stacks of glass slides with planar lipid bilayers are not well suited for use with a commercial solid-state NMR probe with a round coil. Therefore, a homebuilt solid-state NMR probe was built and used with a stack of thin glass plates wherein the RF coil was wrapped directly around the flat square sample. Recently, we began to use magnetically aligned bicelles that are suitable for the structure determination of membrane proteins by solid-state NMR spectroscopy without any effort to build a flat square coil probe. These bicelle samples are well suited for use with a commercial solidstate NMR probe with a round coil, are very easy to prepare and are very stable, so that they can be kept for more than a year. In this paper, we present the solid-state NMR spectra of optimized and magnetically oriented bicelle samples of membrane proteins.

저하중용 자기진단 GFRP의 제조와 특성 (Fabrication and Properties of Self-diagnosis GFRP for Low Loading)

  • A CP-GFRP(Carbon Powder-Glass Fiber Reinforced Plastic) sensor was fabricated for fracture detection. The electric resistance of the sensor was measured on condition of various composition of carbon powders and thickness of bundle of glass fibers. The resistance of the sensor was decreased as the increase of the content of carbon powders and the TEX of the glass fibers. In the case of loading on CP-GFRP, because inner crack was propagated, the part of percolation structures was disconnected. These observations show the following results. The conduction of CP-GFRP sensor is due to percolation structure of carbon powders and increase of resistance is due to expansion of cracks.

유리 기판 위에서의 PZT 캐패시터에 관한 연구 (A study on PZT capacitor on the glass substrate)

  • The post-annealing treatments on rf magnetron sputtered PZT($Pb_{1.05}(Zr_{0.52},\;Ti_{0.48})O_3$) thin films($4000{\AA}$) have been investigated for a structure of PZT/Pt/Ti/Coming glass(1737). Crystallization properties of PZT films were strongly dependent on RTA(Rapid Thermal Annealing) annealing temperature and time. We were able to obtain a perovskite structure of PZT at $650^{\circ}C$ and 10min. P-E curves of Pd/PZT/Pt capacitor demonstrate typical hysteresis loops. The measured values of $P_r$, $E_c$ were $8.1[{\mu}C/cm^2]$, 95[kV/cm] respectively. Polarization value decrease about 25% after $10^9$ cycles.

  • If a research trend present in and outside the country is often seen, the structure measurement method of having used PZT and the optical fiber (FBG) will be the actual condition which has accomplished the stock. In order to manage such cracks, time, efforts and expense are required. Such a method has many difficulties in application of a structure by the difficult problem of the measurement range, and the expensive sensor price. Progressive cracks were generated by fracture of glass pipe sensor. Moreover, the experiment which can detect damage propriety by external Light Emitting Diode by damaging a glass pipe by load change with the application of switch using strain gage of a glass pipe was conducted.

  • We have developed a LCD Panel that form storage capacitance for pixels between pixel electrode of bottom glass and common electrode of top glass. This method could make higher transmission and higher production yield than before by removing storage electrode line and capacitance on the bottom glass by simplifying bottom pixel structure.

  • We present a method of fabricating poly (lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA) porous microfibers using a pore template. PLGA microfibers were synthesized using a glass capillary tube in a poly-(dimethylsiloxane) (PDMS) microfluidic chip. Gelatin solution was used as a porous template to prepare pores in microfibers. Two phases of PLGA solutions in different solvents-DMSO (dimethyl sulfoxide) and DCM (dichloromethane)-were used to control the porosity and strength of the porous microfibers. The porosity of the PLGA microfibers differed depending on the ratio of flow rates in the two phases. The porous structure was formed in a spiral shape on the microfiber. The porous structure of the microfiber is expected to improve transfer of oxygen and nutrients, which is important for cell viability in tissue engineering.

  • This paper describes optimizing fabrication methods for 2-axis electrically levitated MEMS gyroscope. Electrostatically levitated gyroscope has very high potential of performance due to the fact that its proof mass is not mechanically bound to any other structures, but its complex structure and difficulty of fabrication holds back the research that only a few researches have been reported. In this work, fabrication method for glass-silicon-glass 3-floor structure for 2-axis electrically levitated MEMS gyroscope is presented, including simplified multi-level glass etch method utilizing photoresist attack, preventing metal diffusion by adding middle layer of metal electrode, overcoming Deep RIE limitation by separate fabrication of silicon structures and keeping the electrode safe from dicing debris.

  • This paper studies on the design and fabrication of a micro in-plane positioning actuator integrated with a microlens. Proposed in-plane actuator is a micro XY-stage which is composed of two linear comb drive actuators being orthogonal to each other. In the fabrication of actuator, the single crystalline silicon substrate anodically bonded with a #7740 glass substrate is used because of simple release and passivation. The structure of actuator is formed on the silicon facet of bonded fixture by chlorine-based deep RIE and then released by isotropic wet etching of glass (#7740) in hydrofluoric acid solution. Fabricated actuator has a large travel range up to $30({\pm}15){\mu}m$ and high resolution less than 0.01f1l1l in each direction. Experimented resonant frequency of this actuator is 630Hz. The micro-Fresnel lens is fabricated on the square-shape glass structure prepared in the center of actuator.
