This paper illustrates a new fuzzy effective load model for probabilistic and fuzzy production cost simulation of the load point of the composite power system. A model for reliability evaluation of a transmission system using the fuzzy set theory is proposed for considering the flexibility or ambiguity of capacity limitation and overload of transmission lines, which are subjective matter characteristics. A conventional probabilistic approach was also used to model the uncertainties related to the objective matters for forced outage rates of generators and transmission lines in the new model. The methodology is formulated in order to consider the flexibility or ambiguity of load forecasting as well as capacity limitation and overload of transmission lines. It is expected that the Fuzzy CMELDC (CoMposite power system Effective Load Duration Curve) proposed in this study will provide some solutions to many problems based on nodal and decentralized operation and control of an electric power systems in a competitive environment in the future. The characteristics of this new model are illustrated by some case studies of a very simple test system.

This paper presents an industrial peak load management system for the peak demand control. Kohonen neural network and wavelet transform based techniques are adopted for industrial peak load forecasting that will be used as input data of the peak demand control. Firstly, one year of historical load data of a steel company were sorted and clustered into several groups using Kohonen neural network and then wavelet transforms are applied with Biorthogonal 1.3 mother wavelet in order to forecast the peak load of one minute ahead. In addition, for the peak demand control, composite fuzzy model is proposed and implemented in this work. The results are compared with those of conventional model, fuzzy model and composite model, respectively. The outcome of the study clearly indicates that the composite fuzzy model approach can be used as an attractive and effective means of the peak demand control.
This study develops an extended inverse input estimation algorithm with intelligent adaptive fuzzy weighting to effectively estimate the unknown input wind load of nonlinear structural systems. This algorithm combines the extended Kalman filter and recursive least squares estimator with intelligent adaptive fuzzy weighting. This study investigated the unknown input wind load applied on a tower structural system. Nonlinear characteristics will exist in various structural systems. The nonlinear characteristics are particularly more obvious when applying larger input wind load. Numerical simulation cases involving different input wind load types are studied in this paper. The simulation results verify the nonlinear characteristics of the structural system. This algorithm is effective in estimating unknown input wind loads.
This paper presents fuzzy clustering and wavelet transform analysis based technique for the industrial hourly load forecasting fur the purpose of peak demand control. Firstly, one year of historical load data were sorted and clustered into several groups using fuzzy clustering and then wavelet transform is adopted using the Biorthogonal mother wavelet in order to forecast the peak load of one hour ahead. The 5-level decomposition of the daily industrial load curve is implemented to consider the weather sensitive component of loads effectively. The wavelet coefficients associated with certain frequency and time localization is adjusted using the conventional multiple regression method and the components are reconstructed to predict the final loads through a five-scale synthesis technique. The outcome of the study clearly indicates that the proposed composite model of fuzzy clustering and wavelet transform approach can be used as an attractive and effective means for the industrial hourly peak load forecasting.

For efficient operating strategy of electric power system, forecasting of daily peak electric load is an important but difficult problem. Therefore a daily peak electric load forecasting system using a neural network and fuzzy system is presented in this paper. First, original peak load data is interpolated in order to overcome the shortage of data for effective prediction. Next, the prediction of peak load using these interpolated data as input is performed in parallel by a neural network predictor and a fuzzy predictor. The neural network predictor shows better performance at drastic change of peak load, while the fuzzy predictor yields better prediction results in gradual changes. Finally, the superior one of two predictors is selected by the rules based on rough sets at every prediction time. To verify the effectiveness of the proposed method, the computer simulation is performed on peak load data in 2015 provided by KPX.
Renewable energy hybrid systems look into the process of choosing the finest arrangement of components and their sizing with suitable operation approach to deliver effective, consistent and cost effective energy source. This paper presents hybrid renewable energy system (HRES) solar photovoltaic, downdraft biomass gasifier, and fuel cell based generation system. HRES electrical power to supply the electrical load demand of academic research building sited in $23^{\circ}12^{\prime}N$ latitude and $77^{\circ}24^{\prime}E$ longitude, India. Fuzzy logic programming discover the most effective capital and replacement value on components of HRES. The cause regarding fuzzy logic rule usage on HOMER pro (Hybrid optimization model for multiple energy resources) software program finds the optimum performance of HRES. HRES is designed as well as simulated to average energy demand 56.52 kWh/day with a peak energy demand 4.4 kW. The results shows the fuel cell and battery bank are the most significant modules of the HRES to meet load demand at late night and early morning hours. The total power generation of HRES is 23,794 kWh/year to the supply of the load demand is 20,631 kWh/year with 0% capacity shortage.

This paper discusses real-time peak shaving algorithms for a large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS). Although several transmission and distribution functions could be implemented for diverse purposes in BESS applications, this paper focuses on a real-time peak shaving algorithm for an energy time shift, considering wind power generation. In a high wind penetration environment, the effective load levels obtained by subtracting the wind generation from the load time series at each long-term cycle time unit are needed for efficient peak shaving. However, errors can exist in the forecast load and wind generation levels, and the real-time peak shaving operation might require a method for wind generation that includes comparatively large forecasting errors. To effectively deal with the errors of wind generation forecasting, this paper proposes a real-time peak shaving algorithm for threshold value-based peak shaving that considers fuzzy wind power generation.
This paper proposes a fuzzy logic controlled new topology of high voltage gain zero voltage switching (ZVS) asymmetrical PWM full-bridge DC-DC boost converter for constant load and high power applications. The APWM full-bridge stage provides high voltage gain and soft-switching characteristics increase the efficiency and reduce the switching losses. Fuzzy logic controller (FLC) improves the performance and dynamic characteristics of the proposed converter. A comparison with a classical proportional-integral (PI) controller demonstrates the high performances of the proposed technique in terms of effective output voltage regulation under different operating conditions. Simulation is done by integrating two different simulation platforms $PSIM^{(R)}$ and $Matlab^{(R)}/Simulink^{(R)}$ by using SimCoupler tool of $PSIM^{(R)}$. Experimental results using 120W load have been provided to validate the results.
This paper presents an optimal Fuzzy Control Technique to control the load frequency control of multiarea power system with a given stepwise load disturbance. The related simulation results show that the optimized fuzzy control technique are more effective than the conventional control technique (TBC, Optimal Control and etc) for reduction of load frequency deviation in transient and stedy-state, and for minimization of settling time.

The roof crane system is used for transporting a variable load to a target position. The goal of crane control system is transporting the load to a goal position as quick as possible without rope oscillation. The crane is generally operated by an expert operator, but recently an automatic control system with high speed and rapid tansportation is required. In this paper, we developed a simple fuzzy controller which has been introduced expert's knowledge base for anti-swing and rapid tranportation to goal position. In particular, we proposed the synthesis reasoning method which synthesizes on the basis of expert knowledge of the angle control input and position control input which are inferenced parallel and simultaneously. And we confirmed that the performance of the developed controller is effective as a result of applying it to crane simulator and also verified whether the proposed synthesis rules have been applied correctly using clustering algorithm from the measured data.
