Objective of the study represents experiences of medical utilization of Psychiatric Outpatients. This research draws on information obtained from the 2008 National-wide sampling study of the Korean Healthcare Panel(KHP) conducted. The results of our study suggest the significance of variables such as the gender(p<.001) in the social demographical characteristics, the medical security type(p<.016), medical institution utilization(p<.012) treatment type(p<.004) in the utilization factors. In the case of medical utilization cost, the financial support factor(p<.018) showed a significant relationship. Depending on the particularities of gender, medical security type, financial support, medical institution utilization, treatment type were determined through a multiple logistics regression analysis. Gender showed that, among Psychiatric outpatient age of 30-59 level was 5.358 times and 60 years and older, their the second medical examination level was 4.490 times higher than Psychiatric outpatients under the age of 29. Health insurance type showed for the others medical allowance was 6.712 times higher than job health insurance and the other treatment was 0.395 times lower than drug treatment. Psychiatric outpatients utilization are rooted in the thoughts and factor levels of the Psychiatric patients and must be understood from the Psychiatric outpatients's perspective. The point is not only to gauge the patients research during Psychiatric medical utilization. The important of social community mental healthcare services levels goes beyond the goal of enhancing healthcare.
Purpose: To identify the status of regular cervical cancer screening practices among middle-aged women, the associations between regular practice and research factors, and the predictive model and factors effecting such behavior was studied. Method: Two hundred women, aged 40 to 60, were selected by convenience in one urban area of Seoul. They were asked about their regular attendance for screening, knowledge of cancer and screening, health belief, health self-determination index and certain personal factors. Result: Approximately 54.5% of the women had periodic screening tests every 6 months to 2 years. Their knowledge of cervical cancer and health belief were at the medium level of each scale, but their health self-determination scores (HSDI) were low. Some influencing factors, and their cancer odds ratio were identified through univariate regression analysis. These variables were included in a predictive model, and this model proved to have enough fit and classification power (83.5%). In this model, the financial state, self-belief and self-determination scores were found to be significant. Conclusion: Middle-age women's intrinsic motivation for healthy behavior was found to be low in those who felt to be in a poor financial state, had higher perceived barriers, lower perceived benefits and a lower prevalence of undergoing regular screening test.
Objectives: This study aimed to identify regional differences in the high-risk drinking rate among yearly alcohol users in Korea and to identify relevant regional factors for each quintile using quantile regression. Methods: Data from 227 counties surveyed by the 2017 Korean Community Health Survey (KCHS) were analyzed. The analysis dataset included secondary data extracted from the Korean Statistical Information Service and data from the KCHS. To identify regional factors related to the high-risk drinking rate among yearly alcohol users, quantile regression was conducted by dividing the data into 10%, 30%, 50%, 70%, and 90% quantiles, and multiple linear regression was also performed. Results: The current smoking rate, perceived stress rate, crude divorce rate, and financial independence rate, as well as one's social network, were related to the high-risk drinking rate among yearly alcohol users. The quantile regression revealed that the perceived stress rate was related to all quantiles except for the 90% quantile, and the financial independence rate was related to the 50% to 90% quantiles. The crude divorce rate was related to the high-risk drinking rate among yearly alcohol users in all quantiles. Conclusions: The findings of this study suggest that local health programs for high-risk drinking are needed in areas with high local stress and high crude divorce rates.
Objectives : The purposes of this study was to analyze business performance of university hospitals for the past 10 years. Methods : Management and finance data from 2005 to 2014 were collected from balance sheets, income statements and annual reports from 27 university hospitals. The dependant variable used was profitability which included return on assets, operating margin and net profit to gross revenues 1. The independent variables were general characteristics, liquidity, stability, activity and financial ratios. Results : University hospitals over the last 10 years had achieved good management performance. Using financial leverage, patient revenues, operating profit, nonpatient revenues, total assets and total debt, the total amount had increased by more than double. The ratio of fixed liability and fixed assets turnover was found to have a significant positive (+) effect on management performance in the years 2012-2014. Conclusions : Based on these results, this study suggests a more in-depth analysis using fixed liabilities and fixed assets.
The purpose of this study is to analyze the performance difference between multi-hospitals and free-standing hospitals. Scholars in industrial economics argue that, due to economies of scale and integration, multi-hospital system may have a better performance compared to freestanding hospitals. The study overturned the hypothesis based on a theory. By analyzing 425 acute-care hospitals in Korea, this research shows that multi-hospital systems and market factors, which have been perceived to be strengths to hospitals, are negatively related to hospitals' financial performance. Specifically, the results showed a better performance of freestanding hospitals compared to multi-hospital systems. Higher labor and administrative cost by multi-hospital system may be the reason for the difference, and it means they are not more effective at cost control. Managers in multi-hospital system, therefore, should pay attention on cost-reducing issues to regain managerial efficiency of organizations.
A conflict of interest is usually defined as a set of circumstances that creates a risk that professional judgments or actions regarding a primary interest will be unduly influenced by a secondary interest. In general, a conflict of interest can be classified as either a financial or a non-financial one. A financial conflict of interest reportedly occurs frequently in medical (and psychiatric) research and practice and is associated with a greater likelihood of reporting results favorable to the intervention being studied. A non-financial conflict of interest may occur in psychiatric research and practice as a result of the so-called "allegiance effect." It is very important that clinicians and researchers in the field of psychiatry be aware that their field is vulnerable to both financial and non-financial conflicts of interest. Considering that it is impossible in modern psychiatry to be completely free from possible conflicts of interest, the best way to manage a conflict of interest is disclosure based on the principles of transparency. Actions that might lead to conflicts of interest should be avoided as much as possible.

The aim of the study is to empirically investigate and analyze the influence of public welfare, audit findings, and follow-up of audit recommendations on audit opinion with the disclosure level of financial reports as an intervening variable using agency theory and signaling theory. To achieve this purpose, a quantitative research method was employed. Population of this study is Provincial Government Financial Reports in Indonesia for fiscal years 2016 to 2018. There were 84 financial reports that met the criteria of purposive sampling. The data were gathered from the websites of the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia and the Indonesian Central Bureau of Statistics. In this study, the hypothesis-testing tool is path analysis using the Statistical Package for Social Sciences version 15. Based on the multiple regression analysis, the results show that audit findings, public income, and the disclosure level of financial reports significantly influenced audit opinion. Besides, the follow-up of audit recommendations and public health significantly influenced audit opinion through the disclosure level of financial reports. This study suggests that, in order to have better audit opinion, local governments need to improve public welfare, follow-up audit finding, and disclose more details in financial report.

The perspectives on aging women's financial security during their retirement years are based on their behavior, planning, and decision-making processes during their working years. Elderly women are considered vulnerable and have a longer life expectancy, lower-income, and limited financial understanding compared to males; therefore, drastic steps need to be taken to improve their financial stability and quality of life. The current study sought to determine the most important contributors to retired women's financial health by measuring the value of four factors/variables: capability, opportunity, willingness, and biopsychosocial. This study used a mixed model approach, with qualitative analysis in the first phase involving a focus group discussion session, a pilot analysis, and quantitative analysis for phase two involving the distribution and collection of questionnaires completed by retired women. The surveys were distributed across Malaysia in five distinct zones and yielded 339 usable replies to support the theory. The outcomes of the Multiple Regression Analysis in Malaysia revealed that capability, opportunity, and biopsychosocial factors are significant predictors of retired women's financial security, whereas the willingness indicator lacked statistical significance.
Background: We investigated the impact of financial compensation on patients' decision of participation in clinical trials and the related factors with patients' attitudes and considerations. Methods: A survey questionnaire was placed from October 31 to November 16, 2017 to the subjects who were enrolled in the trials of chronic diseases. Patients' socio-demographic characteristics were collected and the potential reasons for participating in the trials were assessed using 5-likert scores. Results: Sixty eight of 110 respondents (61.8%) indicated to participate clinical trials regardless of financial compensation. The differences were found between patients who were unwilling to participate without compensation and those who were willing to participate regardless of compensation in mean ages (43.9 years vs. 52.0 years, p<0.05), marital status (married, 47.6% vs 79.4%, p<0.01), religions (yes, 45.2% vs 67.6%, p<0.05) and monthly income (${\geq}3$ million won, 19.0% vs 45.6%, p<0.01). The potential reasons for participation in the trials between two groups were doctor's suggestion (52.4% vs. 77.9%, p<0.01), the expectation of health improvement (54.8% vs. 73.5%, p<0.05), the types and numbers of procedure (33.3% vs. 16.2%, p<0.05) and the duration of clinical trials (59.5% vs. 27.9%, p=0.001). In regression analysis, the monthly income of ${\geq}3$ million won (odd ratio, OR=3.221, p=0.026,) and the duration of trials (OR=0.290, p=0.017) were related to the group with the willingness to participate regardless of compensation. Conclusion: This stady showed that more than half of study subjects would participate in the clinical trials of chronic diseases regardless of financial compensation.
The purpose of this study was to examine retirees' attitudes towards change of living standards. The data were drawn from the 2007 Korean Retiree Survey, as carried out by the Korean Investors Education Foundation. The major findings are as follows: 1) Some retirees were not well-prepared for retirement, i.e., they lacked financial consultation, had low personal financial literacy, and lacked sufficient wealth. Retirees suffered from health difficulties, loneliness or a sense of alienation, family conflict, or lack of pastimes. 2) Certain groups recognized the change of living standards for retirees as either positive or negative. Retirees who recognized the change of living standards as negative were not well-prepared for retirement, had low personal financial literacy, and lacked sufficient wealth. They also suffered from health difficulties, loneliness or a sense of alienation, family conflict, or lack of pastimes. 3) There was a strong probability for the negative recognition group not to be well-prepared for retirement, having low personal financial literacy, and lacking in sufficient wealth. There was a strong probability for the negative recognition group to suffer from health difficulties or lack of pastimes. Based on these findings, this research suggests that retirees should prepare for retirement with a positive attitude.
