  • The purpose of this study is to examine the change in the beliefs of regular classroom teachers after participating in a gifted education lectures and practicum as well as the effectiveness of the lectures and practicum. Each teacher was asked to complete a pre-/ a mid-/ and post-journal, detailing their expected characteristics and then describing what occurred and how their initial expectations were altered. The teachers mentioned high thinking skills, creativity, fast problem solving skills, and a lack of communication skills as intellectual characteristics of gifted students and high motivation and task commitment as social characteristics. They mentioned the characteristics in textbooks on pre- and mid-journals, but presented their observations in post-journals such as lack of communication skills, competitive spirit, and frustrations. The study found that teachers broadened their view of giftedness, recognized the need to adapt instructions for gifted students, realized the necessity of knowing the students to differentiate instruction patterns, and emphasized teaching-learning strategies for the gifted. These results contribute to the promise of having regular classroom teachers engage in a field experience with gifted students to supplement discussions about gifted education lectures.

  • This study analyzes human error of workers performing simple repetitive tasks, and in order to prepare preventative measures, 486 people were used as subjects. The results of the study are like the following. First, the biggest cause of human error showed to be the worker himself in $77.8\%$ of the cases, machinery showed to be the cause in $16.3\%$ of the cases and management showed to be the cause in $6.0\%$ of the cases. The results show that most of the human error occurred due to the worker performing simple repetitive tasks and the human errors showed to be caused more by bad ergonomics and long hours rather than by problems with machinery. In addition, the area with the highest rate of human error showed to be the Human Information Processing System with Task Input Error being the highest with $46.9\%$, followed by Judgement and Memory Error with $36.4\%$ and Recognition Verification Error with $16.7\%$. Although fully automated tasks may reduce the rate of human error we must focus on lowering the rate of problems arising from spontaneous errors caused by workers performing simple repetitive tasks by continuously renewing plans and budgets in order to standardize tasks by incorporating cyclic positioning according to experience and positional exchange and by inspecting the workplace to increase efficiency of the workers.

  • Most of the important visual information is presented to driver through the display panel that is related to the vehicle. If display panel is designed with the c consideration of driver's visibility, drivers can get broad visual field and visual I information related to vehicle promptly and exactly during driving situation. Therefore display panel has direct relationship with the driver's task performance and it can be considered as an important device that affects the driver-automotive interaction. Many r researches about shape, characteristic and color of display panel have been performed, but not sufficient in this country Nowadays most of vehicles has an analog type display. but its shape and arrangement a are various without any definite standards about position. Therefore. experiments using evaluation tool (VISVEC System) were conducted to inquire the driver's preference on the major objects arrangement of display panel (speedometer. tachometer. fuel meter. and t thermometer) and to ascertain the factors that have an effect on drivers according to the objects position of the display panel The experiment results showed that there was no correlation between the arrangement c characteristics preferred by subjects and the cognitive accuracy but the cognition of V visual information more easy when the each major object has its area.

  • The stagnant growth in 3D market due to 3D movie contents shortage is encouraging development of techniques for production cost reduction. Elimination of vertical disparity generated during image acquisition requires heaviest time and effort in the whole stereoscopic film-making process. This matter is directly related to competitiveness in the market and is being dealt with as a very important task. The removal of vertical disparity, i.e. image rectification has been treated for a long time in the photogrammetry field. While computer vision methods are focused on fast processing and automation, photogrammetry methods on accuracy and precision. However, photogrammetric approaches have not been tried for the 3D film-making. In this paper, proposed is a photogrammetry-based rectification algorithm that enable to eliminate the vertical disparity precisely by reconstruction of geometric relationship at the time of shooting. Evaluation of proposed algorithm was carried out by comparing the performance with two existing computer vision algorithms. The epipolar constraint satisfaction, epipolar line accuracy and vertical disparity of result images were tested. As a result, the proposed algorithm showed excellent performance than the other algorithms in term of accuracy and precision, and also revealed robustness about position error of tie-points.

  • This paper proposes a procedure to improve the operational efficiency of the automotive parts manufacturing process by applying classical IE techniques composed of process analysis, work method analysis, and motion analysis, and a specific application case is outlined. The proposed procedure was developed originally by the Task Force organized in L company's automotive parts manufacturing business unit. The balance efficiency and production capacity were used as measures of operational efficiency. The developed procedure follows the general procedure of analyzing the phenomenon at the manufacturing shop, deriving an improvement solution to solve the problem, evaluating each derived alternative, and implementing it to the field to achieve productivity improvement. Among the methods used in each phase of the procedure, function analysis used in the waste discovery phase and R&R evaluation method used in the alternative assessment phase are unique techniques developed by L company's TF. The R&R Evaluation method techniques are described in detail because this method is highly applicable and extensible. A case of applying developed procedures to improve the EPS motor manufacturing process is discussed. As a result, the line balance efficiency and production capacity were increased to a satisfactory level.

  • This study identified the differences and relationships between clinical practice stress, sleep quality, and daytime sleep disorder before and after clinical practice of college nursing students. The subjects were 130 students in the third year of nursing science. The results showed that the average clinical stress of the study subjects was 3.15 out of 5 points. Out of the external factors for clinical practice stress, the score for the task was 3.64. There was a significant difference in gender (t=-3.88, p<).001), subjective health status (F=5.78, p=.004), residence (F=3.20, p=.026). Nursing students showed lower sleep quality (80.0% before practice, 70.0% after practice), and those with daytime sleepiness (26.9% before practice, 42.3% after practice) were more than those of general college students. There was a difference between sleep quality (χ2=4.06, p=.004) and daytime sleepiness (χ2=6.08, p=.009) before and after clinical practice. There was also a negative correlation between daytime sleepiness and sleep quality (r=-.259, p<0.01). Therefore, strategies to reduce clinical practice stress and improve the quality of sleep are needed for the physical and mental health of nursing college students. The quality of nursing can be improved in the future by helping nursing students adapt to the clinical practice of changing nursing education field.

  • It has been frequently pointed out that the established art history with the stylistic and iconographic interpretations and monographic analysis is fallen behind the currency of modern art. Among those who claimed the crisis in the discipline of art history, there is a suggestion that the art historical study should be fostered by other factors in the fields of the humanities. The so called New Art History or 'visual Culture Studies' insists that art history has to be restructured to integrate the broader study of culture and society, and by now, such an opinion is not a novelty at all. One of the most significant yet overlooked elements that induced the new currency of art history is properties of contemporary art that conflict the traditional claim of art historians. Although the idea that art is not purely aesthetic but that it has many other functions has been brought up by the art historians, it was the artists that provoked such a perception. When Arthur C. Danto and Hans Belting proclaimed the End of Art and Art History in the 1980s, the concept of art has been changed radically through the avant-garde tendency of Modernism and a new pluralism of Postmodernism. One dominant concern that strikes art historians is to find a new approach to art, since the traditional method and goal of analysis for past art and past art history seem unavailable. The perplexity arising from the situation is intensified in the field of teaching art, especially for those who teach art history in art school. Basically art history is a pursuit of learning of art in history, and its purpose is to reconcile the present with the past and the future as well. Since Modernism, as it is confusing sometimes because it implies the present state, somehow art became considered 'tradition-less'. It does not mean that a work of art stands aloof from the past attainments, hut modern art imposed itself on a task seeking after the new for its own sake, turning its back on the tradition. And now in the era of Postmodernism, an historians face the requirement to revaluate the whole history of art including modernism. The necessity of art history in art education is indisputable, but methods and contents in the academic courses should he reexamined now. Because artists' concept of history and past art has been altered, and art history as a humanistic discipline can only maintain its identity through incorporation with art itself. Academics teaching art history, or, strictly speaking, past works of art and history, to the student in art school, confront with the need to rethink the object of art history and its meaning to the artists.

  • This study was an analysis of sport psychological application for the kinesthetic gifted children's selection and upbringing in Pusan University's center for kinesthetic gifted children from 2009.7 to 2010.2. The 60(athletics: 40, swimming: 10, gymnastics: 10) of kinesthetic gifted children were selected among the first, second and third year students from Pusan, Ulsan and Kyungsang-namdo without distinction of sex. We progressed summer and winter camp during vacation, and managed a special training program according to exercise items on every Saturday. We attempted experimental a field application, and obtained the following implications. First, the first and second year students were possible to test psychological measurement with supplementary explanation, and in the case of third grade, it was enough possible without any supplementary explanation. Second, multi-intelligence test was efficient as the method to check kinesthetic gifted children's intelligence and useful as the basic data for counseling. Third, the character types of kinesthetic gifted children were appeared preferring outgoing, intuition and emotions. Forth, with the FAIR concentration, we confirmed that the center's program effected positively on improving concentration. Fifth, we found the potential that the physical task commitment questionnaire and the exercise activity self-administer questionnair would be used as official psychological measurement tool after the review process of additional validity and reliability.

  • Fungicide resistance study in Korea is still in its infancy, and most of those resistance studies are largely limited to newness of the detected resistant strains. In future, detection of fungicide-resistant strains has to be based on sensitivity distribution of pathogen populations to certain fungicides, and standard levels of certain fungicides for resistance should be determined under the basis of this data. Most of the early research on fungicide resistance in Korea has overlooked this point, and resulted in inconsistency and confusion for monitoring sensitivity shift of pathogen population among individual researchers. Fungicide resistance detected in vitro tests has to be documented in field trials by examining control efficacy against resistant and wild-type pathogen populations. Resistance detection in wife has to be correlated with lower activity in practice. Using this process, fungicide resistance will have a practical meaning. Fitness evaluation of resistant strains for survival is, in particular, of importance to determine the future stability of the resistance in the pathogen population. In fields, sensitivity change of pathogen populations should be carefully monitored with and without fungicide selection pressures to establish long-term management strategies against fungicide resistance. It is becoming an urgent task to provide information through research for designing and implementing successful counter-measures against fungicide resistance problems in Korea.
