This study presented the results of ophthalmic examinations performed on 545 Korean Jindo dogs. The most prevalent ocular variation within normal limits was hyoid vessel remnant (12.7%) and prominence of lens suture was also noticed (1.7%). The most common ocular diseases were retinal scars (6.8%), focal cataract (4.6%) and persistent pupillary membrane (4.2%). Inherited ocular diseases found in this study were persistent pupillary membrane (4.2%), persistent hyperplastic primary vitreous (0.6%), retinal dysplasia (0.6%), entropion (0.4%) and progressive retinal atrophy (0.4%). The prevalence of ocular diseases was higher in Male than in Female and proportionately higher in the older dogs. The most prevalence was shown in white coat color dogs. The fundus color changes according to the age was not related in coat colors and shown same pattern.

We examined the stomaches of slaughtered pigs to evaluate the gastric lesions. Gastric ulcer accompanying parakeratosis and hyperkeratosis were most frequently observed in the mucosa layer of pars oesophagea. Diffuse congestion and focal necrosis was also frequently seen on the fundus. Pierce wounds by toothpick were seen from 3 stomaches.

To report retinal image of in a 6-year-old male castrated poodle dog with a 2-month history of nyctalopia using optical coherence tomography (OCT). Ocular reflexes were present in both eyes and slit lamp examination showed anterior subscapular cataract in the right eye. There were fundus abnormalities in both eyes similar to retinal degeneration. Scotopic electroretinograms (ERGs) revealed significantly subabnormal amplitudes and prolonged implicit time, whereas photopic ERGs were better maintained, although far from normal. OCT of affected dogs revealed generalized retinal thinning much more than a normal age-matched dog. Therefore, OCT scanning is considered to be a useful method for retinal evaluation in dogs with retinal degeneration.

저자들은 고도근시에 의한 망막하 신생혈관의 형성으로 심한 시력장애가 있었던 2명의 환자에서 특별한 치료없이 자연경과 관찰중 망막하 신생혈관의 자연 퇴축으로 인하여 많은 시력의 회복이 있었던 경우를 경험하였기에 문헌고찰과 함께 보고하는 바이다.

Inflammatory myofibroblastic tumors (IMTs) of the stomach are extremely rare in adults, and their oncologic prognosis is not well understood. We present a 28-year-old man with a proximal gastric IMT. The patient visited the emergency department of Yeouido St. Mary's Hospital with syncope and hematemesis. Hemoglobin levels were <5.5 g/dl. Gastric fibroscopy showed a protruding mass $4{\times}4cm$ in size, with central ulceration on the posterior wall of the fundus and diffuse wall thickening throughout the cardia and anterior wall of the upper body. Endoscopic biopsy revealed indeterminate spindle cells, along with inflammation. Given the risk of rebleeding, an operation was performed despite the uncertain diagnosis. Because the mass was circumferential, laparoscopic proximal gastrectomy and double-tract anastomosis were performed to ensure a safe resection margin. The pathological diagnosis was consistent with an IMT originating from the stomach, although the tumor was negative for anaplastic lymphoma kinase gene mutation.

Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada(VKH) Disease is a bilateral granulomatous uveitis often associated with exudative retinal detachment and extraocular manifestations, such as pleocytosis in the cerebrospinal fluid and, in some case, vitiligo, poliosis, alopecia, and dysacusis. There has been no previous report for the disease in the field of Korean traditional medicine. The case was treated with conventional medical intervention and Korean traditional treatment including acupuncture and herbal medicine. The case was discharged with improvement in fundus photography and optical coherence tomography. The authors report the case to suggest that Korean medical approach combined with conventional treatment can be helpful for the disease.

The present studies were undertaken in attempt to investigate the therapeutic effect of ethanol in dogs intoxicated with ethylene glycol Three dogs treated with ethylene glycol and other three dogs with ethylene glycol plus 20% ethanol orally were examined on clinical signs, endoscopic views, histopathological findings, and autopsy findings respectively. The results obtained were summarized as fellows : 1. The clinical sings and their severity of dogs intoxicated with ethylene glycol were time related and progressed from vomiting, depression, thirsty, tachycardia, tachypnea, convulsiot ataxia, melena, uremia and coma, but clinical signs of dogs treated with ethylene glycol and ethanol simultaneously only stowed vomiting and thirsty. 2. In the gastroscopic view, the dogs intoxicated with ethyelne glycol showed edematous, hyperemia, errosive and ulcerative lesions in the fundus and body area but the dogs treated with ethylene glycol and ethanol simultanously showed edematous and hyperemic lesions. 3. Oral treatment of ethanol with ethylene glycol simultaneously have reduced the signs of EG intoxications in dogs.

본 시스템은 기존 안저사진의 높은 해상도와 광각 안저사진의 촬영의 편의성과 넓은 시야 각의 장점을 둘 다 취하기 위해, 광각 안저사진을 원본으로 하여 기존 안저사진을 생성하는 작업을 제안한다. 안저사진의 생성 알고리즘은 이미지 생성에 특화된 생산적 적대 신경망(GANs)을 채택하였다. 신경망의 성능을 평가하기 위해, 생성된 안저사진과 직접 촬영한 기존 안저사진으로부터 특성을 추출을 하여 특이점 간의 거리를 측정하고, 이를 바탕으로 두 사진의 유사도를 판단한다.

The recombinant human epidermal growth factor(DWP 401) was investigated on the pharrnacological actions. DWP 401 had no effects on the hexobarbital-induced sleeping time, locomotor activity, rotarod test, body temperature, analgesic action and anticonvulsant action in mice. It also had no influences on the isolated tracheal muscle and ileum of guinea-pig, isolated uterus and fundus strip of rats. Slight hypotensive action with effect on respiration was revealed at a dose of 8 g/kg i.v. of DWP 401 in rabbits. DWP 401 exhibited a weak inhibitory action of glucose tolerance in normal rats, significantly lowered the blood glucose contents in adrenalectomized rats at .a concentration of 160 g,/kg, and produced a significant inhibitory effect on leucocyte migration in CMC-pouch of rats at a concentration of 32 g/rat. Furthermore, DWP 401 showed a significant decrease on gastric juice volume and acidity. However. DWP 401 had no intestinal propulsion rate and influence on urine excretion.

A 2-year-old intact female Bengal cat was presented with a 6-month history of visual impairment. The cat manifested bilateral negative menace responses and dazzle reflexes and sluggish pupillary light reflexes. Bilateral fundus changes included generalized tapetal hyperreflectivity, advanced retinal vascular attenuation, and increased pallor of the optic disc. A diagnosis of bilateral retinal degeneration was made. The clinical findings suggest that the investigated Bengal cat was most likely to have an inherited retinal degeneration. Further studies of the Bengal cat breed are needed to determine the prevalence of inherited retinal degeneration in this breed in Korea.
