This study presents a novel multilayer structure of parallel coupled-line bandpass filtercentered at 2.42 GHz with a fractional bandwidth value of approximately 19.4%. The designed filter can suppress harmonics with an appropriate frequency response by incorporating different techniques based on the multilayer technique. A combination of different techniques such as radial microstrip stubs and defected ground structure (DGS) and defected microstrip structure techniques are employed to suppress harmonics up to 5f0. These techniques are used in two layers to suppress up to 5f0. In addition, in this study, the effects of different parameters, such as the width of slot-line DGS, the angle of diagonal line slots in the upper layer, and the air gap between the two layers on the filter performance, are investigated. To verify the correct circuit operation, the designed filter is implemented and tested. The measurement results of the proposed filter are compared with the simulation results.

In this paper, a compact dual-mode filter structure without coupling gaps is proposed. The novel design is achieved by embedding a pair of equal crossed slots and spur-lines. Without coupling gaps between feed lines and patch resonator, the new filter can provide low insertion loss. It is found that this design has wide coupling range for dual-mode operation. It means that these characteristics of the proposed filter can reduce uncertainty in fabrication. By using two PIN diodes mounted inside a pair of spur-lines, the proposed structure works as a switchable filter. Also, it has a size reduction of about 34.7 %, compared with conventional dual-mode filters.

In this experiments, the fracture loads were measured and analysed by using of Instron universal testing machine (Model 1132). With 80 upper and lower deciduous molars that were free of dental caries. Isthmus of teeth were prepared to 1/3 and 1/4 of intercuspal width, and internal line angles with round and sharp shape, and then amalgam restoration were performed. The results of this study were as follows; 1. Resistance to fracture loads were greater with isthmus of 1/3 intercuspal width than of 1/4 intercuspal width, especially, statistically significant difference on upper and lower second deciduous molars. 2. Resistance to fracture loads were greater with rounded internal line angle than sharp internal line angle. The above results were as follows, the fracture loads had greater resistance on isthmus of 1/3 intercuspal width, and rounded internal line angle, but normal physiological occlusal forces could permit isthmus of 1/4 intercuspal width and rounded internal line angle.

This study is a basic research in purse seine fishery : on the behaviour of fish schools of tilapia Tilapia mossambica in the process of catch of the purse seine fishing method. The experiment was carried out for the mackerel purse seine which using of power block by fishing fleet system in the near sea of Cheju Island and as a forecast in the near future on the purse seine fishing, using of triplex net winch by one boat system in the near sea of Norway. These model purse seines were made of the scale of 1/180 of its full scale. The model purse seine test on the escaping behaviour of fish school by gap, area reducing of gap and tension of purse line was carried out in the stagnant water of experimental water tank. Designing and testing for the model purse seines were based on the Tauti's law. The results obtained were as follows : 1. When the time for the completing of pursing was 20 minutes, average swimming speed of fish school through a gap was 9.71cm/sec for powerblock seine and 9.97cm/sec for triplex seine. 2. In the case of pursing time in actual value was 20minutes, at 50 percent of the pursing, swimming behaviour of fish school in purse seine was 10% to I section, 80% to II section, 10% to III sectional direction for powerblock seine and a similar tendency for triplex seine. 3. In the case of pursing time in actual value was 20 minutes, at the time of 10 minutes have proceeded since then, area reducing rate of gap of the seine in projected front view was 63.5% for powerblock seine and 67.5% for triplex seine. 4. In the case of pursing time in actual value was 20 minutes, escaping rate of fish school by gap in projected front view was 70% for powerblock seine and 30% for triplex seine. Maximum tension of purse line was about 8.1 tons for powerblock seine and about 8.3 tons for triplex seine.
PURPOSE. This study aims to clinically compare the fitness and trueness of zirconia crowns fabricated by different combinations of open CAD-CAM systems. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Total of 40 patients were enrolled in this study, and 9 different zirconia crowns were prepared per patient. Each crown was made through the cross-application of 3 different design software (EZIS VR, 3Shape Dental System, Exocad) with 3 different processing devices (Aegis HM, Trione Z, Motion 2). The marginal gap, absolute marginal discrepancy, internal gap(axial, line angle, occlusal) by a silicone replica technique were measured to compare the fit of the crown. The scanned inner and outer surfaces of the crowns were compared to CAD data using 3D metrology software to evaluate trueness. RESULTS. There were significant differences in the marginal gap, absolute marginal discrepancy, axial and line angle internal gap among the groups (P < .05) in the comparison of fit. There was no statistically significant difference among the groups in terms of occlusal internal gap. The trueness ranged from 36.19 to 43.78 ㎛ but there was no statistically significant difference within the groups (P > .05). CONCLUSION. All 9 groups showed clinically acceptable level of marginal gaps ranging from 74.26 to 112.20 ㎛ in terms of fit comparison. In the comparison of trueness, no significant difference within each group was spotted. Within the limitation of this study, open CAD-CAM systems used in this study can be assembled properly to fabricate zirconia crown.

This study aims to rectify the disfigurement of bowlegged, (which means they have a gap between knees due to knee joint problems) females in their twenties through the development of pants patterns. The contents of the study are as follows: First, two types of basic pattern-making methods were selected. Two mock-ups, which were made by using these pre-selected basic patterns, were worn by three bowlegged participants and evaluated with a fit test. A basic pattern, which had good body fit was selected, which had a bubble or a wedge at in crotch area and roomy or snug upper thigh. Second, the mock-up, which was made by using the selected basic pattern, led to the outward movement of crease lines. Two types of patterns that were adjusted were evaluated through a fit test. As a result, an effective adjustment for moving the crease line to the outside or to the center was to cut along the slash line of a horizontal balance line to, but not through the crotch seam to spread the pattern at the hip. Third, three patterns were readjusted using the chosen alteration pattern, and the crotch seam and spread patterns of 1 cm, 2 cm, and 3 cm at the hip were applied. As a result of the evaluation of the fit test, three participants-the majority-showed a better fit when the spread amount in the pattern was 2 cm, although every participant did have a different gap between the knees. This study has significance in which rectifies the disfigurement of bowlegged individuals through the development of patterns for females in their twenties who are bowlegged.
The IARC Monographs Programme on the Evaluation of Carcinogenic Risks to Humans has reviewed, summarized and evaluated 869 environmental agents and exposures as oj June 2000. This large collection includes all relevant published epidemiological data on cancer in exposed humans and results of bioassays for carcinogenicity in experimental animals. Since 1986. cancer data have been systematically supplemented by summaries of other toxicological data that are relevant to assessments of carcinogenic hazard. These include summaries qf genetic and related effects of chemicals. which have been prepared as Genetic Activity Profiles (GAP) by the U.S. EPA in collaboration with IARC. As the Mono-graphs have proved increasingly valuable and influential worldwide. they have evolved into an encyclopedia on environmental carcinogenic risks to humans. However. the Monographs have historically been prepared only as printed books with limited distribution. and the Monographs Programme has needed to adjust to expectations oj wider availability. Since 1998 the evaluations and summaries have been globally accessible by Internet from IARC (http://www.iarc.fr) and the GAP profiles by Internet from EPA (http://www.epa.gov/gapdb/). with the two web sites linked. Improved EPN/ARC GAP database and software. GAP2000. now link GAP profiles directly to the appropriate IARC web pages for summaries of evaluations of a given compound and its overall IARC classification. During the year 2000. by means of optical character recognition (OCR) technology the entire series of IARC Monographs is being converted to an electronic version. The first edition is now available commercially in CD-ROM format and will soon become available on-line at .
Objective: The purpose of this study is to investigate the combined effects of ginkgo biloba extract, ginkgolide A and B and aspirin on SK-N-MC, human neuroblastoma cell viability and mRNA expression of growth associated protein43 (GAP43), Microtubule-associated protein 2 (MAP2), B-cell lymphoma2 (Bcl2) and protein53 (p53) gene in hypoxia and reperfusion condition. Methods: SK-N-MC cells were cultured with Dulbecco's Modified Eagle's Medium (DMEM) media in $37^{\circ}C$, 5% $CO_2$ incubator. The cells were cultured for 8 hours in non-glucose media and hypoxic condition and for 12 hours in normal media and $O_2$ concentration. Cell survival rate was measured with Cell Counting Kit-8 (CCK-8) reagent assay. Reverse transcriptase polymerase chain reaction (RT-PCR) was used to estimate mRNA levels of GAP43, MAP2, Bcl2, and p53 genes. Results: The ginkgolide A and B increased viable cell number decreased in hypoxic and reperfused condition. The co-treatment of ginkgolide B with aspirin also increased the number of viable cells, however, there was no additive effect. Although there was no increase of mRNA expression of GAP43, MAP2, and Bcl2 in SK-N-MC cells with individual treatment of ginkgolide A, B or aspirin in hypoxic and reperfused condition, the co-treatment of ginkgolide A or B with aspirin significantly increased GAP43 and Bcl2 mRNA levels. In MAP2, only the co-treatment of ginkgolide A and aspirin showed increasing effect. The mRNA expression of p53 had no change in all treating conditions. Conclusion: This study suggests that the combined treatments of Ginkgo biloba extracts and aspirin increase the regeneration of neuroblastoma cells injured by hypoxia and reperfusion.
Purpose. The purpose of present study was to evaluate the effect of changing structural stability of wax disc on the fit of prosthesis when the milling proceeded in order. Materials and methods. Prepared maxillary left first molar was used to fabricate a Ni-Cr alloy reference model. This was scanned to design crown and then wax pattern was milled, invested and cast to fabricate prosthesis. The wax patterns located in a row centrally within a single wax disc were set into a total of five groups ranging from WM1 group that was first milled to WM5 group that was last milled and the number of each group was set as 10. Silicone replica technique was used to measure the marginal gap, axial internal gap, line angle internal gap, occlusal internal gap. Data was evaluated with one-way ANOVA with significance level set at α = .05 and then Tukey HSD test was conducted for post analysis. Results. Marginal gap measured in each group, it was 40.41 ± 2.15 ㎛ in WM1 group, 40.44 ± 2.23 ㎛ in WM2 group, 39.96 ± 2.25 ㎛ in WM3 group, 39.96 ± 2.48 ㎛ in WM4 group, and 40.57 ± 2.53 ㎛ in WM5 group. No significant difference was found between groups. The significant difference between the groups was also not found in the axial internal gap, line angle internal gap, and occlusal internal gap. Conclusion. Internal and marginal fit of single crown to the sequential order of milling processing in the single machinable wax disc did not seem to be affected by the sequence.

In this paper, basic characteristics of transmission line employing PPGM (periodically perforated ground metal) were investigated using theoretical and experimental analysis.According to the results, unlike the conventional PBG (photonic band gap) structures, the characteristic impedance of the transmission line employing PPGM structure showed a real value, which exhibited a very small dependency on frequency. The transmission line employing PPGM structure showed a loss (per quarter wave length) higher by $0.1{\sim}0.2\;dB$ than the conventional microstrip line. According to the investigation of the dependency of RF characteristic on ground condition, the RF characteristic of the transmission line employing PPGM structure was hardly affected by the ground condition in the frequency lower than Ku band, but fairly affected in the frequency higher than Ku band, which indicated that coplanar waveguide employing PPGM structure was optimal for RF characteristic and reduction of size. Considering above results, impedance transformer was developed using coplanar waveguide with PPGM structure for the first time, and good RF characteristics were observed from the impedance transformer. In case that {\lambda}/4$ impedance transformer with a center frequency of 9 GHz was fabricated for a impedance transformation from 20 to10 {\Omega}$, the line width and length were 20 and $500\;{\mu}m$, respectively, and its size was only 0.64 % of the impedance transformer fabricated with conventional microstrip lines. Above results indicate that the transmission line employing PPGM is a promising candidate for a development of matching and passive elements on MMIC.
