  • The effects of polymer-binder ratio, antifoamer content and shrinkage-reducing agent content on the setting time and drying shrinkage of high-fluidity polymer-modified pastes are examined. As a result, the setting time of the high-fluidity polymer-modified pastes tends to delayed with increasing polymer-binder ratio. Irrespective of the antifoamer content, the drying shrinkage of the high-fluidity polymer-modified pastes tend to decrease with increasing polymer-cement ratio and shrinkage-reducing agent content.

  • This study investigates the influence of various blending factors on cement paste fluidity and find out the most effective evaluation method of cement paste flow, comparing flow test apparatuses such as ring flow(R-F), flow cone(F-C) and mini slump(M-S). A viscometer also measures the rheology coefficients to secure faithful numerical data. Firstly, series I examines cement paste, affected by several cement products and mineral admixture types in the range of W/B 40%, ordinary fluidity, and W/B 30%, high fluidity. In this series, the three types of cement product depended on companies, are randomly used and the mineral admixture, such as fly ash, blast furnace slag and silica fume, are incorporated in the cement paste, in response to the ratio of 10, 20, to 30%, respectively. In addition, series II studies various chemical admixture types, affecting the cement paste. This series is carried out with manufacturing companies and component types in the range of W/C 30%, high fluidity. For the manufacturing companies, randomly four products are used and for the component types, polycaboxylate, melamine, naphthalene and lignosulfonate type are chosen. Test results showed that in the fluidity test of cement paste considering various types of blending factors, R-F exhibited similar tendency with F-C and M-S. In the analysis of consistency curves measured by viscometer, the fluidity evaluation method using flow test apparatuses was significantly effective, except for the some of the low fluidity specimens. In conclusion of this study, R-F was the most convenient, faithful and effective fluidity evaluation method of cement paste.

  • Fluidity, setting time, hydration heat, bond water ratio, compressive strength, SEM and BET of OPC were measured by adding 1.0 wt% KCl and replacing 20 wt% mineral admixture in order to examine effects of blast furnace slag (BFS), limestone powder (LSP), and fly ash (FA) on fluidity and strength development of the cement contained much chloride. In general, the cement contained much chloride was high in heat of hydration, short in its setting time, low in its fluidity and low in its strength at 28 days due to the rapid hydration in its initial stage. As a result of the experiment, it has been demonstrated that fluidity became improved but the compressive strength at 28 days was decreased as replaced LSP to the cement contained much chloride. the fluidity and compressive strength at 28 days was improved as replaced BFS, the initial compressive strength development was improved due to the activation of initial reaction by KCl. Fluidity, initial compressive strength and late compressive strength at 28 days of cement contained much chloride replaced 5 wt% LSP and 15 wt% BFS concurrently was better than OPC, but the hydration heat was lower.

  • In order to improve compressive strength of cement mortar, powder admixture(FAS) was mmufactured by mixing fly ash. Il-anhydite and silica hume, and superplasticizer was used for the control of fluidity reduction with the use of this admixture. Cement was substituted by 10, 20wt% of FAS respectively. At W/S = 0.40, the fluidity of' cement paste substituted by PAS was decreased. NSF and NT-2 were very effective fbr the control of fluidity reduction. As the particle size of U -anhydrite was fine, the fluidity of cement mortar was increased. The fluidity reduction of cement mortar substituted by 10wt% of FAS was controlled. The compressive strength of cement mortar substituted by 10wt% of FAS showed higher. value than that of 20wt%, expecially specimen(C1) substituted by 10wt% of $\gamma$ had the highest compressive strength value.

  • High fluidity concrete needs high dosage of superplasticizer to acquire sufficient fluidity and high contents of fine powder and viscosity agents to prevent segregation. But it requires high manufacturing cost and has difficult in quality control. Therefore, in this paper, determination of optimal mixture proportion of segregation type superplasticizer for high fluidity concrete and manufacturing high fluidity concrete by applying developed segregation reducing type superplasticizer are discussed using flowing concrete method. According to test results, as dosage of superplasticizer increases, it shows that fluidity and bleeding increase, while air contents and ratio of segregation resistance decrease. It also shows that adding viscosity agent into it reduce bleeding and improve segregation resistance. Dosage of AE agent into it containing viscosity agent recovers loss of air contents during flowing procedure. Combination of proper contents of superplasticizer, viscosity agent and AE agent make possible to develope segregation reducing type superplasticizer Compressive strength of high fluidity concrete applying flowing method with it is higher than that of base concrete. No differences of compressive strength between compacting methods are found.

  • This research is to reduce the formwork leakage of high-fluidity concrete caused by insufficient accuracy of formwork fabrication widely used for high-fluidity concrete to general strength concrete. However, in the actual construction site, because of the insufficient accuracy of formwork fabrication may cause leaking concrete of mortar through a gab of the formwork. Therefore, in this research, which builds on previous research into providing thixotropy with PVA and Borax, the use of thixotropy to reduce high-fluidity mortar leakage was evaluated. The results of the experiment proved that the use of thixotropy with PVA and Borax can contribute to reduction of the formwork leakage of high-fluidity mortar. This finding is expected to lead to further research on reducing leakage of high-fluidity concrete.

  • The effect of casting variable on the fluidity of high silicon, especially hypereutectic, heat-resistant ductile cast iron melt was investigated. When pouring temperature and silicon content were constant, that was increased with carbon content. When the pouring temperature and carbon content were constant, that also increased with the silicon content. Even though these results were thought to be caused by the high heat of fusion evolved during the crystallization of proeutectic graphite nodules, further research seemed to be needed. The fluidity for taller sprue was higher than that for smaller one.

  • The vacuum molding process is one of the clean-foundry molding-processes that can recycle molding sands repeatedly, because molding can be accomplished by introducing vacuum only among dry molding sands in flask. The effects of molding conditions such as sand grain fineness, vacuum pressure and coating thickness on the fluidity of A356 Al alloy were studied and the results was obtained that the fluidity length was decreased as the sand grain fineness number and coating thikness were decreased and the vacuum pressure was increased. A large amount of heat removal from the molten metal resulting from the vacuum suction during the vacuum molding process was the principal cause of this decrease in fluidity.

  • Recently great efforts and investment have been made in order to achieve economical production by applying new methods like minimization of man-power into construction field. Therefore in this study, we have been focused on the development and practical using of semi-high-fluidity concrete with viscosity agent and fly-ash, also we find out the optimum mix proportions to accomplish good quality semi-high-fluidity concrete. The results of this study show that semi-high-fluidity concrete with viscosity agent of 0.03~0.1%(W$\times$%) and the ratio of fly-ash replacement of 10~20% in W/B of 35~45% has better performance than the high-fluidity-concrete.
