  • In the last years fuzzy control has grown up to an important methodology of control engineering. In spite of the successful realizations of the underlying concepts in industrial products there has only been little effort regarding a semantical foundation of the prevailing heuristics that are used in fuzzy control. For this reason we want to outline promising approaches to an interpretation and better mathematical justification of fuzzy control, where the fundamental ideas of using equality relations to specify fuzzy environments for crisp data are presented. It turns out that Mamdani's classical max-min-inference is a consequence of our model.

  • This paper presents a fuzzy relaxation algorithm, which is based on the possibility and FAM instead of he probability and compatibility coefficients used in most of existing probabilistic relaxation algorithms, Because of eliminating stages for estimating of compatibility coefficients and normalization of the probability estimates, the proposed fuzzy relaxation algorithms increases the parallelism and has a simple iteration scheme. The construction of fuzzy relaxation scheme consists of the following three tasks: (1) definition of in/output linguistic variables, their term sets, and possibility. (2) Definition of FAM rule bases for relaxation using fuzzy compound relations. (3) Construction of the iteration scheme for calculating the new possibility estimate. Applications to region segmentation an ege detectiojn algorithms show that he proposed method can be used for not only reducing the image ambiguity and segmentation errors, but also enhancing the raw edge iteratively.

  • Fuzzy Controller is a system that displays a person's thoughts using membership function and IF-THEN rules. With the help of specialists' knowledge, rule bases can be explained in easy language. Furthermore Fuzzy Controller has strong resistance against turbulence. Its performance is especially prominent when targets cannot be measured in mathematic methods because the fuzzy controller can measure the output using only the relations between the input and output. But Fuzzy System has a problem that is calculation speed. I suggest you a theory to solve it. I applied a theory to inverted pendulum. Because it is represent of nonlinear system.

  • Measuring the similarity between fuzzy sets plays a vital role in several fields. However, none of all well-known similarity measure methods is all-powerful, and all have the localization of its usage. This paper defines some operations on the similarity measures of fuzzy sets such as summation and multiplication of two similarity measures. Also, these operations will be generalized to any number of similarity measures. These operations will be very useful especially in the field of computer vision, and data retrieval because these fields need to combine and find some relations between similarity measures.

  • The fuzzy pattern matching technique has been developed in the framework of fuzzy set and possibility theory in order to take into account the imprecision and the uncertainty pervading values which have to be compared to requirements (which may be fuzzy) in a pattern matching process. This paper restates the basic principles and extends them to situations where (sub)patterns are only required to be satisfied up to a given tolerance (which may be fuzzy), or where the different subparts of a compound pattern may have various levels of importance. Both cases correspond to a weakening of elementary patterns. which can be expressed by a fuzzy relations modelling an approximate equality or an uncertain strict equality respectively. We also study the more sophisticated case where some elementary patterns have not to be satisfied with the highest priority provided that weaker requirements remain satisfied. The fuzzy pattern matching technique applies in a variety of problems including the evaluation of soft queries with respect to a fuzzy database, the evaluation of the fuzzy condition parts of rules in approximate reasoning, or the evaluation of the belonging of an ill-known object to a flexible class in classification problems.

  • The notion of soft α-ideals and α-idealistic soft BCI-algebras is introduced and their basic properties are discussed. Relations between soft ideals and soft α-ideals of soft BCI-algebras are provided. Also idealistic soft BCI-algebras and α-idealistic soft BCI-algebras are being related. The restricted intersection, union, restricted union, restricted difference and "AND" operation of soft α-ideals and α-idealistic soft BCI-algebras are established. The characterizations of (fuzzy) α-ideals in BCI-algebras are given by using the concept of soft sets. Relations between fuzzy α-ideals and α-idealistic soft BCI-algebras are discussed.

  • Evaluation of the implementation and performance of a firm's green supply chain management (GSCM) is an ongoing process. Balanced scorecard is a multi-criteria evaluation concept that highlights implementation and performance measures. The literature on the framework is abundant literature but scarce on how to build a hierarchical framework under uncertainty with dependence relations. Hence, this study proposes a hybrid approach, which includes applied interpretive structural modeling to build a hierarchical structure and uses the analytic network process to analyze the dependence relations. Additionally, this study applies the fuzzy set theory to determine linguistic preferences. Twenty dependence criteria are evaluated for a GSCM implemented firm in Taiwan. The result shows that the financial aspect and life cycle assessment are the most important performance and weighted criteria.

  • This study is to develop evaluation indicator for brand self-diagnosis of agricultural management organizations and analyze importance weight to be used in the field. Self-diagnosis evaluation indicator of brand equity of agricultural management organizations were selected by brainstorming of brand specialists. As a result, six evaluation indicator of communication, organization, responsiveness, clarity, customer relations and quality control were selected. Importance weight of self-diagnosis evaluation indicator of brand equity of agricultural management organizations was analyzed by AHP(Analytic Hierarchy Process) and Fuzzy AHP. The results of Fuzzy AHP were as follows. Communication for 13.9%, organization for 6.5%, responsiveness for 9.9%, clarity for 7.7%, customer relations for 26.5%, and quality control for 35.5% respectively. In order to enhance brand equity of agricultural management organizations, first, cultivation guidelines should be set up to produce equal quality products among members. Second, quality levels need to be subdivided, brands and packages should be different by level. Third, persistent efforts to find new clients and distributors. Fourth, various efforts to maintain the existing excellent clients and distributors.

  • Traditional clustering methods are usually based on the bag-of-words (BOW) model. A disadvantage of the BOW model is that it ignores the semantic relationship among terms in the data set. To resolve this problem, ontology or matrix factorization approaches are usually used. However, a major problem of the ontology approach is that it is usually difficult to find a comprehensive ontology that can cover all the concepts mentioned in a collection. This paper proposes a new document clustering method using semantic features and fuzzy relations for solving the problems of ontology and matrix factorization approaches. The proposed method can improve the quality of document clustering because the clustered documents use fuzzy relation values between semantic features and terms to distinguish clearly among dissimilar documents in clusters. The selected cluster label terms can represent the inherent structure of a document set better by using semantic features based on non-negative matrix factorization, which is used in document clustering. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves better performance than other document clustering methods.
