150 RT급 흡수식 열펌프용 고온재생기의 열전달 특성 (The heat transfer characteristics of a desorber for 150 RT absorption heat pump)

  • Experiments were carried out to study the heat transfer characteristics of a disrober for 150 RT LiBr-water absorption heat pump. An experimental apparatus was divided into four sections, a combustion chamber area, two bare-tube areas, and finally a finned-tube area to quantify the heat transfer rate of each section by measuring the generation rate of vapor. Dividing plates was installed at the upper inside part of deserter to prohibit the moving of vapor generated at heating tubes of a section to another section near. In the first bare-tube area, the generation rate of vapor was the largest among the four sections. The finned-tube area only contributed to give sensible heat increase of solution to the saturation temperature. The heat transfer area of the finned-tube area was 52.2%, which absorbed only 9.2% of the total heat from the combustion gas. On the contrary, the heat transfer area of the first bare-tube area was 16.6%, but it absorbed 52.4% of the total absorbed heat. The temperature of the solution at upper part at the finned-tube area was lower than that of the lower part, because weak solution came in upper part of the finned-tube area. But, this tendency was changed at the first and second bare-tube area due to the vigorous heat transfer and fluid flow enhanced by vapor generation through heating tubes. The overall heat transfer coefficient and heat flux were the largest at the first bare-tube area among the other sections.

CA저장 기체조성에 따른 사과 Fuji의 증산속도 (Effects of Storage Gas Concentrations on the Transpiration Rate of Fuji Apple during CA Storage)

  • CA저장 중 저장기체 조성에 따른 사과 Fuji의 증산속도를 측정하고, 같은 조건에서 증산속도를 예측하기 위한 수학적 모델을 설정하여 증산속도를 예측하였다. 온도 $0^{\circ}C$, 상대습도 98%, 공기 유속 0.25m/s의 저장조건에서 6주 동안 CA저장하였을 때 사과 Fuji의 호흡속도는 일반저온저장에 비하여 50%이하로 낮출 수 있었다. 같은 저장조건에서 일반저온저장에서의 사과의 증산속도가 CA저장에 비하여 50~70 % 높았으며, 일정한 산소농도의 CA저장에서는 저장기체 중 이산화탄소농도가 높을수록 증산속도는 감소하는 것으로 나타났다. 본 연구에서 채택한 모델로 예측한 증산속도는 실측치와 유사한 값을 나타내어 본 연구에서 채택한 모델로 CA 저장 중 저장기체 조성에 따른 사과 Fuji의 증산속도를 잘 예측할 수 있었다. 사과의 증산속도는 호흡열량에 비례하여 증가하는 경향을 나타내었으나 증산속도의 증가폭은 호흡열량의 증가폭에 미치지 못하였다. 이는 호흡열량이 증가하면 사과의 증발표면의 온도가 높아져서 증산속도가 커질 수 있게 되지만, 증산속도의 증가에 따른 증발잠열의 증가가 증발표면의 온도를 미세하게 낮추어 주므로 일어나는 현상으로 볼 수 있다.

응축 증발법을 통한 서브마이크론 입자의 단극하전 특성 (Characteristics of Unipolar Charging of the Submicron Particles by the Condensation-Evaporation Method)

  • We applied a new charging system using the condensation and evaporation method to charge the submicron particles with a uniform charging performance. The monodispersed NaCl submicron particles were condensed by n-butanol vapor and grew up to micron droplets with a same size, regardless of their initial size. Those condensed droplets were charged in an indirect corona charger. The indirect corona charger consisted of the ion generation zone and the particle charging zone. In the ion generation zone, Ions were generated by corona discharge and some of them moved into the particle charging zone by a carrier gas and mixed with the condensed droplet. And finally, the charged and condensed droplets dried through an evaporator to shrink to their original size. The average charge and penetration rate of the particles before and after evaporation were measured by CPC and aerosol electrometer and compared with those of a conventional corona charger. The results showed that the average charge was $5\~7$ charges and the penetration rate was over $90\%$, regardless of the initial particle size.

  • In display and semi-conductor manufacturing process, there are numerous unstable factors such as particle concentration, minimal vibration, changes in magnetic field, or electrostatic that becomes an issue to be managed and controlled. In the recent, X-ray ionization is widely used that is neutralized by separating air or gas molecules in the area where the static must be resolved. The mono-type of X-ray ionizer was not capable to be used in $8^{th}$ generation panels manufacturing plant due to its insufficient ionizing coverage since the panel itself is approximately in $2m{\times}3m$. To resolve the current problem, the development of new type called, "Multi-type X-ray ionizer" has resulted in covering enough ionizing space in $8^{th}$ generation panels industry. Comparing mono and multi types with MCNPX code simulation, the multi one indicates more X-ray flux, efficiency, and ionization performance in comparison with either a mono-type or multi-type in array format. In addition, the ionizing efficiency of overlapping area with multi-type showed 30% higher effectiveness rate as to the ordinary mono-type.

  • The transfer characteristics of zinc tin oxide(ZTO) on silicon dioxide($SiO_2$) thin film transistor generally depend on the electrical properties of gate insulators. $SiO_2$ thin films are prepared with argon gas flow rates of 25 sccm and 30 sccm. The rate of ionization of $SiO_2$(25 sccm) decreases more than that of $SiO_2$(30 sccm), and then the generation of electrons decreases and the conductivity of $SiO_2$(25 sccm) is low. Relatively, the conductivity of $SiO_2$(30 sccm) increases because of the high rate of ionization of argon gases. Therefore, the insulating performance of $SiO_2$(25 sccm) is superior to that of $SiO_2$(30 sccm) because of the high potential barrier of $SiO_2$(25 sccm). The $ZTO/SiO_2$ transistors are prepared to research the $CO_2$ gas sensitivity. The stability of the transistor of $ZTO/SiO_2$(25 sccm) as a high insulator is superior owing to the high potential barrier. It is confirmed that the electrical properties of the insulator in transistor devices is an important factor to detect gases.

콘칼로리미터 연소가스 FT-IR 분석을 위한 국제표준 초안의 비교시험 결과분석 (Results of a Round-Robin Test for the Draft International Standard on FT-IR Gas Analysis of Fire Effluents from a Cone Calorimeter)

  • ISO TC 92에서는 콘칼로리미터의 연소가스를 FT-IR 방식의 가스분석기로 분석하기 위한 표준을 개발하고 있다. 2018년에는 표준 초안(WD 21397)의 절차에 따라 6개 기관이 참여하여 표준 초안의 반복성 및 재현성을 평가하였다. 시험대상 시료는 polymethyl methacrylate (PMMA), 경질 폴리우레탄 보드 및 PVC 장판이었고 콘칼로리미터 시험결과 중 착화시간(s), 최대 열방출률(kW·m-2), 총 방출열량(MJ·m-2) 및 유효연소열(MJ·m-2·kg-1)을, 그리고 FT-IR 가스분석결과 중 독성가스의 최대 농도(µL·L-1), 가스 발생량(g) 및 가스 수율(g·g-1)을 ISO 5725-2에 따라 통계 분석하여 정밀도를 평가하였다. 이상치(outlier)는 발견되지 않았으며 콘칼로리미터 시험의 반복성(sr/m)은 1.5%, 재현성(sR/m)은 9.8%로 나타났고 FT-IR 가스분석의 반복성은 12.9%, 재현성은 27.9%로 나타났다.

Process Technology of the Direct Separation and Recovery of Iron and Zinc Metals Contained in High Temperature EAF Exhaust Gas

  • The innovatory process, that is the direct separation and recovery of the iron and zinc metals contained in the high temperature exhaust gas generated from the electric arc furnace fer the inn scrap melting and/or the dust treatment, has been proposed. This proposed process consists of the moving coke bed filter that is directly connected to the electric furnace, and the following heavy metal condenser. The exhaust gas passes through the filter and the condenser right after exhausting from the electric furnace. The moving coke bed filter is being controlled at about 1000℃ and collects iron and slag components contained in the high temperature exhaust gas. Heavy metals such as zinc and lead pass through the filter as vapor. Based on the thermodynamic considerations, the iron oxide and the zinc oxide are reduced in the filter. The solution loss reaction rate is comparatively low at about 1000℃ in the coke bed filter by the analysis using the mathematical simulation model. The heavy metal condenser is installed in the position after the coke bed filter, and rapidly cools the gas from about 1000℃ to 450℃ by a full of the cooling medium like the solid ceramic ball in addition to the cooling from the wall. The zinc and lead vapor condense and separate f개m the gas in a liquid state. The investigation of the characteristics of the exhaust gas of the commercial electric arc furnace, the fundamental experiments of the laboratory scale and the bench scale ensured the formation of this proposed process. A small-scale pilot plant examination is carrying out at present to confirm the formation of the process. It is certain that the dust generation of the electric arc furnace is extremely decreased, and it can save the energy consumption of usual dust treatment processes by the realization of this process.

  • This paper is researched discharge and ozone generation characteristics of ozonizer using $Al_2O_3$ Ceramic dielectric. The discharge characteristics with variation of the discharge electrode area is studied. The characteristics of ozone concentration. ozone generation and ozone yield were measured to discharge power, discharge electrode area and supplied gas flux for oxygen and air. The solubility of ozone for water concentrations and ozone generations proportional to discharge power and discharge electrode area. Ozone yield has slowly increase with Increasing discharge power at high flow-rate. As the result, the maximum values of ozone characteristics ozone generation and ozone yield, can be obtained 5817[ppm] and 36[g/kWh]. We make enough the ozone concentration as the air in the home. An electric discharge electrode area is apt to shrink gradually into a miniaturization trend of the ozonizer but the enlargement of the occurrence flight of the electric discharge area gives the characteristic enhance the aid in the identity condition through the structure improvement.

한국 전력시장에서의 가스터빈(GT) 발전기 경쟁력 및 시장 미진입 적정성 분석 (Analysis of Gas Turbine Competitiveness and Adequacy of Electricity Market Signal in Korea)

  • This study analyzed competition in peak load plants between CCGT and GT instead of competition between base and peak load plants like in previous studies. In common overseas power markets, CCGT and GT claim certain market shares as peak load plants with the latter boasting a high utilization rate as reserve plants. In South Korea, however, there has been no introduction of GT in the market that opened in 2001 with no analysis cases of GT's economy as a peak load plant. The current power market of South Korea is run on the cost-based pool, which allows for no price spikes. Since the capacity payment criteria for compensations for missing money are set based on GT generators, the power market uses GT generators as marginal plants. The purposes of this study were to analyze the competitive edge of GT generators as peak load plants in the domestic power market of South Korea and identify the causes of GT's failure in market entry, thus assessing the adequacy of market signals in the domestic power market.

Nature of the Wiggle Instability of Galactic Spiral Shocks

  • Gas in disk galaxies interacts nonlinearly with a underlying stellar spiral potential to form galactic spiral shocks. Numerical simulations typically show that these shocks are unstable to the wiggle instability, forming non-axisymmetric structures with high vorticity. While previous studies suggested that the wiggle instability may arise from the Kelvin-Helmholtz instability or orbit crowding of gas elements near the shock, its physical nature remains uncertain. It was even argued that the wiggle instability is of numerical origin, caused by the inability of a numerical code to resolve a shock that is inclined to numerical grids. In this work, we perform a normal-mode linear stability analysis of galactic spiral shocks as a boundary-value problem. We find that the wiggle instability originates physically from the potential vorticity generation at a distorted shock front. As the gas follows galaxy rotation, it periodically passes through multiple shocks, successively increasing its potential vorticity. This sets up a normal-mode that grows exponentially, with a growth rate comparable to the orbital angular frequency. We show that the results of our linear stability analysis are in good agreement with the those of local hydrodynamic simulations of the wiggle instability.
