  • In this paper we consider TU-cooperative games in the form of characteristic function. We notice that if one uses the necessary and sufficient condition for the core to be not empty in a dual form, it may be used for selecting the final outcome in the core. Using the linear programming approach for constructing the subcore, which is a subset of the core, we represent it in a simple form. We consider reduced games due to Davis-Mashler, Moulin and Funaki and formulate the sufficient conditions for the subcore to be S-consistent.

  • The aspheric lens has become the most popular optical component used in various optical devices such as digital cameras, pick-up lenses, printers, copiers etc. Using aspheric lenses not only miniaturizes and reduces the weight of products, but also lower prices and higher field angles can be realized. Additionally, plastic lenses are being changed to glass lenses more recently because of low accuracy, low acid-resistance and low thermal-resistance in the plastic lenses. Currently, one fabrication method of glass lenses is using a glass-mold method with a high precision mold core for mass production. In this paper, DOE (Design Of Experiments) and compensation machining were adopted to improve the surface roughness and the form accuracy of the mold core. The DOE has been done in order to discover the optimal grinding conditions which minimize the surface roughness with factors such as work spindle revolution, turbine spindle revolution, federate and cutting depth. And the compensation machining is used to generate high form accuracy of the mold core. From various experiments and analyses, we could obtain the best surface roughness 5 nm in Ra, form accuracy $0.167\;{\mu}m$ in PV.

  • Recently, due to the tremendous growth of media technology, demands of the aspheric glass lens which is a high-performance and miniaturized is gradually increasing. Generally, the aspheric glass lens is manufactured by GMP(Grass Molding Press) method using WC(tungsten carbide) mold core. In this study, the thermal deformation which occurs in the cooling step of GMP was considered, and it was compensated the form of mold core. The lens which was molded by compensated mold core was satisfied that can be applied to the actual specifications.

  • Aspheric glass lens have recently been used in camera phone module because they are more effective than spherical ones. In this paper, the grinding condition of the tungsten carbide molding core has been found after applying DOE to the development of the aspheric glass lens for the 3 Megapixel and 2.5x camera-phone module. Also, the ultra precision grinding process was investigated under this condition by experiment. Re-Ir coating was applied on the ground surface of the tungsten carbide molding core. The influence of Re-Ir coating on the form accuracy and surface roughness of molding core was compared and evaluated. The form accuracy and surface roughness of the molding core were improved by application of Re-Ir coating on the surface of the tungsten carbide molding core.

  • Statements of problem: All ceramic fixed partial denture cores can be made by the slip casting method and the advanced alumina tape method. The fracture resistance of these core connector areas is relatively low. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to standardize the appropriate volumetric figure and location of the connectors in the alumina core fabricated in alumina tape to be used in fixed partial dentures by way of topology optimization. Material and method: A maxillary anterior three-unit bridge alumina core with teeth form and surrounding periodontal apparatus model was used to ultimately design the most structurally rigid form of the connector. Loadings from a $0^{\circ}$, $45^{\circ}$ and $60^{\circ}$ to the axis of each tooth were applied and analyzed with the 3-D finite element analysis method. Using the results from these experiments, the topology optimization was applied and the optimal reinforcement layout of connector was obtained and the detail shape in the fixed partial denture core was designed. Results: The modified prosthesis with the form of a bulk in the lower lingual surface of the connector in the event, reduced the stress concentration up to 20% in the 3-D FEA. Conclusion: The formation of a bulk in the lower lingual connector area of an alumina core for a fixed partial denture decreases the stress to a clinically favorable measure but does not harm the esthetic point of view. This result illustrates the possibility of clinical application of the modified form designed by the topology optimization method.

  • The purpose of this paper is to develop an improved three-phase transformer model for ATP and parameter estimation methods that can efficiently utilize the limited available information such as factory test reports. In this paper, improved topologically-correct duality-based models are developed for three-phase autotransformers having shell-form cores. The problem in the implementation of detailed models is the lack of complete and reliable data. Therefore, parameter estimation methods are developed to determine the parameters of a given model in cases where available information is incomplete. The transformer nameplate data is required and relative physical dimensions of the core are estimated. The models include a separate representation of each segment of the core, including hysteresis of the core, ${\lambda}-i$ saturation characteristic and core loss.

  • Cylindrical lens core for optical transceiver was designed and machined. With the lens design data, WC asymmetric core surface data were generated for non-revolutional ultra-precision grinding. Grinding process for optimum machining conditions of target surface was studied in terms of surface roughness and form profile. We used experimental results to optimize turbine speed, feed-rate and depth of cut with durable grinding wheel wear. Ground WC cores were measured contact type profilers and verified.

  • This paper describes a point matching method that is based on an expansion of the electromagnetic field in terms of a series of Bessel and modified Bessel functions multiplied by trigonometric functions. In this method, the electric and magnetic fields inside the waveguide core are matched to those outside the core at matching points on the boundary to yield matrix equations. As an example applying this method, the paper presents the results of the computation in the form of curves of the propagation constants in a semicircular optical waveguide, be formed by annealing for reduced insertion(radiation) loss when connected to optical fiber. The propagation curves are presented in a form of refractive index independent. Also, it presents relative energy distributions between inside the core and outside the core of various modes and presents field distributions.

  • The different core-modified porphyrins 21-thia-23-carba-12-aza-5,10-dimesityl-15,20-diphenylporphyrin (6), and their N(12)-methyl derivatives (8) were synthesized by acid-catalyzed [3+1] condensation of the corresponding 16-thia-5,10-dimesityltripyrromethanes and 2,4-bis[(α-hydroxy-α-phenyl)methyl]pyrrole. Spectroscopic evidence indicates the existence of two different tautomeric forms at room temperature in porphyrin (6). A third form of tautomer was observed when the temperature was lowered to 223 K. The most stable tautomer is one in which the nitrogenic proton resides outside the core of the macrocycle. The ratio of the three different tautomers (outer N-H/ two inner N-H, i.e. 6/12/13) was 1/l/0.5 in the case of (6) while the ratio of 1/l/0.3 was observed in the case of (10). In the case of 21-oxa-23-carba-12-aza-5,10,15,20-tetraphenylporphyrin (7), the only stable tautomeric form observed by 1H NMR was the one that nitrogenic proton resides inside the core on

  • A Canadian Deuterium Uranium (CANDU) reactor core calculation was performed using lattice parameters generated by HELIOS. The HELIOS-based lattice parameters were processed by TABGEN in a form suitable for the core analysis code RFSP. The core calculation was performed and the results were compared to those of the reference calculation which uses POWDERPUFS-V (PPV) for the lattice parameter generation. The characteristics of the core calculated based on the PPV and HELIOS lattice parameters match within 0.4%$\Delta$k and 7% for the excess reactivity and the channel power distribution, respectively.
