  • The purpose of this study was to develop an effective marketing strategy for socks made of paper mulberry fiber, a new natural fiber, by understanding consumers' concerns and perception about the product and its quality in several dimensions. The first survey determined their perception of the products' image before using it. The second survey gauged consumer satisfaction with product quality after a two-week home-use test. Factor analysis using Cronbach's a and ANOVA analysis were performed for statistical analysis. In conclusion, consumer image perceptions of socks of mulberry fiber were classified into four categories -'practicality', 'wellbeing', 'high-quality' and 'traditionality'. The survey revealed differences between men's and women's perception of the 'practicality' and 'high-quality' factors. The women recognized a mulberry fiber sock as being more practical but of lower quality than did the men. And the quality satisfaction of the product was classified into four factor 'durability', 'suitability, 'wearability' and 'care-easiness'. In the case of 'suitability', men were more satisfied with the product than the women and in 'suitability' and 'wearability', a group of over 40' year-old consumers was more satisfied. The analysis of a relationship between image perception and satisfaction showed that a consumer group that perceived this product to have more 'practicality', 'high-quality' and 'well-being' was also more satisfied with the product. However, the 'traditionality' factor was unrelated to consumer satisfaction.

  • Currently, composite board manufacturing using natural fibers has the potential to expand owing to environmental awareness. To produce a composite board, treatment is required to improve the mechanical and physical properties of the natural fibers. In this study, sodium chloride (NaCl) was used for the chemical treatment. However, studies on chemical treatments using NaCl are limited. This study aimed to investigate the characteristics of kenaf fibers after NaCl treatment. The NaCl treatment concentrations were 1, 3, and 5 wt.% at room temperature, with soaking durations of 1, 2, and 3 h. The tensile strength, strain, and Young's modulus were measured to evaluate the mechanical properties of the fibers. The fiber bundle diameter, weight change owing to treatment, and contact angle were determined to analyze the effect of NaCl treatment. The kenaf fiber bundle treated with 5 wt.% NaCl for 3 h exhibited the highest tensile strength, Young's modulus, reduction in fiber bundle diameter, weight change, and decrease in contact angle compared to those of untreated fiber bundles. The tensile properties of the fiber bundle exhibited a tendency to decrease with increasing fiber bundle diameter. Increasing the soaking duration from 1 to 2 h did not result in a significant decrease in the fiber bundle diameter or an increase in tensile strength. However, a further increase in the soaking duration from 2 to 3 h resulted in a considerable decrease in the fiber bundle diameter and an increase in the tensile strength.

  • This study aimed to seek character and design of fashion cultural product using an optical fiber, and inquire element to be able to apply when an optic-fiber design differentiation develop into craft art and design. At present, optical fibers are commercialized with the brands of Luminex, Lumitex, Lumigram, etc., and the products are developed diversely in cloths, fashion articles, and interior products. When electronic technology becomes confused not visually in the technology of textile, the characteristics of fashion designs applied with optical fiber can be approximately classified for amusement, sensitivity direction, interaction, and protective performances. Sensitive design is taken a serious view as a new expression method to be interesting and attractive as well as a kind of amusement method to make people feel fortuity they do not experience in normal fashion. Also, it pursues function of body protection as a medium of communication to convey message to wearer and observer on the basis of reciprocal action between clothes and wearer. Fashion cultural product using an optical fiber is a kind of amusement to be interesting and attractive as well as it pursues function of body protection as a medium of communication to convey message and sensitive design which is attractive.

  • This paper analyzes the separation efficiency of vehicles mat residual product, and caloric value, element analysis and heavy metal of separated PE & PVC mat residual product. A results of separation efficiency, fiber fraction of PE & PVC mat residual product was analyzed 71.9% and 18.6%, respectively. Caloric value of PE & PVC mat residual product was analyzed 3,894kca1/kg and 10,203kca1/kg, respectively. A results of element analysis, main component of PVC mat were carbon(33.2%) and oxygen(21.0%), and main component of PE mat fiber were carbon(75.4), hydrogen(11.3%) and oxygen(9.1%). Lead and cadmium concentration of PVC powder was detected 98.9mg/kg and 19.8mg/kg, but Lead and cadmium concentration of fiber was detected 15.7mg/kg and 6.1mg/kg.

  • In [6], Cheng-Ye You gave a condition equivalent to the Nielsen number product formula for fiber maps. And Jerzy Jezierski also gave a similar condition for coincidences of fiber maps. The main purpose of this paper is to find the condition for which holds the product formula for Nielsen root numbers N(f;a) = N(f;a) N(fb;a).

  • In this paper, we consider the existence of nonconstant warping functions on a warped product manifold M = B × f2 F, where B is a q(> 2)-dimensional base manifold with a nonconstant scalar curvature SB(x) and F is a 3- dimensional fiber Einstein manifold and discuss that the resulting warped product manifold is an Einstein manifold, using the existence of the solution of some partial differential equation.

  • Injection molding is the most widely used process fir the industrial forming of plastic articles. During an injection molding process of composites, the fiber-matrix separation and fiber orientation are caused by the flow of molten polymer/fiber mixture. As a result. the product tends to be nonhomogeneous and anisotropic. Hence, it is very important to clarify the relations between separation orientation and injection molding conditions. So far, there is no research on the measurement of fiber orientation using image processing. In this study, the effects of fiber content ratio and molding condition on the fiber orientation-angle distributions are studied experientially. Using the image processing method, the fiber orientation distribution of welding pars in injection-molded products is assessed. And the effects of fiber content and injection mold shapes on the fiber orientation in case of fiber reinforced polymeric composites are studied experimentally.
