Distributed/parallel Algorithm Simulator (분산 및 병렬 알고리즘 시뮬레이터)

  • A new distributed/parallel algorithm simulator, DASim(Distributed Algorithm Simulator), is proposed in this paper. The idea is to ease the task of design, analysis and implementation of distributed algorithms. A small high level language has been proposed for the purpose. Through this non-language specific high level language, the users are spared from the tedious details about how to program distributed or parallel algorithms. Further, visualization of these algorithms are pretty helpful to understand behaviors of these algorithms.

  • This paper describes a Battle Group Combat Simulation Model (called 'BAGSIM'). BAGSIM is developed to be used as an experimental tool for studies about combat modelling at battle group level. Thus it takes many of the parameters and situations into consideration at this level, and it is designed to be easily adapted to represent equivalent situations to the other more aggregated models. Further the main processes occurring in its simulation procedure such as target detection process, target selection process, firing and killing processes are verified by comparison with the existing stochastic duel models.

  • Conflict resolution in decision-making groups is studied using a System Dynamics model. The model is developed using a grounded-theory approach. Some preliminary results are shown. The results seem to be in line with much empirical research done in the management literature about conflict and conflict resolution at the group level of analysis. Ideas for further research are discussed.

Study on the direct approach to reinitialization in using level set method for simulating incompressible two-phase flows (비압축성 2 상유동의 모사를 위한 level set 방법에서의 reinitialization 직접 접근법에 관한 연구)

  • The computation of moving interface by the level set method typically requires reinitializations of level set function. An inaccurate estimation of level set function ${\phi}$ results in incorrect free-surface capturing and thus errors such as mass gain/loss. Therefore, accurate and robust reinitialization process is essential to the free-surface flows. In the present paper, we pursue further development of the reinitialization process, which evaluates directly level set function ${\phi}$ using a normal vector in the interface without solving the re-distancing equation of hyperbolic type. The Taylor-Galerkin approximation and P1P1splitting FEM are adopted to discretize advection equation of the level set function and the Navier-Stokes equation, respectively. Advection equation of free surface and re-initialization process are validated with benchmark problems, i.e., a broken dam flow and time-reversed single vortex flow. The simulation results are in good agreement with the existing results.

Analysis of Spatial Distribution of Hypertension Prevalence and Its Related Factors based on the Model of Social Determinants of Health

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the spatial distribution of hypertension prevalence and to investigate individual and regional-level factors contributing to the prevalence of hypertension in the region. Methods: This study is a cross-sectional research using the 2015 Community Health Survey. Total 64,473 people from 7 metropolitan cities were used for the final analysis. Geoda program was adopted to identify the regional distribution of hypertension prevalence and analyzed by descriptive statistics, one-way ANOVA and correlation analysis using SPSS statistics 23.0 program. Multi-level analysis was performed using SPSS (GLMM). Results: The prevalence of hypertension was related to individual level factors such as age, monthly household income, normal salt intake, walking practice days, and regional level factors including number of doctors per 10,000 population, number of parks, and fast food score. Besides, regional level factors were associated with hypertension prevalencies independently without the effects of individual level factors even though the influences of individual level factors ware larger than those of regional factors. Conclusion: Respectively, both individual and regional level factors should be considered in hypertension intervention programs. Also, a national level research is further required by exploring various environmental factors and those influences relating to the hypertension prevalence.

For the Success of Smart Product Bundling: Complementarity Level and Advertising Strategy

  • Purpose: This study investigates how to successfully promote the smart product bundle by exploring (1) how consumers' adoption intention toward a smart product bundle differs by the complementarity level of the bundled items and (2) how the ad appeal type influences the effect of complementarity level on adoption intention via goal fluency. Research design, data and methodology: This study was a 2 (complementarity level: low vs. high) × 2 (ad appeal type: attribute vs. benefit) between-subjects experiment. The proposed hypotheses were verified using analysis of variance (ANOVA) and bootstrap analysis using PROCESS. Results: This research demonstrated that adoption intention toward smart products increases when the complementarity level of bundled smart items is high. Goal fluency underlies this relationship. Further, attribute versus benefit appeal type moderates the relationship between the complementarity level and goal fluency. Conclusions: Compared with the attribute appeal, benefit appeal leads to higher goal fluency when the complementarity level of the bundled items is low. However, there was no differential impact of appeal type on goal fluency when the complementarity level of bundled items is high. Finally, goal fluency mediated the interaction of complementarity level × ad appeal type on adoption intention.

Associations of Perceived Stress Level, Serum Cortisol Level, and Telomere Length of Community-dwelling Adults in Korea (지역사회 거주 성인의 지각된 스트레스, 혈중 코티졸 수준 및 텔로미어 길이의 관련성)

  • Purpose: To investigate associations of perceived stress level, serum cortisol level, and telomere length of community-dwelling adults in Korea. Methods: Data of a total of 135 community-dwelling adults aged over 40 years living in D metropolitan city from December 2020 to March 2021 were collected. Perceived stress level over the past month were measured using the Perceived Stress Score. Serum cortisol level was analyzed using a chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay. Telomere length was determined using quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. The statistical package SPSS 23.0 was used to perform Chi-square test, independent t-test, and Pearson's correlation coefficient analysis. Results: There was no association between perceived stress and serum cortisol level (r = .07, p= .402). Serum cortisol level was not significantly associated with telomere length either (r = -.15, p= .081). However, the higher the perceived stress level, the shorter the telomere length (r= -.29, p= .001). Conclusion: These results suggest that perceived stress might induce physiological stress, which might partially affect gene biology. Further longitudinal research is needed to investigate the effect of perceived stress on telomere length. Intervention for relieving stress should be included in stabilizing the genetic environment of adults.

A study on Anwareness for Improvement of Oriental Medical Care System in Community People (한방의료개선에 대한 지역사회주민의 의식조사)

  • To procide basic data for improvement of oriental medical care system, the questionnaire interview was carried out with community peoples, over 20 years old, selected randomly in Seoul, Pusan, Taegu and Taejon err. from 10th Mar. to 20th Apr. 1996. The result were summarized as follows: 1. In the general characteristics of subjects, the highest portion of each part was 52.4% of male, 22.4% of thirties, 37.1% of college graduates, 19.1% of married, 30.6% of town dwellers, 63.3% of muddle social class, 26.6% of housewife, 19.3% of student, 16.6% officer and 11.6% of professional technician. 2. The portion of subjects agree to open oriental clinic in western medicine hospital was 60.0%, that of disagreement was 20.1%, Among 60.0% of agreement group, the high rate was showed in female, fifties, middle school graduates, unemployed, middle social level. 3. The rate of positive responses in system of a herb specialist was 64.7%, that of negative responses was 11.6%. Among positive responses, the groups of high rate were male. twenties, above college graduates, student, middle-high social level and city dwellers. 4. In the question whether a pack of herb medicine should be included in medical insurance or not, the rate of agreement was 74.3%, that of disagreement was 4.1%. Amount agreement subjects, the high rate was showed in male, young age, high educated, city dwellers, professional technician middle social class. 5. In the cost of oriental medical care, the portion was divided by 70.3% of expensiveness,25.6% of moderate, 4.1% of low price. among 70.3% of high price, the high rate was in female, forties, agrolivestock-fishery, and town dwellers. 6. In the question what the herb doctor should do for the improvement of oriental medicine, the highest rate was 54.2% in further study. The next was 23.0% in need of western medical and 9.1% in no complain in present situation. Among 54.2% of further study, the high rate was showed in male, forties, high school graduate, profession technician, high social level, christian, married and city dwellers. 7. About institution of oriental care, 86.8% of subjects answered to need of improvement, 8.0% of them replied no problem as present. Amount 86.8% of subjects, the high rate was showed in male, twenties, above college graduate, sales, singles, high social level and city dwellers. 8. About necessity of western medical care instrument in oriental medical hospital, the rate of sightly need was 47.5%, inevitably need was 37.7%, no need was 6.3%, the Positive subjects were showed high rate in male, officer, singer, the younger age, the higher educated, better social level and city dwellers. These results might be useful information for establishing of oriental medical care policies, which open oriental medical clinic in western medical hospital, equip western medical care instrument in oriental medical hospital, improve oriental medical care instrument carry out a herb specialist system, balance the resonable medical care cost and effort for further study & research on oriental medicine to satisfy increasing need of oriental medicine.

The effect of water extract of antler on serum level of female hormone in ovariectomized rats (녹용의 물 추출액 투여가 난소를 절제한 흰쥐의 여성호르몬 변화에 미치는 영향)

  • The effect of water extract of antler on serum level of female hormones was investigated in ovariectemized rats. Sprague-Dawley rats were ovariectomized(ox). After a further 40 days the animals were administrated with water extract of antler (625mg/kg daily) for 10, 20 and 30 days, respectively. Serum level of estradiol, progesterone, leutenizing hormone and follicle stimulating hormone were measured. Significant increase of serum estradiol level was elicited at 20 and 30 days after treatment with water extract of antler, respectively, Associated with the increase of serum estradiol level, there was a concomitant decrease in serum follicle stimulating hormone level. Serum progesterone level was also significantly increased at 30 days after treatment with water extract of antler. Although serum leutenizing hormone level of ox rats treated with water extract of anther was slightly lower than that of untreated ox rats, the decrease was not significant.
