Cartechin and catechin glycoside named uldavioside A were isolated from the Korean folk medicine Ulmus davidiana. Based on chemical and physicochemical evidences, their structure have been determined as (+) catechin (1) and (+)-catechin-5-0-$\betha$ D-apiofuranoside (2).

For the investigation of medicinal resources in Crataegus species, the present study was carried out to evaluate the pharmaco-constituents in the leaves of Crataegus Pinnatifida var. psilosa (Rosaceae). Fruits has folk medicine in Korea. From the $Et_{2}$O fraction of MeOH extract, a new compound, apigenin-8-C-(6"-acetyl)-$\beta$-D-glucopyranoside, named psilosin and three known compounds, ursolic acid, phytosterol complex and (-)-epicatechin were isolated and identified on the basis of their physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic evidences (UN, IR, NMR and mass etc.) in comparison with authentics, respectively.

Two triterpenoid saponins were isolated from the methanol extract of Caltha minor leave(Ranunculaceae). The structure of these saponin were elucidated as hederagenin-3-O-$\alpha$-rhamnopyranosyl(1$\rightarrow$2)-$\alpha$-L-arabinopyrano side and 3-O-$\alpha$-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1$\rightarrow$2)-$\alpha$-L-arabinopyranosyl hederagenin 28-O-$\alpha$-L-rhamnopyranosyl(1$\rightarrow$4)-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl(1$\rightarrow$6)-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl ester.

A new lupane triterpenoid saponin, 3, 11-dihydroxy-lupan-20-en-28-oic acid 28-o-$\alpha$-L-rhamnopyranosyl-(1$\rightarrow$4)-$\beta$-D-glucopyranosyl-(1$\rightarrow$6)-B-D-glucopyranosyl ester, have been isolated from the leaves of Acanthopanax koreanum Nakai (Araliaceae) together with one known flavonol glycoside, rutin. The structure were elucidated on the basis of spectral and chemical evidence.

Aerial parts of Corydalis ochotensis Turcz. (Papaveraceae) has been used as a folk medicine in China for its antipyretic, analgesic and diuretic properties, which is widely distributed in Korea. Phytochemical study of the aerial parts of C. ochotensis led to the isolation of three isoquinoline alkaloids, (+)adlumidine, govadine and (-)severtzine, together with quercetin, rutin and tridecanoic acid. These compounds were established by conventional methods of analysis and identified by $^{1}$H,$^{13}$ C-NMR, and MS data.

Spiraea prunifolia Sieb. et. Zucc. var. simpliciflora Nakai (Rosaceae) is distributed in Korea, and used as a folk medicine for antipyretic, antimalarial and emetic. Sterols were obtained from the methanolic extract of the root of above plant. The composition of sterols are campesterol and ${\beta}-sitosterol$ which has been determined by gaschromatographic analysis.

Quercus species have been used for diarrhea. dysentery, dermatitis. haemoptoe, and haemorrhagia in Korean folk medicine. Specially Quercus salicina have been used for diuretic. anti-inflammatory. antiedemic. and litholytic agent. In order to investigate the efficacy of antioxidative activity the activity guided fraction and isolation of physiologically active substance were performed. (omitted)

The fruits of cardamon (family Zingiberaceae) are used in traditional medicine for the treatment of several ailments. such as stomach disorders, liver abscess, and infection of the throat, and as a common spice as well, Amomum tsao-ko Crevost et Lemarie. a Zingiberaceous plant called "초과" in korea, is an oriental folk medicinal herb for the treatment of stomach illness. The present paper reports the isolation of the constituents of the fruits of this plant and their antifungal activity. (omitted)
