  • Humans have been breeding the mulberry silkworm for the long period of time to obtain silk fabric and nutrient-rich pupae. Currently, silkworm larvae, pupae, and silk-Fibroin hydrolysates are registered as food raw materials, while silkworm feces and Bombyx batryticatus are registered as Korean traditional medicines. Among sericulture products, individually recognized health functional food ingredients include silk-protein acid-hydrolysates for immunity enhancement, Fibroin-hydrolysates for memory improvement, and freeze-dried 5th instar and 3rd-day-silkworm powder for lowering-blood sugar. Recently, HongJam produced by steaming and freeze-drying mature silkworms were reported to have various health-promoting effects such as preventing the onset of Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease, enhancing gastro-intestinal functions, improving skin-whitening and hair growth, and extending healthspan. By consuming silkworm products with various health-promoting effects, it is possible to increase the healthspan of human beings, thereby reducing personal and national medical expenses, resulting in increasing the individual's happiness.

  • A term 'Wolabal' which is an abbreviation of the words, in South Korea means the balance between work and life. The term reflects on people's thoughts to seek for their happiness these days. In fact, they think that the quality of the life is more valuable than any other things on their lives, reflecting on the issues caused by modern societies. 'Wolabal' has emerged as an alternatives to solve the social issues like economic recession, high unemployment rate, aging society, low birth rate and etc. However, in order to establish 'Wolabal' as a culture the comprehensive agreement between an individual and society should be considered first. In society, the system or policies to forster cultural business should be settled while in individual, it is necessary to change the way they think about their work and the qualities of their lives. From this view we have to focus on the relationship between their work and leisure. On the relationship between their work and leisure we should understand that the relationship is not conflicted but co-exists and understanding the real meaning of the relationship is critical in balancing between work and life. The recognition to the labor which has been from the past would give not only the meaning of individual survival but the one of their whole lives. Despite this, modern society has faded away the real meaning of labor because it has focused on the mass manufacturing and sometimes the long-termed economic sluggish has emerged. This trend has made people think about their lives and seek for their lives' real value.

  • Not only emotions affect physical sensations, but they also have an impact on physical movements. The responses to emotions vary depending on the type of emotional stimuli. However, research on the effects of emotional stimuli on the activation of bodily movements has not been rigorously examined, and these effects have not been investigated in Autonomous Emotion Recognition (AER) systems. In this study, we aimed to compare the emotional responses of 20 participants to three types of emotional stimuli (words, pictures, and videos) and investigate their activation or deactivation for the AER system. Our dependent measures included emotional responses, computer-based self-reporting methods, and bodily movements recorded using motion capture devices. The results suggested that video stimuli elicited higher levels of emotional movement, and emotional movement patterns were similar across different types of emotional stimuli for happiness, sadness, anger, and neutrality. Additionally, the findings indicated that bodily changes observed during video stimuli had the highest classification accuracy. These findings have implications for future research on the bodily changes elicited by emotional stimuli.

Vital capitalism, presented by O-Yong Lee, seeks focusing onto living things principles, e.g. 'topophilia', 'neophilia', and 'biophilia' as the dynamics looking for the history substructure, not class struggle and conflicts. He also argues the 'Vital Capitalism' be regarded as a new methodology to anticipate a social system after post human era. G. Deleuze said "arts is another expression method for existential philosophy. It gives a vitality onto philosophy and gives a role to letting abstract concept into definite image." We can find a lot cases arts' imagination overcomes critical point of scientific prediction power in the future prediction. This paper reviews ideas and issues of 'vital capitalism' in detail and explorers imaginating initial ideas of vital capitalism in the film 'Little Forest.'

  • This study is a qualitative case study on the experience of an on-site, audience-participatory educational play conducted by four college students majoring in theater under the title 'Hooni and Choroki' for 7-year-old kindergarten students about to enter elementary school. The core theme of the play is to help relieve anxiety about school life before entering elementary school and to communicate smoothly with peers. To this end, college students participate in scenario planning, kindergarten recruitment, and 40-minute training at three kindergartens. He even conducted theatrical performances. As a result of the study, the key components of 'another growth in my life', 'improvement of happiness through meeting children', and 'new challenge toward dreams' were derived. The greatest significance of this study is that the audience-participatory educational theater experience allowed college students to practice sharing the results of their learning with someone else, and through this practice of sharing learning, they were able to realize their somewhat vague career paths and dreams. It was an opportunity that allowed me to experience 'improved confidence' and 'a resonance in my heart' so that I could set a direction. We hope that future educational theater with audience participation will be widely implemented in various aspects.

  • This study aimed to propose implications for mental health and cultural arts education, in which certain factors can contribute to acquiring and improving creativity in adolescents to cultivate the creative human resources required in future society. The study used panel data from the Korean Education Longitudinal Study provided by the Korea Educational Development Institute. First, we analyzed the correlation between mental health and creativity and then examined mediation and serial mediation effects of the frequency of participation in cultural activities and the experience of them between two factors. The results showed that mental health was significantly positively correlated with creativity. Additionally, the frequency of participation in cultural activities and their experience were confirmed to have partial mediating effects. In other words, sound mental health factors such as comfort, enjoyment and happiness, cultural education, and cultural activities were found to have positive effects on creativity in adolescents. To develop creativity in adolescents, this study suggests the following challenges: (1) enhancing positive mental health, (2) increasing participation in cultural and artistic activities, (3) actively developing education programs for the cultural arts on community and educational sites, and (4) using and promoting local cultural and artistic education programs. These are expected to make an important contribution to fostering talented adolescents with creativity and convergence.
