Through comparison and evaluation of various HDD systems for PC such as magnetic HDD, Intel turbo memory and Solid State Drive (SSD), an optimized HDD system to improve booting speed proposed. For the study, conventional magnetic HDD, magnetic HDD with Intel turbo memory, SSD and SSD with Intel turbo memory are used. The evaluation is performed based on a full notebook machine with Intel SantaRosa platform and MicroSoft Windows Vista.

In this paper, the design of a two-degree-of-freedom(TDF) controller is proposed to track the reference model, as well as to reject an influence of measurable disturbance for descrpitor system. The TDF controllers based on the Youla parametrization reveals that the design of the feedforward controller and the regulator can be done independently. First, to solve this problem, we will change descriptor system into regular state space system using a state feedback. And then, the feedforward controller is determined by solving a full information approach for augmented system with a nominal control constraint, and the regulator is designed by means of the loop-Shaping method.

An electronic ballast for driving automotive HID lamps is presented. The circuit topology is composed of a fly back converter, a Ful bridge inverter, and an igniter. A prototype was developed and tested on a 35W lamp with a 12V input voltage. To avoiding the acoustic resonance, the full bridge inverter is operated at 250Hz and provided a squared-wave voltage source to the lamp. The transient and steady state characteristics of the tested HID lamps are measured and analyzed.

A full two-dimensional MOSFET simulator utilizing the Mixed Particle Monte Carlo method is introduced. Particle simulation for both electrons and holes are self-consistently coupled with Poisson 's equation. To demonstrate the performance of the simulator, steady state and transient state solutions of the terminal characteristics and the internal physical quantities are obtained for 0.25$\mu$m MOSFETs with three different structures` conventional single drain, LDD and GOLD MOSFET structures.

To develope the new simulator for the analysis of fluid flow information, the influence of various convective difference schemes were evaluated. General curvilinear coordinate system with nonorthogonal grids was adopted for the successful analysis of various complex geometries. Computation results show that if we can not obtain full grid numbers within available computational environment, we need to use higher order finite difference schemes to keep the prediction accuracy.

A new package design method to reduce resonance effect due to an IC package is represented. Frequency-variant circuit model of the power/ground plane was developed to accurately reflect the resonance. The circuit model is benchmarked with a full wave simulation, thereby verifying its accuracy. Then it was shown that the proposed technique can efficiently reduce the resonance due to the IC package.

MPEG-2 AAC(Advanced Audio Coding) is the most advanced coding scheme available for high quality audio coding. This MPEG-2 AAC audio Standard allows for ITU-R ‘indistinguishable’ quality according to at data rates of 320 kb/s for five full-bandwidth channel audio signals. The compression ratio is around a factor of 1.4 better compared to MPEG Layer 3, you get the same quality at 70% of the bitrate. This paper suggest optimization method for MDCT/IMDCT (Modified Discrete Cosine Transform/Inverse Modified Discrete Cosine Transform) in Encoder and Decoder for AAC.

A new frequency-variant equivalent circuit model of power/ground plane is presented. The equivalent circuit is modeled with grid cells. The circuit parameters of each cell were extracted by using Fasthenry. To verify the developed circuit model, its s-parameters are compared with the measured s-parameters 〔2〕 and the full-wave simulation-based s-parameters. Consequently, it is shown that our frequency-variant equivalent circuit model can accurately predict imperfect ground effects under the high frequency operation of electronic package.

A direct digital frequency synthesizer is designed in full custom method using 0.65${\mu}{\textrm}{m}$ CMOS n-well technology The chip provides the capability of the parallel operation using up to 4 chips with an operation frequency of 440MHz. The generated waveform can be modulated by various modulation techniques such as QPSK, 256 . 64. 32 . 16 QAM and FM.
