This research investigated students' interaction in the environment with dynamic geometry software such as Cabri II, and GSP in order to understand and analyze why computer environment is a richer interaction field for developing children's explorative ability than other traditional paper-and-pencil environments. This research focused on 5th graders' interaction with topics of transformational geometry and similar figure and analyzed children's learning process and their interview results gotten through audio and video recording. Computer exploration with a dynamic software seems to be very helpful for elementary students to learn geometry. However, the effectiveness of the computer should be discussed with respected to its methodological validity of teachers to guide students' explorative activities with a dynamic software.

The firm leading community that is built to achieve firm's ad hoc purpose has two interested parties, operator and user. The success of the firm leading community, therefore, can be driven by meeting the needs of both parties. Most studies of the community, however, have focused not on operator but on user so far. This study identifies two variables-operating activities and organizational support-as success factors of firm leading community based on prior studies and analyzes them in term of the operator of firm leading community through 2nd in-depth interview. The result of study shows that organizational support affects operating activities and then both operating activities and organizational support affect the success of the firm leading community.

In this study the author examines the health information seeking behavior of older adults from the perspective of cognitive load. Using a qualitative method, based on ground theory, data were collected using in-depth interviews. Twenty-eight participants were participating older adults living in G community city, South Korea who experienced seeking health information. Interview transcripts were analyzed using a qualitative thematic coding framework. Three themes describing older adults' health information seeking behaviors were focused: intrinsic, extraneous, and germane cognitive load. The findings are geared towards the context of older adults' information seeking to support an understanding of successful information seeking behaviors in this population and to contribute to their health and well-being. The intent is to present information on current research in the field of Library and Information Science and to demonstrate how a cognitive load approach can be used to address the problems of older adults' health information seeking behaviors.

This research was focused on evaluating the intervention program for preventing the recurrence of conjugal violence. It was based on family system perspectives because the conjugal violence was considered as the result of dysfunctional interactions between spouses. Especially, a follow-up study was conducted by the telephone interview one year later after the program ended. There were some findings as follows: First, the physical violent behaviors never reoccurred, but the verbal ones still continued. Second, this program had an effect on decreasing the recurrence of conjugal violence.

The purpose of this study was to suggest the idea for IAQ improvement of the of officetel which is used by fully or partly residential space. The data was collected from 110 residents by questionnaire survey and an experienced architect by personal interview. The results showed that the IAQ improvement of the officetel with residential usage and residence was urgent. The educational program about maintenance of IAQ for residents was essentially needed. To recommend eco-friendly materials in process of construction was important so as to take precaution against 'sick building syndrome'. It was also necessary to improve on the size, shape, and location of ventilation window.

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of students' prior knowledge on scientific reasoning in solving a pendulum task with a computer simulation. Subjects were 60 Korean students: 27 fifth-grade students from an elementary school and 33 seventh grade students from a middle school located in a city with 300,000 people. This study adapted a pendulum task presented with a computer simulation on which subjects would use a pattern of multivariable causal inferences. The subjects were interviewed individually in a three-phase structured interview by the researcher and three assistants while he/she was investigating the pendulum task. This study showed that most students across grades focused heavily on demonstrating the primacy of their prior knowledge or their current hypothesis. In addition, students' theories that are part of one's prior knowledge have a significant impact on formulating, testing, and revising hypotheses. Therefore, this study supported the notion that students' prior knowledge had a strong effect on students' experimental intent and hypothesis evaluation.

This qualitative case study focused on the workers' flexibility needs. We selected eight full-time workers from one 2009 family friendly certified firm for observation and in-depth interview. The workers are categorized into three groups; male employees with housewives, double income family workers depending on extended family, and double income family workers depending on paid babysitter. The spouse's work status and informal extended familial support to child care were crucial factors to influence their work family life styles and flexibility needs. The flex time is the most desirable everyday needs for the dual working child caring parents depending on the paid help. And the female workers' concerned about the stigma effect of the institutionalized flexibility use of the inferior labors.

This qualitative study focused on the motives and patterns of child care leave by analyzing its facilitating and constraining factors. Fourteen participants were interviewed in-depth using non-structured interview questions. Motives for child care leave include mothers' active choice, mothers' inevitable secondary choice, and mothers' instrumental choice. The patterns of child care leave in terms of total period, time, and distribution vary according to individual circumstances and occupational culture surrounding child care leave for female workers. Female workers will occasionally use this child care leave as a rare opportunity to take a rest during their labor lifecycle and to achieve work-family balance.

The purpose of this study is to take a new look at factors affecting the spending of retired elderly households by identifying the effects of different types of wealth components, along with socio-demographic factors, on current consumption. A tobit linear regression model was utilized to estimate parameters in the consumption functions. Data was drawn from the 1990 Consumer Expenditure Survey, Interview Survey in the United States.Total consumption and various consumption categories were the most responsive to changes in annual income flow and the least responsive to changes in property assets. The four wealth components differed in their influence on consumption categories among retired elderly households. In addition, age, residential area, household type, and education were found to be significant factors affecting total consumption and consumption categories of the retired elderly.

The purpose of this study is to suggest the way of reformation of the korean policeman's uniform through the precise investigation and analysis both at home and abroad. The domestic investigation was carried out through the research into the concerned documents on how to emprove the policeman's uniform, the investigation into the focused group interview not only for the policeman but also for policeman's uniform, the analysis on the domestic policeman's service in general and the similar uniforms inside the country. The overseas-research was accomplished by visiting six different countries such as United Kingom, France, Belgium, Italy, Germany and Japan while interviewing and analyzing on their own uniforms respectively. The result of thes survey indicates that Korean Policeman's Uniform is comparatively lacking in dignity, functionability, uniformity and symbolic representation of Korea. In conclusion, this study suggests the way how to improve Korean Policeman's Uniform as follows : 1. To pursue the simplification and the uniformity 2. To give the functionability and flexibility by seasons and functions. 3. To inspire the symbolic character and the dignity of policeman's own.
